4/12/17 UPDATE: Refunded my $50 copay after seeing the review I left. Thank you for my refund. Saw Dr. Cole 3 days ago as my 2nd visit & Im definitely never going back. With all of these wonderful before & after images from her website, I was certain that I can finally have this one dark acne scar removed. The 1st visit was understandably a consultation. $50 copay on skin scrape sample, fine. Scheduled 2nd visit with another $50 copay & here was where I thought we would go over what would be next to remove the scar. Instead she told me my skin scrape sample came out fine. Okaaaaay, I already knew that, so was that all she was going to tell me? I had to ask for how to proceed & said she will not cut into my skin because she didnt feel comfortable but willing to do a freeze. I said ok thinking this is more effective with no issues & gave her staff $100. It was after this that she tells me the freezing, too, would not help, would scar even more, & nothing is guaranteed. So what was the point of me even being there? She then got defensive when I asked why I wasnt given other options but freezing only to be told it wouldnt do anything but scar my face further. I then asked about cutting & she said it would cost me $1000. I said ok, I didnt ask you how much it was. Ill do it if it is effective. I just asked about the procedure. So did she assume I couldnt afford it to be the reason why she didnt throw it out as an option? By now, she has gotten irritated for no reason & rudely asked if I wanted my $100 back. She was very condescending in how she went about it as if my $100 is garbage & Im a waste of her maybe 7 minutes with me. Then this was just a question...I didnt even straight out ask for my copay back. I just asked if copay is something that would be given back if nothing from the day had transpired. Again, very rudely, looked me in the eye & said "No, you cant get everything at no charge. That copay is for my time. You are paying for my time." Then got up very huffy & left. I was sitting there appalled at her terrible attitude. Both times she seemed rushed & both times I was the only patient because I got the earliest appointment at 7:30 so Im not sure how my 7 minutes with her took up so much of her day. She has a very pompous attitude & her staff are like zombies/robots with no emotion in anything. I can hear how she barks at them outside of the door. It was obvious she speaks to them in a condescending manner as well. She doesnt care about anything but making money & to probably fund her Botox as her face is frozen & her lips barely move to talk to you. My $100+$50 copay was change for her & unless Im doing a procedure in the thousands, she doesnt give a flying flip about us mere peasants.

Quite possibly the WORST customer service I have ever received. The summary is I had to pay for their mistake and my inconvenience. Please note, that given the fact that they are NOT trustworthy and being able to trust your doctor’s office is of utmost importance in the selection process. I would highly recommend that you choose another Dermatology practice! Above are the main points of my experience outlined below, so you can read further or just consider what I have already said before choosing Cole Dermatoloy. I was scheduled for a follow-up appointment(one that was rescheduled 3 times). I took 2 hours of personal time off of work for this appointment. When the doctor came in she explained that because of the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, insurance would no longer cover the follow-up procedure so I did not need the appointment. (That is fine, but a courtesy call without me coming all the way to the office would have been nice). But I decided to shrug it off when they did not charge me at check out. An inconvenience. Okay, it happens. I had moved since the time of my first appointment, I filled out paperwork when I went in, but apparently they did not update my file. I first learned that they had been billing me when I received a call from their third party billing company. After receiving this call, I called the office and explained the situation and was told the office manager would follow-up and she did not. Meanwhile, I am receiving an obnoxiously high number of calls from the billing company who I keep telling to quit calling as I am communicating with the office regarding this. When I did finally talk to the office manager, she did not even hear my story before she was telling me that I had to pay as a doctor’s advice is not free. Advice on what? How much I love to take time off, waste my time and then pay for a service I didn’t receive? I am happy to pay for services but not ones I did not receive. The customer service was appalling. I do not trust a doctor who would charge for a service she did not complete just to get money from the insurance company and myself. Last and most importantly, if you cannot fix a mistake to maintain customer satisfaction…I hope you enjoy the money because it will not last long if you keep up this horrible service. I would not advise going to a practice that will charge you for their mistake and your inconvenience.

When scheduling the appointment I let the person know it was my first visit to a dermatologist. I developed a rash from the sun that I was concerned about. They just scheduled the appointment said it would be about 15 minutes and that was it. My sister informed me of how a dermatologist would typically check the spot then do a body scan to ensure there were no other areas of concern, so this is what I was expecting. When I arrived for the appointment the Dr came and she asked if I was using lime in the sun. I answered yes and she said well thats all it is discoloration from the lime juice. At that point she was ready to conclude or appointment. I said well wait arent you going to do a full scan and she replied no thats no longer included due to Obama care. She continued on about how it would be an additional $50 so they dont do it anymore. She asked if there were any other spots I was concerned about which I replied yes and asked her to look at some moles. She was very brash and said well I could do a biopsy but you would have a scar is that what you want? At this point I was a little frustrated so I declined. She then shoved a paper my way and said I had to sign that I declined her recommendation. After this I decided I wasnt going to ask any additional questions and decided to leave. I felt since I needed dermatology care and not costly cosmetic procedures, that the office also does, I was treated as a bother. The worst part is 2 weeks later I received a bill for $62! $12 more than the full body scan she refused to do! I would never recommend this place to anyone!
