Pros: State of the art facility. Beautiful! Futuristic retro. Zero pressure to set-up the procedure. Gave me the an honest price (with tax included). Nice receptionists. Cons: Woman who ran a bunch of tests on my eyes was like a robot. Obviously just reciting from a script as she went about her business. Ive worked in sales before and I know a script when I hear it. Very impersonal. Is it that hard to just interact with people, thats one of the reasons I left sales? The eye exam from the Dr. (not Whiting) was the worst Ive ever had. He had me look though that periscope looking thing (dont know the name of it). He would flip through the lenses and stop for literally a split second on one lens and then switch to the next lens asking me which one was clearer. I couldnt compare them when I didnt have time look at the first choice. On top of that his finger was in the way blocking my view of the chart on the first choice half the time. I had to ask him a few times to go back. Slow down dude! Gimmicks. I was shown the operating room and told I could choose a wall color because they can cast different color lights on the wall. HUH? Maybe others are dazzled by that but what do I care what color the wall is, especially when the procedure only takes a few minutes? If anything let the Dr. pick the wall color. Hes the one operating. I think I was told I could choose the music too. Wow, Ill get to listen to a few songs of my choice. My biggest complaint off all. DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING!!!! Its not just Whiting Clinic it seems its the whole industry. They advertise $595 per eye but everyone I talk to says they are lured in by the $595 per eye pricing only to be told they dont qualify for the procedure and have to get a more expensive procedure that costs over twice as much. I knew that going in to my consultaion. However last week I got a coupon pack in the mail and found a coupon for $500 dollars off Lasik at Whiting. GREAT!!!!! I have just enough to pay for the procedure and call to set it up. I inform them about the coupon and they tell me, Oh no, THATs for most expensive procedure we have. I cant use it for my procedure. Once again DECEPTION, unless you happen to be in the know and know that the small print on the coupon "ALL LASER" lasik means their most expensive procedure. But how would anyone know that. I REFUSE to be a victim and play along. I told them to forget it. Im really bummed because I was excited to get the procedure done. Too bad Whiting runs his place like that. Ill look else where in the slim chance I find a place more honest. Looks like Im sticking with contacts for the foreseeable future. Im sure I would have nothing but good results if I had it done at Whiting. My sister had it done there and they did a good job. Im just upset about not being able to use the $500 coupon. I left sales because I couldnt stand practices like that so take my 1 rating for what its worth.

I just had my Lasik procedure done yesterday by Dr. David Whiting at Whiting Clinic, and I couldnt be more thrilled with the results! I have thought about having Lasik done on my eyes for several years now, and about two months ago I decided to start the process of calling around to the top rated Lasik clinics in the Twin Cities to get more information, including making a call to the Whiting Clinic. I got all of my questions answered in a caring, patient, and professional manner, which I really appreciated. One of the many questions I asked over the phone was about costs involved with having the procedure. I was walked through Whiting Clinics pricing (which is very competitive with the other top clinics in the area, by the way), and given the full and truthful information about the costs of the procedures they provide. I was happy to learn that I was able to pay for the procedure using my health savings account (HSA) through work, that was definitely a plus. My phone experience was so positive, I knew I wanted to continue the process with the Whiting Clinic. I also appreciated the very central location of the clinic in St. Louis Park - easy to get to, right off Hwy 394 and Louisiana Avenue. I went in to have my free consultation, which was very thorough and well done. I didnt feel like I was being rushed or pushed through the process at any time. All of the professionals I encountered at the clinic seemed to really care about me and the health of my eyes, which felt refreshing - I wasnt just another number, but a real person. I found out I was a good candidate for the Lasik procedure, and I proceeded to schedule my Lasik appointment for a few weeks later. The day I came in for the procedure (yesterday), I was extremely nervous, but I was immediately put at ease when I entered the clinic. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere of the beautiful clinic is immaculate - clean and very zen. I met with a technician who walked me through the after care of the procedure - eye drops for healing over several days, etc. Then I met with Dr. Whiting, who was extremely helpful in explaining the procedure and calming my nerves. The actual procedure was only about 3 minutes per eye (amazing!), and I didnt feel any pain, but just mild discomfort - nothing major at all. As I type this review, less than 24 hours after my Lasik procedure, I can see well without my glasses that Ive been bound to for so many years! No discomfort - I feel completely normal and can see really well. What an amazing, freeing, and overall excellent experience! I would recommend the Whiting Clinic to anyone and everyone for their Lasik procedure - absolute excellence from that first phone call I made a few months back to gather information to now, the day after my procedure. Thank you, Dr. Whiting and all of the clinic staff - my life is changed for the better, and I couldnt be more thrilled with my entire experience and the amazing results!

I had my LASIK done on Oct 25th this year and I could not be happier =) I waited to write a review until everything was completely settled down and nothing new had come up for a while. My vision before LASIK was pretty bad - I had an astigmatism in one eye and couldnt read anything more than 12" away from my face.. if not worse. I couldnt see my alarm clock. I couldnt see TV from bed. Pretty bad. Anyway, I had my LASIK done and went straight home and kept my eyes closed even if I couldnt sleep(WHICH YOU DEFINITELY SHOULD DO - I also wore my sunglasses around the house for a few days - my eyes just felt better with less light). I had a decent amount of red(bruising) on the whites on my eyes and I called them to make sure it was ok - and they told me it was definitely normal and nothing wrong. I went back the next day, and drove myself, and my vision was great. Got blurry here and there but that is also normal. The calendar they give you for your Rx eyedrops is GREAT and was a lifesaver when I couldnt remember what I had done! (And I didnt notice on the sheet - they tell you to use your lubricating eye drops as often as possible and at night there is actually a lubricating ointment. That stuff helped a lot - but you have to put it in and close your eyes because its super thick and you cant see through it.) My 2(3?) week checkup was great - by then I was still seeing great and the blurry on/off had stopped. Eyes still pretty dry at times. Closeup vision wasnt anything like it used to be. The doctor actually explained to me that when you are nearsighted, you can actually see better up close than most people can and thats why I dont have SUPER AMAZING close-up vision anymore. But I am SUPER OK with that! My next visit, 4 week checkup, I was told no more restrictions and my eyes measured in at 20/15! Here I am, just over a month later, and still could not be happier! I do still have semi dry eyes but use eye drops through the day as needed. I feel this is the best decision I have ever made and I cant stop referring people to Whiting. I had a wonderful experience and amazing results and could not have asked for more. Never hesitate to ask them anything - they are all incredibly nice and informative and definitely worth a consult if you have ever thought about LASIK!
