This is most incompetent place for medical care that exists. I arrived to the ER not able to walk or sit up because I had herniated a disc in my lower back. They did nothing but treat me as if I were a drug addict. The nurse was extremely rude to me and did not do a through assessment. She popped her head in and out of my room and to ask questions to complete the necessary intake forms for me to be assessed. This is a violation of Hippa. She was speaking to me from the hall where other patients and other medical personnel were present. The doctor on call acted as if I woke him up from his nap and did not run any type of tests. He told me that there was nothing wrong and that I just needed to rest. He felt it was just a strain. I called them back a couple of days later and complained about my pain again and told them that I felt something was incredibly wrong and they suggested that I come back but said I would be charged the full amount to be reassessed. I then received a bill for $2k that I am expected to pay out of pocket. A week later I went to another doctor and received a MRI which showed a herniated disc. I had surgery a week later to removed 14 pieces of herniated disc off of my ganglia nerve. I have tried countless times to work this out with Turkey Creek Medical Center and all they have done is turn it over to a collection account. I have been threatened by their collection company that if I dont pay it, it will ruin my credit. The other doctor who treated me at a different ER charged me $800 to be seen, assessed, to take x rays, to have a MRI, to give me pain meds, and to connect me with a neurologist who performed my surgery. He was the one who found the herniated disc. What does that tell you about the quality of care and billing at Turkey Creek?

4 hours of surgery, 2 specialists, then my wife went to the recovery room and eventually to the floor to recover overnight from her ordeal. As a physician myself, here are some observations. The facility (Tennova Turkey Creek) was very sensitive to the patients family and loved ones. During surgery, I was called when a) she was in pre-op, b) the procedure(s) had begun, c) the first surgeon was finished (and he came out to brief me on his part), d) when the second procedure had begun, (and he, also, came out to meet with me when he was done), when she was in recovery, and finally, when she was in her room. I was able to stay with her overnight. the nurses, (Brenda Leacit and Brandi Jones) brought me 4 pillows, sheets and a blanket for the pull-out couch/bed. There was a family-friendly kitchen unit down the hall, refrigerator stocked with ice cream, sherbert and soft drinks, there were soup, crackers, coffee, tea all for our comfort. Next morning, the day shift (Connie Hughes and Colleen ___) took over and managed her dressings, drains, fluids and ambulation with both professionalism and warmpth. In no way did it seem they were rushing, yet, I believe they were the only two on duty at the time. We were discharged once they instructed us as to drain and dressing management, dos & donts, and with all appointments set up. They sent us home with a complete set of dressing supplies, tape and pads. They even instructed me how to care for the surgical dressings and drains as they teamed up to give my wife her first post-op shower, and dressing change. We chose this place by its reputation, and we were not disappointed. Thanks, Tennova Team, for taking care of us. Harry Stuber, MD.

My mother suffered 2nd degree burns on her backside for lack of care. I spoke with Vicki Owenby who pretended to care. They admitted fault, lack of staffing, piss poor nurses, etc. They feigned empathy and assured that new policies were put into place, the head nurse spoke with all the nurses, etc. My mother died before she could get a lawyer and they know that no lawyers will take this because there is not enough money to be made off of it. I only asked for 10,000 to be donated to Shriners hospital in my moms name and $5000 to my niece who provided her care for her wounds AFTER the hospital released her! My mother had trouble breathing the night before she died and did not want to go back to that hospital because of how she was treated everytime she went there. The ER doctors are incompetent. The nurses on the 2nd floor are even more. My mother got better care at the Broadway hospital than she did at an upperend hospital. I have never left a review so negative in my life. But, I am now. Do not do not take your family there. And if you must, be demanding. Keep them on their toes. Question everything, make them answer your questions. Doubt be afraid to speak up. And if you have received bad service or neglet there, sue them! Sue them, sue them, sue them. They will not change till it hurts them in the wallet. Make complaints until every single piss poor employee is fired. And every employee that covers up the wrong doing is fired.

If you have a serious problem avoid this er. I have never been so shocked during an er visit in my life. I went in bc I had a swollen lymph node and pain in my lower right abdomen. I registered at check in and they got me back relatively quick as they advertise. I should have taken this as my first sign, but I didnt. After I had talked to the physician assistant, who I know know had to be an intern, a woman walked back asking if I had insurance. Why this could not have been done at the beginning or at the end, but instead during the visit was beyond me. I gave a urine sample and he briefly pressed on me where I continued to experience pain before I could even get changed. Then the nurse, who was the most pleasant part of this experience, brought me an antibiotic for my tooth/lymph node and yeast infection medicine. At no point did he even bother to do a pelvic exam or ultra sound, even though I had a medical history of having large cysts and havent had a real period in months (not as a result of pregnancy.) Any doctor with any common sense would know that large cysts can cause the fallopian tubes to twist cutting off blood supply to the ovary and rupturing can cause illness and fainting. However, there is no way to tell without an exam. This hospital is ok if you simply have a minor infection and need antibiotics, but if you have a serious problem go elsewhere. Your health is nothing to play with.

The er staff was great but thats the best I can say about this establishment. Once we got up to the floor it was horrible. It took over an hour to get pain meds for my wife when we called for them. I mean cmon people. Incompetent nursing is what we experienced here. My wife had an allergic reaction to an Iv antibiotic that she was given. Instead of stopping it the nurse went ahead and administered the next dose. When questioned about this I was told of she has Benadryl ordered and thats what its for. Im sorry when a pt has a reaction like this you dont keep giving the medication. The physicians here also are clueless. My wife had a uti and was also discovered she had 2 kidney stones. The urologist came in one time to see her. He said "oh I think you will pass this within a week or so". Really? So she is supposed to suffer in pain. He never came back to see us. I wanted to be able to talk to him about it but the man never came back. A couple days later they discharged her. Needless to say I called a urologist at Ut medical center the next day and my wife was seen the next day. Upon reviewing her the doctor couldnt believe nothing was done about her stones while she was a patient at Tennova. He scheduled surgery as soon as possible to remove them. Thank god we went to him. My wife is so much better now. We will never ever go back to Tennova.
