We started seeing Dr. Suh quite a few years ago when we first moved to Maryland. He was always so welcoming – we’d never hesitate to give him a call to ask him about whatever our latest worry was. The genuine care he’s shown us and our dog is something that so many pet owners are looking for but have trouble finding. We never had to wonder if his decisions were based on anything other than our dog’s best interests. If you’re an informed pet parent, you know what I mean. One of the hardest adjustments when we moved to New York five years ago was leaving Dr. Suh. No exaggeration, and case in point… Last weekend, our groomer noticed that our dog had a lump on his side. The vets in our area emphasized the likelihood that it was a tumor that needed to be removed right away, and the surgery would cost in the thousands. We were at our wits end and I kept thinking about how Dr. Suh would’ve handled this, so I just went ahead and called him. He remembered us and told us he’d be able to see us this week. We made the 4-5hour drive from New York to Maryland at the crack of dawn a couple days ago. Dr. Suh was as compassionate and thorough as ever, which helped calm our anxiety while he performed the surgery. As he had suspected, it was not a tumor (and our dog is fine!). Our bill was more than reasonable and far, far less than the estimates we’d received back in New York – but this is par for the course with Dr. Suh (pet parents, you KNOW how rare a reasonable vet bill is). We feel so fortunate to have Dr. Suh as an option even as we live this far away. Being able to trust the vet that’s responsible for your pet is definitely not something to take for granted. The distance hasn’t deterred us from driving 10 hours in a single day to get our dog checked out by Dr. Suh – and we live in a city that is well-stocked with brand name clinics and reputable vets. The reason being that he also goes above and beyond for those under his care.

UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF/DOCTOR My dog got a rash over his eye lid after the grooming and we took him to the vet to make sure hes OK. I was on my way to work and my sister took him to the vet but didnt have his pet insurance claim form. So I called and asked to see if I can email so they can fill out the form. The front desk staff said "oh no, we dont have a computer so you have to fax it" EXCUSE ME???? THIS IS 2017 AND YOU DONT HAVE A COMPUTER OR EMAIL??? HOW DO YOU GUYS OPERATE THE BUSINESS?? PLEASE TELL ME!!! Upon arrival, he knew he was at the vet and started to shiver and his anxiety kicked in. The doctor/staff didnt even care how scared he was but just brought him up to the table and examed him WITHOUT comforting him. They gave him (2) oral pills and (3) staff grabbed our dog (hes only 20 pounds/medium dog) and just shove down pills. This made him SUPER STRESSED OUT AND MADE HIM SORE. Next day, my dog is NOT doing so well. He is not eating, drinking, peeing, pooping, walking but just laying in his bed. I was so concerned about his condition and took him to Annapolis emergency vet hospital to make sure he is OK. The vet asked him what they gave him for the oral pills and looked at the invoice. They just put "ORAL PILLS" on the invoice and I dont even know what they gave him just looking at the invoice. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM. I CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT THEY GAVE HIM AND I HAVE TO CALL THEM BACK TO SEE WHAT THEY GAVE HIM DURING THE EXAM. Also, they dropped the pill on the ground and just pick it up like nothing happened and shove down the pills. This place is so unprofessional and my sister even told me that the doctor/staff rushed everything, didnt feel any love for the pets and I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK HERE. I am going to seek for another vet as I do not trust the doctor/staff here. They can literally kill my dog base on how they treat him!!

I had a very bad experience at Arbutus Veterinary Hospital. I bought my cat in so the vet can get a urine sample. When I asked when the results would be available Julia said she is not sure because she does not know if the lab will pickup the urine sample. That was a RED FLAG. They call me two days later stating I have to bring my cat in again to obtain a sample because they didnt know the lab was not picking up the sample. There was a lack of efficient operations which caused inconvenience of bringing in my stressed out cat to the vet again. Furthermore, my cats results were sent to Dr. Suh so he can provide feedback on a prescription. My cat was very ill and vomiting. She needed medicine right away. Julias response was that my file was inactivated and they cannot activate my files and prescribe medicine for my sick cat. I had no idea they inactivated my files and they said they cannot do anything for my sick cat. When I asked to speak to Dr. Suh and explain why my file was inactivated. The vet did not have interest in talking to me and Julia on the phone lacked any customer service skills. I am willing to spend good money to provide excellent care for my pets, but I will not give this vet any recommendations. I volunteer in animal welfare and when adopters ask me to recommend a vet, I will no longer suggest Dr. Suh and tell them to stay away. There are other vets in the areas that are more polished.

Thank you for taking care of our girl today! My family has been using this vet for years. The last few years I have been taking my dogs to another vet (because I moved and late hours). I recently moved back to the area and they are 5 min away. I particularly like this office because the DR. gives you his cell number if there are any issues with your pet after something serious and you dont break the bank if you need an emergency visit. Couple years ago my jack Russell had a reaction to one of his routine shots. I called them as soon as I realized and they told me to bring him back immediately. They were ready for him. I was scared to death I was about to lose my dog but they took care of him and kept me at ease.

friendly honest people. I had a very sick dog that we ended up having to put down but after he took blood tests he told me to go to paradise animal hospital because they have more technology because he knew she was very sick. I will still bring my animals here for routine and minor issues, my dog had an extremely rare blood blot that even paradise couldnt find at first and they had to bring a specialist in. Been bringing my dogs here my whole life they are very organized and dont play around, you are in and out and with dog owners busy schedules it means a lot. Everything is cheaper, if I took my dogs elsewhere for everything routine I would be broke.
