I went to Dr. Britton for a simple tooth extraction and I would not recommend him to anyone. He pulled my tooth which was fine and everything went smoothly . After the fact of pulling my tooth, i was in severe pain and went back in to see him again. He determined it was dry socket (which it wasnt ) said it would be a couple more days of pain and be over. A week later i noticed a bone fragment on my gum line and determined this was what was causing me so much pain so I went back in to see him to which he told me again that I had no idea what I was talking about. He said it was dry socket and the bone I was seeing was a part of my jaw and my gums would grow over it and sent me home distraught and still in severe pain. He said the only thing he could do was file the bone down so the gums could grow over it quicker . Two weeks later which brings us today, I noticed the bone fragments he swore were not fragments were lose and was able to pull both out with my fingers. INSTANT RELIEF. I spent almost four weeks in pain due to his negligence. He treated me like an invalid and made me feel like MY PAIN DID NOT MATTER and when i called him on it today he tried to completely change everything he said to me to make himself sound more competent. I am very upset and disgusted with his treatment of his patients and his blatant disregard for their concerns. He is the WORST dentist I have ever been to and I will NEVER go back. My husbandhad three teeth surgically removed and was in the clear from pain before me and his surgery was two weeks after mine. I was with him every step of the way. My recommendation : go to Dr. Crawfords office in Biddeford. Southern maine oral and maxiofacial surgery. They were polite and took his concerns seriously. Dr. Britton is a joke and should not even have a practice. His staff is as cold ice just like him.

I dont normally write reviews(Im lazy) but the previous review deserves a rebuttal. I cant speak to the other persons review since I dont know his particular medical situation. But for several years I went to him to have many teeth removed. The prices in NH where I live are very very high. So I looked to Maine and found better prices with Dr. Britten. I found him cordial and a no nonsense business person. He had my bad teeth out before I realized it. I once asked when he was going to have it out..and he told me it was already out. I didnt once ever have any discomfort other than what could be expected from such surgery. The only discomfort I had on the 50 mile trip home was dealing with the gauze packing. The cost was 40 to 50 percent less than in NH. Hes a good man.. so dont let the previous review throw you. Rus Wilson Dover NH

Just came from Dr. Brittens office and I wouldnt recommend this guy to my worst enemy! I was referred to him by Biddeford-Saco Dental as I had a piece of wisdom tooth that was not taken out years ago and was causing me issues. I explained to Britten that I had dental anxiety due to bad experiences in the past and his answer was " I pull 20-30 teeth a day". Not exactly soothing but I wanted the fragment gone has it had been infected...OMG! I felt horrible pain despite the fact Britten kept telling me that was not possible but as I explained to him I was feeling pain. His manner was horrible, his office looked horribly outdated to be a specialist. I was told he was very good, sure if you are a prison inmate in need of dental care.

Dr. Britten is really good at what he does. His rates are far lower than most of the other surgeons in the area, i think because he doesnt spend a whole bunch of time coddling you and making conversation. He pulled 2 teeth, the entire appt including the wait was about 25 mins, and his rates were 40-50% less than 3 other places i checked. He talked to me the whole time, explaining what he was doing and keeping my mind off the procedure, because getting teeth out is about the worst. If you just want a good dentist and you dont care about being coddled then this guy is your man.
