I walked into the Bethany Medical Center on Battleground in Greensboro, NC today 12/9/16 smiled and said Good Morning to the front desk lady. She told me to have a seat and she will call me. My appt was at 8:30am. At 9am she called someone with the last name Wood. My last name is Ellinwood so I waited to make sure no one else was getting up, as there were a lot of other people in the waiting room and I wanted to make sure there wasnt someone with the last name wood before I answered. I looked around the corner and asked her if she meant Ellinwood. She said yes and I walked up. She asked why I was here I told her I had an appt at 8:30 and she then just states you have to pay a balance of 161 and some change before you can be seen today. This came as a surprise because I have not received a bill from Bethany since my first appt on 11/18/16. After making sure I heard her correctly I asked "Did my insurance pay any of it?" my exact words and she goes on to explain my deductible and that is high and goes on to explain why I owe. I understand all of this and am happy she was able to explain my deductible to me but I ask her again." I understand this, but can you tell me how much my insurance paid? Are you able to see that?" again, my exact words. She literally responds. "Some of it". So I ask how much? she automatically tells me. I asked her if they sent a bill out to me? she says I should have received a bill. She goes on to say she can have someone explain something to me but says that person is not in. I did not need the bill or the deductible explained and I understand how deductible work and have worked in insurance before, I just wanted to know how much my insurance paid because I had not received a bill before hand and would have like to be prepared to come out of pocket before my appt. I paid the bill and went in to see Dr. Sun who asked me why my blood pressure was so high as it was unusually high. I did not go in there intending to talk to the doctor about my horrible experience with his front desk but since he asked about my blood pressure I informed him of what happened because obviously my blood was boiling at this point but I wanted to try and keep my cool. Unfortunately my blood pressure told on me. He went on to explain that the staff can be stressed, I understand he didnt want to talk down on his staff but wanted me to understand he understood where I was coming from. He told me to verify my address with them at check out and to make an appt for next year for another annual. At check out I verified the address they have on file is correct and then told her that the he informed me to make another appt for next year. She asked me what date I wanted to make the appt after telling me that the doctor should have wrote it in the notes if he wanted me to make another appt for a year out. I said he just informed me to make an annual for this time next year and she and the other lady sitting next to her at check out laughed as she told me she can not make an appt a year out. I kindly told her dont worry about making the next appt if you can not do it its okay her name was Letisha. I told the office to have a great day and walked out. Needless to say I will not be returning to Bethany Medical Center for care. I am in the process of having another doctors office call over for my paperwork to be transferred. I am not leaving this book to get anyone into trouble I just would like for you all to better train your employees (front desk in particular) in courtesy and professionalism. No, I will not be recommending Bethany to anyone I know and if I hear someone is attending and ask for my opinion I will remember this incident.

We went in to the facility about 30 mins to closing. MY boyfriend had symptoms of food poisoning which we later found out was the Norovirus. He didnt have his insurance card but he had his policy number which the receptionist accepted and pulled up his information manually, which she told us she did. While we were filling out the paper work a lady walked in and said she needed to be seen because she fell on her arm a few hours ago. The second receptionist got up went to the back and came back a minute later and said the doctor said the x-ray machine was down and she would have to go to an er. Once my boyfriend was finished with his paper work the receptionist went to the back again and came out and said the doctor said there is nothing he can do with food poisoning we would have to go be seen some where else. I asked is he not a doctor? She replied he is a nurse practitioner. She was like Im so sorry I had all your insurance information pulled up and ready to go. 1. That was a lie because we went 2 other places that night trying to be seen and they said that they couldnt help us because the insurance policy wasnt pulling up which we later found out at cone urgent care (great service) that one of the numbers was incorrect. So she lied about that. 2nd. My boyfriend had symptoms of food poisoning which turned out to be the Norovirus. Doctors shouldnt be making assumptions off of what they hear and actually examine the patient. If we were doctors and could diagnose our selves there would be no need for us to go to hospitals or urgent care. I honestly believe that it was 30 minutes until closing time and the staff was ready to go home and didnt want to see any more patients. Im very disappointed that health care workers have this type of work ethic. I had been there before when they had previous owners but after this experience I dont care if they are the last resort I wont go there again

I have gone to this urgent care twice now, and I will not be going back. I wasnt very impressed with the staff up front the first time, just not friendly in the slightest and carried on personal conversations without a care who could here them. I had no problem with my nurse or Dr, got some antibiotics prescribed and went on my way. When I got to the pharmacy to get my prescription, they didnt have it. I had to call and wait on hold forever to be treated so rudely by one of those girls up front. All she had to do was send the fax again, but she acted like I asked her to change the Earths rotation. Finally got my meds and carried on. Second time, same issues with the front staff. I got to listen to them talk about one of their coworkers and all the dirt theyre digging up on her and how stupid she was. SO UNPROFESSIONAL! Got in, nurse was awesome, Dr couldnt get me out of there faster. I had a rash on my scalp that he wouldnt help me find (it was towards the back of my head, sorry, cant see back there!), then he said it was nothing, "but Ill prescribe you a cream that might help." Once at the pharmacy again, they were out of that cream. Fine with me, it was a $45 cream which was way more than I wanted to spend if I was fine. I asked what it was exactly and the pharmacy tech concluded it was pretty much the same as an over-the-counter anti-fungal. Doc said it wasnt ringworm so why would he give me this? I decided to buy the generic stuff, applied it once, and then my hubby notices the "not effective for scalp or nails". Why is this Dr trying to give me expensive medication that isnt even applicable to my affliction?? *sigh* Sorry, its long, but Im a believer in details. Point of the matter is, there are better places to go in Greensboro, so Ive been told, and I would recommend going a little farther out of your way to see them.
