My father was treated here. It was terrible. They told us he would have surgery the next day, but then sent breakfast and then lunch. We asked why he was being fed if he was to have surgery. After a half hour of questioning and calling, someone finally said it would be the next day. The next day after surgery a nurse came in 30 minutes after he had been back in the room to remove the bandage. We told him that it had just came out of surgery. The nurse said, "No, the surgery was yesterday." Ummm..."No, we were here waiting. HE JUST CAME BACK INTO THIS ROOM FROM SURGERY." "Oh, OK," was all he had to say. The night nurse had to start ANOTHER IV, poked my 5 times, moving his head around and blinking like he couldnt focus. The morning nurse finally came and took over, started the IV on one try. He was to be released one day, then it was pushed back to the next day, but no one ever came to tell us, so we were waiting all afternoon to leave. Then the day he was to be released, no one ever came to take his catheter out or the IV needles (that had been in an afternoon and evening, a night, that morning and into the afternoon. When they said he was released, we told them he couldnt leave like that. "Like what?" "He has needles and a catheter, for goodness sake." "Still. Really. Well those should have been removed long ago." REALLY? Who would have guessed? So, we had to wait for someone to come remove those. And then he had to dress (since he couldnt before that); while he was dressing, the attendant came in wanting to know why he was out of bed...Because hes been released and we are trying to leave." "Oh," was all she had to say and left--why did she not know he was leaving? and NO ONE, not one employee was friendly or personable. We seemed to be a problem for them, not a patient or even a customer (they were getting paid for this). I wish we had told them, "You know what, we need a second opinion," and left when we got there. I simply didnt know how awful it was going to be, or, believe me, we would have gone somewhere else. It was disheartening to know that a heart hospital--thats what they do, heart surgery--has so many unprofessional people working there. It makes one not want to go to the hospital, knowing how bad the treatment is. And I think its getting worse.

I went in to see Dr. Tschopp for the second time and he was rude and arrogant both times. The first time I had come in with a referral from my primary care doctor and Dr. Tschopp acted as if he had no idea why I was there; basically made me feel stupid for being there. He said he was the "electric" guy and I probably needed to see the regular cardiologist. Fine enough. I was there for low blood pressure and Dr. Tschopp said he could tell just by looking at me that I just needed to eat; that I was too underweight to increase blood pressure. Fine enough. Then today, I was referred back again to do a tilt table test by my neurologist. Dr. Tschopp again acted as if this was a ridiculous proposition and just acted rude about the whole thing. I told him I was just there because they sent me there. He said, "whose they?" And then pointed to my husband in the room and said, "him?" Which made no sense. I said my doctor referred me. Dr. Tschopp went on and on about how futile the tilt test would be. When I told him I thought my issues were related to reactive hypoglycemia he said, "theres no such thing." When reactive hypoglycemia is a recognized condition by numerous physicians and endocrinologists! He said it was "impossible" for me to have low blood sugar; that I would only have low blood sugar if someone was trying to kill me! He said it would be more likely that someone was trying to kill me than I had low blood sugar! (Lots of people have low blood sugar!) Ultimately he said he wanted me to have an echo/ultrasound, basically to cover his butt, because he outright said he didnt think I had anything wrong with my heart, but yet still he wanted me to have the test. He then said, "if you have a problem with your heart, that will be embarrassing." That was pretty much the point it was confirmed to me that this guy is a di**.

Ill try to make this short. My wife came in for a stint in her corodid artery. They were unable to complete the job due to her veins had too many turns. Then she had to be flat on her back from 6.30am that morning until 9 05pm that eveing. I hope I never witness the discomfort like she experience ever again. That would have made waterboarding seem like nothing. I cant imagine the pain she endured. She is a very strong lady We were discharged about 1pm the following day, but they served her lunch first. She had chicken breast and a baked potatoe. After eating about half of it she said it was horrible and that she shouldnt have ate it. That evening she started vomiting and diarrhea. I ran to walgreens for medicine to treat it. She continued through the night. Next day Friday still the same until things subsided above 3.30pm. I was able to get her into the urgent care office in Georgetown for treatment. It was server food posisoning. Saturday after more treatment with Emetrol the nausea eased she slept most of the day. Now its Sunday and after 12 hours of sleep last night, she got up had some fluids, Gatorade, water and more water. Shes on the couch sleeping again. But said shes feeling a little better except for very sore stomach from dry heaves. The doctors and their staff were very good and we had no complaints, with the exception of the Bad Food. If you go there DONT eat food.

Dr. Owens, if you see this and I hope you do, you neglected my dad to his own detriment. I dont know if its because hes a vet, but your nurse treated me like it was ridiculous to bring my 70 year old dad in after he hadnt eaten in five days. You refused fluids, though he was clearly dehydrated, urine almost orange, and sent him off after maybe an hour and a half. He didnt take anything seriously with the way you brushed him off and now he has rapid colon cancer and still doesnt take it seriously. Its only been a month and were pretty sure this is the end. I know you signed on to help people, just please... Wake up. There are lives at stake. Your face will be in my mind until the day I die 70 years from now and it will come along with this image of you and your nurse playing everything down when everything was actually so incredibly crucial. And the bill came in the mail today. You did literally nothing but play down his illness and were up to $900. Fix this.

ER experience was wonderful, once my husband was admitted the care went down hill. Everything the ER doctor wanted done was pushed to the side and not done. 3 different hospitalist saw him in a 5 day stay. Apparently they dont coordinate any of the care between anybody. At one point after reading his med list I was asked if I could go home and get the cough sryup he was prescribed a week before. This was after I did bring his regular BP meds and was told they couldnt let him take anything that didnt come from their pharmacy. For 5 days they fed him and gave him his regular meds (I could have done that at home). Left with the same issue we had when our PCP sent us there. Again the 2 ER docs were wonderful, just wish they would have followed thur with their plan once he was admitted.
