Had the misfortune of taking my 12 year old daughter to this office where she was subjected to ridicule by one of the hygienists. The hygienists admitted to the office manager after my complaint was lodged, that she did in fact refer to my daughter as having a "jack-o-lantern mouth" and apparently felt it within bounds to inquire about the status of my 12 year olds menstrual cycle. After the tears had cleared from my daughter, I forwarded my concern to the office manager and was assured it would be handled. Fast forward 6 months later to the next appointment, I learn nothing has been handled and that nasty, unprofessional staff hygienist is still a staff member. The office staff had the gull to schedule me (dad) with this vile hygienist for my visit. As I was initially surprised the staff member was still on board, I thought it appropriate to ask her about her comments myself. Expecting an apology as I was informed she was so profoundly regretful to the office manager 6 months prior, I was surprised when she denied everything to me, and called my daughter a liar. Again, this is 6 months after apologizing to the office manager for her actions and admitting she said my daughters mouth was comparable to a jack-lantern, and providing unsolicited comments about menstrual cycles and how that may pertain to my daughter. While I doubt the office endorses bullying of 12 year children, it cannot be overlooked that they do nothing to truly ensure a safe, relaxing atmosphere for their patients. I have never encountered such an unprofessional office, and would recommend strongly that you bypass this office. I am sure every parent wonders at times, what is going on when you send your child off with a supposed professional. At Damascus Dental in Mt. Airy, you need not wonder anymore as I could not imagine a worse environment for a child.

Although I had good service at Damascus Dental, it was clear that this practice is more concerned with filling a chair, than their patients time and convenience. My last appointment was given to another patient. I asked why they gave my appointment away? Their answer was that I didnt respond to their appointment confirmation process. It turned out that they had used out of date contact information, I changed jobs 7 months prior, which they were told that I no longer worked there, at the time of the call. This was troubling because I had just been there a month ago. I had never missed an appointment with them, so they had no other reason to give my appointment away. I took off work and being at a new job, I dont have much PTO, very disappointing and costly to me personally.

My wife was having a terrible time with existing dentist and being charged double to have a cap put on after a root canal. We called McKane, gave them the codes for the procedures. They quoted a better price and told her to bring her records and X-rays. Theyd be glad to help. She did all that and after a few days she called to follow up and they told her they dont work on a tooth thats already in treatment! Why didnt they tell her that up front? Office is a circus side show!!!

Brought both of my children for cleanings, fantastic office. Very friendly front desk, amazing hygentists, and Dr. McKane was fantastic. It was my four year olds first time at the dentist and they made it very comfortable and easy for her. They took great care of my kids, they cant wait to come back and get their teeth "all white and shiny". Will refer to my friends and family. Thank you Damascus Dental :D

The staff and hygienist were polite and professional; the dentist, Dr. McKane, was just the opposite. We recently moved to the area and I went for a routine cleaning on the recommendation of an acquaintance. Dr. McKane was abrupt to the point of rudeness, condescending, and even made a joke of my concern about a dental problem I had. I will never go back to such a discourteous person again.

Made an appointment to have tooth pulled. All they did was evaluation and two X-rays. Wrote me a scrip for antibiotics . Antibiotic made me sick they said to call my dr. Waste of time and money .
