I have never been so disappointed in my life with the customer service I received at this place. Let me start out by saying my hyginest and Dentist were both amazing, so its unfortunate that my rating is 1 star. When I called to book my first appointment, it was obvious I was a new customer because I was required to give all of my information. I was never told that I would need to PAY for parking to visit the dentist. Im originally from the city of Chicago, and never in my life have I had to pay for parking when going to the dentist. This should be comped for. Anyways, once I arrived late to my appointment due to having to find parking (or paying $3.75/hr to have my car valetd), I advised them it would have been nice to have been informed about needing to pay for parking. They mentioned they typically send an email to all new patients - I never recieved this email, and they acknowledged this saying because I gave my information over the phone, the email was never sent. Next, they performed x rays that I never agreed to (something in regards to oral cancer). This cost me an extra $20. Once again - I never gave my consent to have this x ray done. Next, during my first visit the hygienist did inform me I had very early stage of gym disease. When I mentioned no other dentist has told me this before, a young lady from the front came into my area. She then proceeded to give me a pity story about herself, showed her gums and explained how important it is to have the right treatment. Little did I know this treatment would cost me an arm and a leg, even with great dental insurance. The last and most important piece of this review, is that my bill CONSTANTLY CHANGED. And I obviously wouldnt be writing this review if they were deducting money from my bill - every time I turned around, an additional $20, $40, even $100 extra was added to my bill! The girl at the front desk was NEVER able to appropriately explain these costs. Im still receiving bills in the mail after paying my final payment (which Ive kept record of paying). There are plenty of dentistries in the city of Tampa, which Id recommend checking out before going to this place. Im extremely surprised that Im the first person to have this review, but hopefully it helps some going forward.

I have been at patient at Dr. Upshaws office for the past year and a half. In this past year, the staff has completely changed my smile, my confidence, and my outlook on dentistry. They are the most compassionate and caring staff. I havent encountered one employee that hasnt been a delight. My hygienist is incredible, and has turned my gums around from a bad case of periodontal disease. I recently had 2 crowns on my front 2 top teeth. I have been wanting to write a review to express the elation that this has brought me, but I havent been able to find the words to express how I feel. I dont know that I will ever be able to find those words though. I didnt realize when they told me that i needed crown my front teeth what an impact it would have on me. I cracked my front teeth in half when i was a kid and I cant remember ever having front teeth that didnt have an issue of some sort with them. My teeth have been two toned and discolored for as long as I can remember. There was also a gap in them and they were worn down from having the porcelain fillings so long. I have always been extremely insecure about my teeth and often didnt smile in pictures unless you got a candid shot. Those days are OVER! There have only been a few times in my life that I have cried tears of joy. This is definitely one of them. I sobbed when they showed me my new smile. My new front teeth are stunning. Dr. Ferrara did an OUTSTANDING job. She matched the shape of my teeth to my face shape, whitened my other teeth, and matched the shade perfectly. I cant begin to thank her, and the team, enough for the consideration and compassion that went into this procedure. I consider myself to be a joyous person. There is nothing worse than being happy and cracking a big smile only to have to immediately retract it because you are concerned with what people will think about your teeth. Well, those days are over for me. I have gotten more compliments on my smile in the last 2 weeks than in my entire life, from strangers as well as people I know. I am obsessed with how great my smile is now because I never thought it could be that way. If you are looking for a great dentist, I highly recommend this office! They are the best!

I was a patient of Dr. Upshaw before she opened her own practice downtown. Right away I was impressed with the amount of time she spent with me. Her work is high quality and she took care only to do the work necessary with my teeth - if an inlay could solve the problem, she went with that instead of opting to crown the whole tooth. I certainly appreciate a dentist who tries to preserve as much of the natural tooth as possible. Her new office location is great, her office is very nice and clean, and her staff are helpful and friendly.

Dr. Ferrara is the best! She is trustworthy and does excellent work! I trust her and her team completely. She is kind and compassionate which makes you feel comfortable. She makes you want to go to the dentist! The team she works with is also great, I go for my cleaning during my lunch hour without missing any work. The front desk staff especially Anna are helpful and kind. I never wait long for an appointment or in the waiting room.

My friend Nancy referred me to your office and it has been great from day 1. The environment is warm, caring and friendly. A team environment, such as Holly has been wonderful to deal with, she is very professional! Perry has been wonderful as well. Great side chair presence, caring and reassuring. Keisha is also great. Dr. Upshaw you are wonderful as well and it is reflected in your care of your patients and your staff. Thank you!

Dr Leslie Ferrara and her Team of Professionals did another outstanding job during my most recent visit. As always, their courteous, professional and super attitudes (not to mention they are great to observe in action =) I had a stubborn (and old) filling removed Friday ... when I accidentally swallowed the crown, Dr Ferrara met me in her office over the weekend (usually closed) to fix the issue (very quickly). These folks ROCK!!

Dr. Ferrara is the kindest dentist Ive ever visited! She is very friendly, upbeat and makes going to the dentist fun! Her staff and assistants are always extremely sweet and helpful with working around my crazy schedule, a major plus for any busy person or family! Her office also has a gorgeous view of the Tampa Bay, an especially great treat for weary ones who might want a distraction during their visit. :)

The entire staff, from the receptionist to the techs and the doctors, everyone is terrific! They are friendly, thorough, they treat the dentist phobics with the gentle care they need and they are always willing to do whatever they can to satisfy your needs. Ive been going to them for years and will miss them and their excellent care as I move to another state. Best of all to Ferrara Dental!!!!
