WARNING!!! Be for you place your child here *Please Read*... Obviously we all know some children have certain issues and they have to go into these type of places. Well this place is like a last resort place for children They have a 1.9 rating. My friends daughter had to be transferred cause every where in Bell county is FULL!. They are absolutely a joke of a place. The nurses have no respect or knowledge about what is going on with the child, they can not get the medicine list right or more less EXPLAIN WHAT TYPE OF TREATMENT THEY HAVE DONE TO * Better the child* When we were in there most of the children didnt have shoes on and looked very tired and zombie like coming back from where ever they came from. They are real quick to put the children back in the rooms so they dont have to deal with them. My friends daughter had the most DRY SKIN THAT HER CHEEKS WERE PEELING HER LEGS AND ARMS WERE SO DRY ALSO! Her hair looked like they were washing it dish soap it. It was so dried out that her head was also peeling. U would think as much money as this place makes from insurance companies they would provied better soap for hair and body and maybe some conditioner and lotion. She also told us they were having left over food... And the milk smelt spoiled. When we had her admited to Cross Creek we had her looking good and skin and hair really nice.. They also dont have no schooling in the joke of a place. They have no care what so ever. My friends kid wont ever come back to the place she will deal with what ever comes her way. She really did need help but THERE WAS NO HELP HERE. PLEASE PARENTS DONT SEND YOUR KIDS HERE DO YOUR RESEARCH BE FOR PLACING THEM INTO THem KIND OF PLACES. IF THERE WAS A OPTION FOR 0 STARS THATS WHAT I WOULD GIVE THEM. THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN IT GET SOME STAFF WITH KNOWLEDGE IN THERE......

This is the single worst mental health facility I have ever encountered. My friend had a reaction to a drug and became suicidal. She spent 3 days in cross creek doing absolutely nothing, except for occasionally coloring in coloring books and in total joke group sessions. She was given two drugs which have a bad reaction, and her symptoms all worsened. They did not even meet with her to diagnose. They just started medicating her without any blood tests or meeting with the psychologist/psychiatrist). I was her guardian and primary point of contact and they lied to me repeatedly about numerous matters. The director is the single most dishonest health care professional I have ever encountered. This place is nothing more than a butts in beds, understaffed, failing their patients and worse. A patient was complaining that they had been there six days and no one had even met with them yet. SIX DAYS. Despite her being able to check out voluntarily we had to involve a lawyer and the director from the non-profit in town that funds musician mental health in order to get them to release her so we could take her somewhere else. It was a total nightmare. She was freezing, and I had to go buy her clothing and warm items. In no way does this place offer anything but baby sitting for those who are ill. It is absolutely worse than star. We went there seeking genuine help and she came out far worse and due to their failure to diagnose prior to administering drugs she worsened before we could get her in on a drug that did not make things bad. She was struggling with her weight due to a physical issue and the drugs they gave her made her throw up and she dropped to 86lbs from 98 before getting things under control. Seriously, this place should be shut down.

I like this hospital and it is my first choice for emergency psychiatric care. The staff is caring. I love Mr. Bill, the nurses, David, and the admissions staff. Things move slowly. Thats just how hospitals work. It is not just Cross Creek. You cant do anything about it. Tips: - Participate in your care. Be your own advocate. No one is going to do it for you. Be honest about what you need. It sucks being trapped there but take advantage of it. - You can pretty much guarantee you will be there AT LEAST 72 business hours. This does not include weekends. If you get there on Saturday, your 72 hours does not start until Monday morning. This applies to ED (emergency detention) as well. - If you have to ask if you are ED, you probably arent. - Go to those groups! Go to breakfast, lunch, dinner. Hang out in the day room. It may be the last thing you want to do, but thats something they monitor. You have to put in the effort. Hiding in your room all day is gonna get you trapped there longer. - Bring warm clothes. Dont bring those booty shorts. You arent gonna want to wear them. It is never warm. Dont count on it. - Have visitors. Give them your access code. Put them on your list. It breaks up the monotony of the day. You will appreciate seeing familiar faces. - Lastly, be courteous to the staff. They choose to be there. Sometimes they seem grumpy, but it probably has nothing to do with you. Take their attitude with a grain of salt. They are busy. They really do want to help you.

I checked myself in for anxiety and depression. When we first got there everyone was nice and all but we wait 2 or 3 hours before someone finally came to get me. While in there, and I was only in there 3 days, I wasnt crazy about the nurses. I didnt really talk or give an attitude so none of these nurses were rude to me. However, I noticed some of them being really rude to other patients. Just the tone of voice was so negative. Other patients were being just flat out ignored when having a question or concern. There is one specific hallway for the more serious cases (people who are a danger to themselves or others) in which they keep that door locked. In one case a nurse held up a needle to someone in that hallway (needles are one of his triggers) and smirked. You dont do that, I dont care who you are. Thats mean. The patients in that hallway were forced to bang on the window in order to get someone to acknowledge that they were there, then got in trouble for it. I just didnt like how they were locked in a hallway all day and night everyday.. A few of those patients got to come out rarely and when they did, they were super super sweet. So when they got locked back up in that hallway you could just see the sadness in their face. Overall, my experience was fine for me, if you dont talk and are super polite... but I didnt like how they treated others.

My son was in this facility and we had a good experience. They were waiting on us when we got there. They immediately started the intake procedure. All the staff I encountered was friendly and helpful. When the ER sent the wrong list of currant medications the nurse immediately wrote down the correct dosages and called the doctor to get them corrected. My son never complained about anything about his experience. Upon discharge I did not have to wait like I have at other hospitals. I had requested certain material during the family meeting and everything was ready in a nice folder. All his clothes were returned at time of discharge.
