edit: they seemed to redeem themselves with how they handled this situation. I didnt have to pay for the eye exam or visit, just the contacts. Which I appreciated. They just started a new system, and I think this how the situation got confused. I scheduled an appointment three weeks ago. I live in Middletown and on my way to the appointment, they called me to cancel because the doctor didnt order any contacts for me. I was livid. They had three weeks to sort this out, and they wanted to cancel when I was 5 minutes away from the office. I refused and they brought me in, didnt fit me for any contacts. The manager did sit down and discuss with me what happened as there was a huge misunderstanding between the scheduling office and them. Still, it was very unorganised and I was told one thing and the complete opposite happened. Not sure where the disconnect came from, but I was not impressed. I am paying out of pocket for contacts and want to be treated fair & square as a customer. They were not cancelling my appointment because of an emergency but because they were unprepared.

I have NEVER experienced such bad customer service in my life. And let me I am old and have been to hundreds of Doctors appointments and this MY Eye Doctor thing is terrible.. I was promised 7-10 days and it is now 2 weeks and have been put on hold 2 times and can not be told if my glasses are in. Beware when you call the my Doctor number they are in a call center not the office. So plan on being on hold while they call the office. Then if you call the number for the Bear office you get leave a message. I will be leaving a message. I have never left a review before but this was necessary. I would recommend going elsewhere unless you want to be very frustrated and blind while waiting for your glasses.

I finally found the perfect eye doctor. Dr. Patrick Boyland was perfect! He went above and beyond my standards to assist me in finding out what was causing my ailments. He actually made sure that I was taken care of fully as opposed to other places where they just brushed me by, I was treated like a number at the other places, but Halpern now has a life long patient out of me.

Dr Boyland was AMAZING as usual! He has such a great patient care mannerism. Very personal, yet professional and really helps you learn about your eyes. A great location, good eye glass selection and wonderful staff (especially Tammy). I like how they are continuously changing their frame options, as well as running promotional offers.

I have gone to Halpern Eye Care for years, it is a really friendly and caring facility. The doctors take the time to explain what they are doing and also how it affects your eyes. Excellent eye docs.
