My dog severly injured a baby cottontail bunny today so I took the bunny to have it humanely put to sleep. I was very upset about the bunny and did not want it to suffer. It was tiny, maybe weighing 3 -6 ounces. I brought it in to the clinic and a girl at the front desk went to the back to ask the vet about putting it to sleep. She came back and said it would be about $35.00 and I would have to take the body!!! I said I am just wanting to put it out of its suffering and I would take the body. She could see he was bleeding and his back legs were paralyzed and the poor baby was wide awake and surely in pain. The baby was obviously not going to survive. I was shocked they would charge that much for a tiny baby that was suffering. I used to be a vet tech and I know it does not cost $35.00 to put a tiny animal to sleep. Maybe $5.00 at the most if you consider needle, syringe, drug, overhead costs and a few minutes of time. The girl said shed talk to HER (the vet) again. She came back and said "She said we are giving you a deep discount since we usually charge $90.00." Wow, the vet is giving me a great discount to put a tiny wild cottontail bunny to sleep to end its misery!!!!! I should feel good about bringing it to this clinic since they give such good discounts for euthanasia! What happened to compasion and caring about life? This is so sad. Money before compassion. Why be a vet if you dont care about the animal but only the $$$$$. I found another vet in town that does truly care and has compassion and took care of the poor baby bunny. This vet didnt even charge anything! My 4 dogs will be new clients there now! I will let everyone know about that vet and tell them how sad that Granbury animal clinic (or at least one vet there) could care less about the suffering of a tiny wild baby bunny. I still dont know how anone at that vet clinic could see the suffering baby and turn it away. Thank goodness there are still some very caring vets. Be careful who you trust with your beloved pets. They can appear to be the best but money is the most important factor to them. This clinic was not this way years ago but sadly it has changed a lot.

Today, once again I spoke with another rude person at Granbury Animal Clinic, GAC, that seemed more occupied with what was going on in the office than speaking to a customer on the phone, and telling me "Hello" after a short pause for me to contemplate what she had just said to me. They once again have no records for our pet. When we adopted him from the animal shelter I took a stack of files to them. Excuse, "we didnt scan those in," and why not? They are the records of his vaccinations, seems to me to be a little important to keep. My wife and I have gone to this clinic for over a year, but no more. Every time we go there the staff pretends we are not in the room, gossiping and caring on instead of providing a service, a service that I am forced to pay handsomely for. I have never been allowed to go with my dog to the back when he is receiving shots, Is he getting them? We also boarded him, bought his toys and enough dog food to last a week, he was there for 4 days. When my wife picked him up he was skin and bones, he had a full bag of his dog food, which she feed him from for 6 days once he was home. She was so upset that she didnt tell me, as I was on a business trip, she was afraid I what I might say to GAC. Well here is what I have to say, everyone has a different experience and tolerance level. When it comes to service mine is short, I am in the pet & livestock feed additive business, and if I treated the veterinarians that are customers of mine the way I have been treated by GAC, they would no longer be my customers, therefore I am no longer a customer to GAC.

Dr. Imke was FANTASTIC! A special thanks to him and his team saving my best friends life! When our 10 year old German shepherd dropped to the ground late on Sunday night, we panicked and begin to call for help as I carried him to the car, with Louie now hardly breathing and ice cold lips and milky white tongue, I didnt think he was going to make it. The person we talked to on the phone got intouch with Dr. Imke to have him call us. The Doctor Immediately called us and left his house to meet us and was at the clinic in less then 15 minutes. Louie then unable to stand or breathe was rushed in on the table and receiving fluids, medications and everything he needed within minutes. He remained calm and spoke to us taking our mind off of what was going on. He was quick yet calm about the entire process which was great to see. That night when we left Lou at the clinic we were concerned and the Dr. called us frequently to update us on how he was doing. that Tuesday we finally got the call that we wanted, we could come to take Louie home. Louie has a heart condition, but is home safe and doing better then he has done in a while. When we go for our follow ups the entire staff stops to say how to Lou. Couldnt be happier or more grateful for such a caring staff. If it wasnt for them my best friend would of died in my arms. I wont go to another vet. Louie heart rate was well over 200 BPM when we got him to the vet, he now is steady and full of life and color again! Thank you all again for saving our boy! Thanks to you my best friend is still by my side!

HATE THIS PLACE! They will nickel and dime you to death and try to make you feel stupid. Im disabled and unable to drive so I cant just get up and drive on command. I have to get rides. Took dog in for wellness exam and made SURE I had all my bases covered so my dog is taken care of. Spent $200 which was way more than other places in past. Explained to vet dog might be constipated he didnt say anything about it or seem concerned.Called two days later because dog still has had no bowel movement.Receptionist griped at me for giving my dog the appropriate dose of docusate sodium which is what is used for constipation for dogs ( my last vet recommended for dogs I had in past) she even compared it to pepto bismol( which is used to stop diarrhea and not safe for dogs) then finally admitted she really didnt know much about the medications. Why did you just gripe at me then if you dont know and refused to ask vet for any advice such as symptoms to watch for. I understand there are emergencies that require instant care. But since I just came in and cant drive due to my disability cant you simply ask the vet what symptoms to look for to make sure it was emergent. She insisted I come in immediately. I called another vet who gave me simple instructions over the phone and let me know my dog was fine. Why did granbury Animal clinic say could only get simple advice if I came back in to spend more money for the same thing the vet didnt address before!!!!! I love my dog. But Ill go elsewhere for care for my baby.
