We started visiting this location when we first got our puppy and it wasnt too bad when we started but then things got progressively worse in the the care of our pet and the visits we had. The staff kept pushing for unnecessary medications that costs extra, some of the vets were not very attentive to us in explaining things to us or answering our questions and we just didnt feel like our pet was getting the best care. When looking for a new vet, we learned that some Banfield locations are corporate operated and others are owned and operated by the vets (charter) but under the Banfield name, similar to a franchise. This makes a BIG difference in care. So we gave Banfield a second shot (because we liked the wellness plan perks) and switched to a charter location (Mason, OH). Such a difference!!! We got better service in all aspects and better care for our pet. We love our vet, so I would do your research and seek out a location that is charter owned instead of corporate where their care is determined by how much money they can get from you rather than caring for your pet.

Take your business elsewhere. This "Veterinary Clinic", and I use the term VERY loosely, is interested in your money. They could give a flying toss about your pet. I showed up at 8AM sharp on a Sunday morning with my Bulldog, who had been injured during the night by a stray cat. Had several big gashes in his neck which I had dressed as best I could, one of which was still bleeding. The poor thing is whimpering. I am the only person in the place. I also have a full Pet Wellness Plan with this particular place, for which I pay $90.00 a month. I am told that "All our appointments are booked for the day, youll have to go somewhere else. Try Centerville". I am sitting there with a visibly injured, whimpering bulldog, and am told to essentially f**k off. Do not give this place a single dime of your money.

Ok, so in all honesty, Im one of the vets here. But having worked at several clinics over my career from low cost rural to high end AAHA accredited practices, I can say that the team at Dayton Mall Banfield is awesome and really cares about the pets we see. And theyre always working and training to get even better. Im proud to bring my own pets there for anything from routine vaccines to major surgery...like the enormous mass I just had taken off my boyfriends 15 year old dog (took me a while to convince him to do surgery on the old boy, but hes just 2 days post op and acting years younger now!). And my boyfriend is so glad we offer the wellness plans to make pet care more affordable and convenient, he tells everyone he meets with pets about us.

I truly wish I could give a negative star. I took my babies here for years. When my normal vet vanished with no notice, whom I would have thought after years of building a relationship with would have notified me. I started to see a new vet with a completely different office and organization, not bainfield! I found out that one of my boys had a alcer in his eye and a absess! My other son had three infected abcessed teeth, when I had brought it to bainfield attention in the past they told me it was normal for an older cat. I later after transferring had to have them all surgically removed. I had no idea, because I trusted my vet. My cat with the eye issue also have to have surgery due to the abscess. Disgusting organization!

Horrible experience. Doctors are incompetent. Brought my cat in for dental surgery. She developed an infection they didnt catch for well over a month. Despite the fact I brought her in a total of 7 times after. Her infection was in her tooth, gums and cheek. They told me this was the worst infection they have ever seen. They also dropped her on the floor while she was sedated and chipped her tooth. My husband and I were angered and upset. When we asked how this could happen, their standard answer was always we dont know. No one there could own up to anything. Do your research with the vet you choose. I know I should have done mine.

Dont even want to give them one star but I want to warn others. I bought a bearded dragon from petsmart and it got very sick. Later I learned that petsmart doesnt pre-vet check their animals before putting them on sale and have no problem doing so. Once my beardies sickness got progressively worse I brought her in and told the vet my beardie was loosing weight quickly not eating and not doing anything but sleeping. All she did was weigh and check the mouth of my beardie and sent me on my way telling me she was fine. A few days later she died.

Although I will say the wait time was a bit long I was very happy with the service we received. We just recently got a puppy and although our other dog has went to another vet for the last four years that we love, the prices have gone extremely high and so we decided to try the Banfield puppy plan. Honestly such a great deal and to know it covers her spaying as well is awesome! Not to mention much less than what I have paid for one visit a year for our other dog. I plan to change both animals to Banfield.

I dont even want to give them one star, but I guess I dont have a choice. I went in with a sick cat that wouldnt eat. I was there for over 3 hours & spent all of 10 min w/an actual vet. While waiting in the room I heard the vet say to the nurses in the back that she had 5 animals right then & didnt know what was going on. While they were drawing blood from my cat who was crying very loudly I heard one of the nurses say shut up youre fine. There professionalism was terrible! I will never take my cat back there.

The front desk worker was great, however the technician who was suppose to come out and explain the procedure had terrible attitude and seemed to be annoyed that I wanted to know what all was going to happen with my dog (will he be put under?...how long?..etc) May not return to this location b/c im not leaving my dog alone with anyone who has that hard of a time doing their job with a decent attitude..

Horrible Place! They suck you into buying their Wellness Plan and you NEVER get your moneys worth. And they give you a VERY narrow window of time to cancel the plan. If you miss the window, you have to buy your way out of the plan. I have read hundreds and hundreds of complaints about this place on the BBB, forums and Consumer Protection Agency. BEWARE!

Excellent care with kind with friendly staff and knowledgeable Vets. I highly recommend the Banfield Wellness plan. You pay a monthly fee, for any age dog, and all routine vaccinations are covered. Also includes full blood work, Heartworm test and treatment, dental cleanings & unlimited office visits.

Me and my wife bring both our dogs here. The staff is friendly but i feel that recently the vets have been pushing for unnecessary tests. There has been a lot of turnover with their staff in the last year and the care that they provide is definetly not as good as it was in the past
