I am a 28 year old women who has gone to a renowned dentist all my life until I moved to Tampa for work. I had a first time regular cleaning a year ago which went fine, even though the facility itself sketched me out. (Side note- The facility is not very nice, paint is chipping from all the walls, it doesnt seem very clean in the individual rooms either.) I first had the experience with a dentist (who I looked up that got her degree from UF) I was happy with her and the first cleaning experience. Then come April 2017 I went back for my second (ever) cleaning at this facility to a new hygienist and new dentist. I will NEVER in my life forgot this rude hygienist named Jackie A. Jackie does not like when you ask questions and almost seems offended when you debate the recommended services she is trying to make you "think" you need. She made me feel like I had a rotted out mouth that called for a deep cleaning and that I HAD to buy there most expensive mechanical tooth brush to solve the problem. I walked out spending over $300+. I was iriate and not to mention felt pretty bad about myself after dealing with her. Jackie, with her hands in my mouth, made the worst noises of surprise and disappointment when looking through my mouth. She is extremely unprofessional, undelightful, and over dramatic which is how Im sure she has conned people into getting services they dont really need. In July 2017 I go back for my complimentary follow up appointment. Again, I see Jackie (the dread sinks in). She examines my mouth, making disappointment sighs again, to tell me youve improved but there are still areas you need treatment on. So youre telling me your expensive treatment plan didnt work for me so now you need to do it again? Hmmm something is not right. She has the young new dentist come in and examine my mouth. She mentions when was the last time I had my crown examined. I immediately stopped her and said "this is a new crown from the dentist I went to all my life until I came here, its fine Ive had no issues" and she dropped it. ****keep in my also every time Ive sat under the light NEVER once was I offered glasses to block the lights out of my eyes. One april when I asked Jackie for them she seemed bothered that Id even dare ask her**** Anyways, the dentist tells me my teeth look great but there is one tooth in the back that needs to be numbed and have deep cleaning, that no matter how much I brush or floss it wont help bc it needs deep cleaning. I thanked her and said I wont need this service. She agreed and left me along without jackie. Jackie proceeded to print out the cost estimate of this $110 cleaning for me. She signed it and aggressively told me I must sign this sheet. I was confused why I needed to sign this if I werent getting this service done? She didnt like my question and again stated that I sign this bc she was presenting it to me so I must sign. I again said no and she told me I must sign! I told her she was rude and that I felt uncomfortable and walked out. Why would I sign this? Was she going to commit fraud and send this into my insurance bc she got my signature? At no place on this document did it say I had opted out of this treatmeany so why would I sign it? Do not go here if you do not want to be haggled for services or harassed!

If I could rate this place negative stars I would. If you read all the reviews you will note about 5 years ago people were happy with Dr. Goldshein--as was I. That was when my relationship with Great Expressions (then Dental Health Group) began. I did a happy year with Dr. Goldshein where I felt everything was good, especially compared to Coast Dental where I began (dont do them either). However, it quickly went down hill. There are two major complaints to date. The first is the rotating door of dentists and the second is the overly corporate money-making up-selling cash cow puppy mill business they run. First, the dentists. After Dr. Goldshein left there was a different dentist every year I went (and sometimes two in a year) from 2011 until now. When I would comment to the new dentist they always said something about maternity leaves or internal moves. I dont buy it. This location is smack in the middle of South Tampa with great schools and beautiful homes. My personal belief is those dentists ran or quit when they didnt meet corporate quotas of some sort. The second and WORST piece is the corporate schedule. We all know health care is a business in the US but this place blurs the lines between patient and customer--by selling us stuff we dont need. Lets start with that 30 dollar oral cancer screening; followed by the products from the hygienists; next there are the fillings that "fall out" or "leak out," followed by the cavities we never had at other places before this one. The latest and final straw was last week when my crown fell off. The new doctor told me I needed to see a periodontist (which I agree with), so I requested a temporary cap to get me to that appointment. She agreed then the "office manager" came in with an estimate for a 200 dollar temporary cap for a 1000 dollar crown that their lab messed up and fell out. I explained to her when you go to a dealer for a car thats messed up on their watch they give you a loaner for free or cheap. She didnt understand and said, "well thats corporates policy." Why would I spend 200 dollars on a temporary crown if I knew an expensive replacement was eminent. I got up and left the chair. The doctor was surprised, so my guess is many people dont get second opinions. DO. NOT. GO. HERE! I continued to give them a shot--but Im done.

Fortunately, I got out before they could do ANYTHING to my mouth. I went to the Carrollwood office. Because it was obvious they take my insurance. All was good, I thought. They did the initial exam and full exrays (my insurance paid for all of that). I complained of a toothache. The doc was pleasant enough, I had explained that I was in pain and that a "rotting" smell was coming from my two teeth. She came in and informed me she found "food" in my mouth, I said, yeah...there is a hole between those teeth, I ram a little round bristle brush in there a few times a day till it bleeds, it hurts, I need them extracted. She tried to talk me into a root canal, no..please extract. So they made an appt for extraction at the Land O Lakes office. Then tried telling me I needed this scraping and planing procedure...in excess of 5000 dollars. I make the three weeks to get to the LOL office. They tell me the morning of the appt that it is NOT for the extraction, just a consult with the Oral Surgeon. I was less than thrilled. Got there. Started questioning their practices and stated how this treatment did not exactly garner trust in dentists for those of us who do not particularly trust them. I was asked to leave the office, they chose not to treat me. So, DO NOT question them, do as they say, when they say and like it! I made an appt. for a consult at the Brandon office since the office manager at LOL and I do not see eye to eye. I had the appt for the first week in April. It got pushed back till 4/18. OK, things happen. They called to confirm last Friday. They called 4/17 afternoon saying they had to reschedule, the surgeon will not be there tomorrow and offered an appt. for JULY?!?! I calmly stated I would find another dentist before I would go back there. Just another in a series of bad experiences with this place. Thankfully, I only had them do the exrays not even a general cleaning. OH, and I agree, they do not believe in pain management...she kept poking around my mouth during the exam, I was flinching and tears were running down my face, she could care less. I had told her which teeth were sensitive, so she proceeded to dig even more on them!!! No wonder I can not be comfortable around dentists.
