Shame on the incompetence, disrespect and callousness of this ER and its staff. I am 7 weeks pregnant and was seen 2 days ago for bleeding and cramping. Based on my symptoms and an hcg quantitative blood test, I was told that I was likely miscarrying. I was devastated, asked for an ultrasound to verify the diagnosis, which they refused. I asked how they could matter-of-factly give me such a diagnosis without doing either a physical exam nor an ultrasound to check for the viability and heartbeat of the fetus. The reply from the physician assistant was that they are an emergent facility only and did not feel that an ultrasound was necessary. Besides, if I was miscarrying, theres nothing they could do, anyway. WOW. I asked to speak to a doctor- the same PA (Ryan Maldonado) refused. He said it was not necessary. I insisted on an ultrasound- he refused. I ran it up the chain, spoke to Wendy Colon, the director of the ER- that did no good. She just sent a nurse in to appease me. After 2 hours of completely inadequate medical care (if you can even call it medical care), I left and went to St. Anthonys North ER. There I was treated like a human being. They asked me relevant questions, I had an examination by an excellent physician and an ultrasound, along with another blood draw. The wonderful physician there (Dr. Dylan Luyten) took the time to talk to me, answer my questions, gave me a diagnosis and a plan of action for the next few days. EXACTLY what should be expected by a competent, effective ER. If yours is not a matter of imminent life and death (or really, even if it is!), I highly recommend bypassing Platte Valley Medical Center and heading to a capable medical facility.

I was seen at one of the Dr Offices here and was told I needed an Xray. I was sent down to the "hospital" portion of the building for this, was never explained that this would be an additional charge, some places do have in house xrays that are included with your copay so I assumed since this was in the same building it would be covered. Received a bill for $500 and then I explained I could not afford that amount. They did refer me to an assistant billing program but was then told I had to physically go down to give my documents. With my 8-5 schedule, 2 kids and not working anywhere close to this building and they close at 5, it was not a true option. After reaching out to them regarding this bill I was told I no longer qualify for any discounts and then was told I could have mailed my documents in. I was NEVER told this before so that was extremely upsetting. They then proceeded to say I cant now because its too late. Not one person I have spoke with was helpful at all for the amount. I just kept getting, Ummm so you need to pay this we cant do anything dont know what to tell you, attitude. I then asked to speak with a Manager DAYS ago, was told she would call me back that same day or the next day for sure. Have heard NOTHING back and even left an additional voice message when that did not happen. I am very upset by this and will not refer them to anyone. I will also make it a point to go on my social media community sites and refer people to steer clear. Some of us do live check to check and I did not appreciated their lack of sympathy and compassion to help someone out. I was not asking for the whole amount to be taken care of but seriously they could have cared less.

Worst emergency room ever. Daughter went to urgent care and they told her she had an infection in her salivary glands and they gave her the wrong medicine and gave her mild pain medicine that did not help the pain she had also tried taking a sleeping pill to go to sleep and nothing helped so we thought going to the emergency room they would be of some assistance. WRONG the triag nurse was sympathetic and said he had just been studied the problem she was having and how painful it is. BUT that is where the sympathy stopped once she got you the room the er doctor cane in already with his decision that she was having problems with her teeth and that she was only there to get pain medicine and he said he would give her tramadol even though she had taken Vicodin prior to this visit that did nothing for the pain and oh yes take care of your teeth and you wont have any problems this all without a visual exam just reading the chat and basically telling her that her primary care doctor and urgent care doctor who both diagnosed her with salivary gland infection last month and now tonight are wrong and your a drug abuser so here are couple of tramadol and a valium. Bad bad bad. Her is the reason people hate doctors. Cane in with attitude did not even try to have any sympathy for the patient and was not willing to listen.Had the attitude that he was the doctor and his diagnosis was correct no matter what another doctor said and he made this diagnosis by looking at a chart. NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Also had to wait for over two hours for this just the amount of time they have to have you in the emergency room to Bill

I had gone in with severe abdominal pain and very heavy bleeding. I can understand the emergency department can get busy at times. However my visit there really made me feel like my situation was not "serious" enough to be taken care of. The nurse that was assigned to me at admission, never came to introduce himself. It took an hour and a half for someone to come in just to ask me my symptoms. The physician appeared to not care very much because he was in and out quickly. Then someone finally came in to draw my blood to see what was going on, at this point I had changed into my clothes ready to leave. 2 hours just to draw my blood, a new nurse came in to tell me that my original nurse went home. I never met the person to begin with... 45 minutes later the physician came in to tell me I was having a miscarriage and ordered an Ultrasound. Again a long period of time just to realize I had already passed the tissues and fetus. He failed to let my husband and I know that he was also leaving and a new physician would be coming in. The communications were horrible. I went in at 9:30 and was discharged at 4:00 am and majority of the time it was just waiting for someone to come in and do what they were suppose to. This was THE WORST experience with any medical facility I have ever had. I will not be returning to this hospital for any reason in the near future. My friend experienced the same just a few days ago as well, it is very unorganized.

I have only been to this hospital once, and once is enough. They FORGOT me and left me sitting in the hallway for over 3 hours before they bothered to call someone for my transportation. I live in an assisted living facility, and the nurse at my facility kept calling them asking them to help me, and they just gave her the run around, too. Then, after being there all night, and then being abandoned in the hallway, they didnt even think to feed me, and I was starving! FINALLY, the shift supervisor came out and apologized, called transportation for me, and said they were bringing me a "boxed lunch", but it was too late, the nurse where I lived took time from her family in the middle of the night to come and get me. Then, I needed to make an appointment with the Peak Pain Management, and they (like the GODS they think they are) REFUSE to see me. Flat out refuse to even make an appointment with me, and I am in horrible pain. I used to go to Innovage (worse place I was ever involved with), and I was "not compliant", which is true, but there were also MITIGATING CIRCUMSTANCES that this Peak place didnt even look into. I guess they really dont care as much as they SAY they do in their website, to be able to pick and choose who they see. Innovage was the only place I ever went to that I had problems with. I WOULD NOT SEND MY DOG TO THIS HOSPITAL, besides, it doesnt have a very good emergency room rating, cuts and scrapes mostly.
