Dr. Hamblin and his entire staff are wonderful. They will go above and beyond to help animals who need care weather it is major , minor, or routine like vaccines/spay/neuter ect. One thing to consider when taking your pet to the vet is if you tell them you CANNOT afford a large vet bill, they will do what they can with the limited resources the owners have to provide care for their pets. Sometimes it will not be enough to save or give proper treatment to that pet. The blame cannot be put on the vet or the staff when pet owners walk in the door and tell them they dont have the means to pay for a large bill. They do have a fairly large staff who need to be paid, medical equipment, medications, and it is not free to "keep" the lights on. It is a business that requires payment for services to be able to continue to save the lives of animals. And they are not equipped to handle all emergencies. They can "patch them up" if it a case that is beyond what they can do there and they may need to go to a specialist for further treatment. Which a lot of people cannot afford. So owners expect them to preform a miracle with limited resources when they do not have the money to pay for the actual treatment that the vet recommends is needed. They have and continue to, save many lives, they are very busy, with emergencies coming in daily, some days hourly. If there is a dog dying, they are going to focus on that dog, before one who has a broken bone, or jaw, ect that is NOT life threatening( the same care "people" would get if they go to the emergency room at the hospital, severity trumps). The reviews I have read here are NOT conclusive to the care that is given to the animals they care for, and their families. Obviously, there are only a few here, when in fact they have many pets under their care right now, and it continues to grow every day.

I didnt even make it past the front desk, but thats as far as I needed to go to know that the place is a joke!! Who classifies themselves as an "animal hospital" but yet doesnt except walk ins? Perhaps in my rage of desperation to find urgent care for a recue animal, I am not being fair!! However Im a firm believer in the fact that, if you dont have a heart for the job you do, you shouldnt be there!! The fact that the employees are simply there for a check didnt fall short on showing as I waited patiently to be greeted when I walked in. Two of the ladies behind the desk busy with their cell phones. One finally acknowledged my presence, smiled at me making me feel hopeful that she was going to assist me. However, she stuck her nose right back in her phone and I was not approached until the receptionist waiting on the customer in front of me done so. Even then tho, when she snapped a reply to my question at me, I truly would have rathered the continuing of my presence gone un noticed!! Even at that point, had they would have accepted the puppy as a patient, I would have been no where comfortable with thinking any animal could possibly be treated properly where someone cant even treat a human being with dignity!! I do feel sorry for anyone who may feel that this place is there only choice of care for their fur babies!!! The one star is only because without it, Im unable to post!!!

I took my boxer to the clinic March 1st at 10:30am, she had a fracture on her lower right jaw, in two different areas., that require an orthopedic surgeon. It took them 20 min to get a room ready for her. Meanwhile my dog is bleeding from her mouth, going through her nose, causing her to have respiratory problems, she had a really hard time breathing because of the blood. Her jaw was hanging down and would lock up when she opened her mouth, you could hear crunching sounds from the break. When they took her in, they put her in a cage. I called 4 times in 6 hours. Every time they told me they had not seen her, nor gave her meds, they had not touched her at all. We finally went to pick her up and they charge us $43.00 for doing NOTHING but cause our poor baby even more pain, and more damage then when we took her there. She is being treated now at a different clinic and by a professional. The vet she went to to get the help she deserved took 3 hours to do everything to get her comfortable. . I would never bring my pet to this place. When someone made a review on their fb page, about our dog, Corbin animal clinic said " we are NOT sorry and you are not welcome here anymore" that comment shows just how unprofessional they really are. Look for another vet, if you truly love yours

Well I have had several dogs in my life and had always used Dr Castle. Im on a fixed income and cannot afford to pay for more than a yearly check up for shots and normal visits. I had always been able to split up the cost in monthly payments but I took my dog and was not given the medication because I was not allowed to charge the visit. My dog did without the medication for over 2 weeks because I couldnt pay that day. She has been taking the medication for over 2 weeks and it hasnt helped. Then was told that she needed an xray to see if there was something else wrong with her. I cannot afford the cost and was refused treatment because I couldnt pay!!! Now my dog is still sick and will probably die because I cannot pay ... so to me that means that the money is more important than my pet !!! I will tell everyone I know about this and I hope they have to close their doors !!! BY THE WAY I OWED NOTHING TO DR CASTLE AND I WILL NEVER TAKE MY PET BACK !!! THANKS FOR MAKING MY PET SUFFER !!! AND ITS BREAKING MY HEART !!!!

If you care about your pets, do NOT take them to Corbin Animal Clinic! My parents took their cat there multiple times over the last two weeks and spent $1,000. Dr Hamblin, and I use the term Dr loosely, told them he would be fine and that he has gingivitis and he wanted to clean his teeth. He did not test Fuzzy Cat for feline leukemia, and the only concern he showed was in receiving his $135 for coming in for an emergency. Our beloved Fuzzy Cat was not fine, upon taking him home he was not able to stand, eat and was drooling profusely. To make a long story short, we just returned from Bluegrass Animal Specialists in Lexington and had to put Fuzzy Cat down, due to Feline Leukemia. Due to the inaction of Dr Hamblin and not testing for Feline Leukemia, our precious cat suffered for a week. Dont waste your time, money or the health of your pets on Corbin Animal Clinic. We will be using Dr Culver in Williamsburg. He and his staff are awesome!

I brought my Great Dane in to get his ears cropped excately 2 weeks later he was dead !!!! It wasnt from the cropping itself his ears looked great, I am thinking he caught a secondary infection while at the clinic. He lost weight and stopped eating I took him in on Sunday paid the extra fee and the vet checked him for several things but could not give me an answer as to what was wrong with him. He assured me he thought he just had a stomach bug and would be fine and to bring him back in on Tuesday well he died at 3 am that morning. Please dont bring your pets here they will let them die !!! If you love your pet stay away from this place !!! He should have put him on an IV he was so fragile !!!
