My dog had diarrhea and wasnt feeling well so I found this animal hospital through the internet. I took my dog to the office and even though the receptionist did not have the greatest attitude, everything else was fine. I had called in earlier and said that my dog needed an emergency check so they quickly took a look at him. The technician loved my dog and treated in wonderfully and even kissed it a few times. My dog was nervous when she first held him but he was calm afterwards. When the veterinarian came in, Dr. Chris Labrie, he cared for my dog perfectly. He explained everything to us and gave us good tips on how to take care of my dog. When he was vaccinating my dog, he was very patient and was always smiling. He would look at you in the eye and answered every question that you had like he was not in a hurry. I would definitely recommend Dr.Chris Labrie and will continue taking my dog to this hospital.

I personally didnt like this. i was looking for a new vet for my dog. they were rough with my dog for his first time being here. my dog was nervous for seeing a great dane bigger than him and another dog barking at him wanting to attack. my dog was nearly frightened just waiting in the lobby. not only did this bother me, they felt my dog was a threat. i went in for small rash on his arm to make sure it was something small and not serious but they were insistent on getting him fixed. he is 19months old and i understand its very important but i felt i was getting a lecture by my father. telling me my dog needed obedience training to make ME a better person. my dog was not a crazy dog. he was simple a dog on his first vet visit with this new place. i am sticking with my old vet 4 paws. they are the best. when it was his first visit they always greeted him as if he was a person.

I took my dog to Dodd Animal Hospital yesterday after having taken her last week to her regular veterinarian. She was sick and I was terrified!! Dr. Donald Vestal, D.V.M. and owner of Dodd recommended we do a geriatric workup as she is 14. He told me he reccomends this at age 8 but no one had ever mentioned this to me. After these tests were done I was even more concerned to learn how sick she really is. Dr. Vestal explained everything to me in words I could understand and showed me the X-ray. A course of treatment has been established and I have hope for her full recovery. Their staff and Dr. Vestal were very kind and loving to my dog and I am beyond thankful for my decision to take her there!!! Thank you to Dodd Animal Hospital, this morning she ate and is wagging her tail!!

I am very disappointed and upset with Dodd Animal Hospital and staff. I went in this morning, shortly after they opened, because my 6 week Yorkie was not feeling well (but he was alive). The receptionist/technician told me that the Veterinarian/Doctor was not in because he/she was running late due to traffic. Then one of the technicians took me to an examining room and left me there to fill out some paper work. After waiting for more than 40 minutes, my puppy DIED! I told the technician that my puppy had died and all she said was "oh my gosh" and left to call someone but by then it was too late so I left. I pray that they dont treat other patients (pets) in the same manner that they treated us. It was very inconsiderate and heartless!

These people are cool understanding and smart they let you know what you should and shouldnt do with your dog and they dont force anything more than a recommendation these people that left one star you gotta read the comments they left about other companies they are full of complaints one lady that left one star said" whoever raises and lowers the lake should be fired" so youre trying to fire god ? long story short this is the best Clinic Ive brought my animals to, wait time is low , fast and honest better then 4 paws and bandfield and better then the clinic on Babcock met the owner hes intelligence level for the cheap price they charge is outstanding they also offer care credit a fix dog now pay later

At first I was irritated. They had me waiting a long time. Rather than let me know the Dr had to take a phone call, it would be a little wait, they just left me waiting. I was about to walk out when the staff explained that to me. On that note, it was well worth the wait! The vet tech was great. I appreciated how he interacted with my dogs. He was knowledgeable. Then I met the Dr.! Fantastic! He really took the time to examine my dogs. He discovered and addressed a few problems with them that I wasnt aware of! He worked with me on finding solutions to problems I was having in treating them! He discussed at home remedies! Im so sorry I dont have his name, he is one of three DRs there! I will be back!

Took our Look Lab to those idiots at Dodds, for one week. We went on vacation telling all the staff our instructions. We brought canned food. Dry food. Her stuffed toys and blanket. No one from this prison fog camp to call us with any questions or concerns. Our dog went all week without eating or sleeping. She was so stressed. She couldnt bark anymore. She came from an abusive home. And we rescued her. The clear plastic container that you CAN bring was still sitting on top of the kennel. Never opened! Dodds is a bunch of greedy obese Vet Techs. No care in the world we just want your money. Do not go to these Nazis.

I took my doggie to Dodd animal hospital and was very very pleased on how Dr. Vestal and staff cared for my pet! They were very caring and informative, I was able to understand everything that was going on and if I had any questions they answered them thoroughly. Also the techs gave very detailed instructions on how to dispense the medication that was given. This was my first time here at Dodd and I was very happy, I will definitely be back also the receptionist in the front always have a wonderful warm greeting and are ready to assist. Im just happy my doggie is back to his normal self again!

I will never use this place for my dog again! I am not at all pleased with their boarding service. My large breed dog went there happy, energetic and full of vitality. When I picked him up three days later, he seemed very disoriented and walked with a limp. I dont know what they did to him. It has been one week since I brought him home and he is still not the happy, frisky, playful dog he used to be before I took him to Dodd. On the other hand, two of my friends took their dog there and theirs came out fine. But somehow, they messed up when it came to taking proper care of my dog.

Ive been trying to find a good vet clinic for my 8 year-old American Pit Bull Terrier in San Antonio for the past 5 years. Dodd Animal Hospital exceeded my expectations in every way--they are courteous, short wait time and very good at dealing with larger breeds of dogs. Dr. Yoder is wonderful and is easily available by phone for any questions or concerns regarding your pets health. My brother recommended this clinic to me after being so pleased with his dogs leg surgery. I dont plan on ever switching vets as long as I am in San Antonio. -Samsonites mommy
