$300.00 for an routine eye exam. This is a yearly routine eye exam. After I got the bill I called around and checked other eye doctors explained my bill and asked what they would of charged and for the same exact exam it would of only cost me my $10 copy. Here is the breakout of the bill. $230 Comprehensive Exam $161 United Healthcare covers $69 I have to pay $65 Refraction $0 United Healthcare covers $65 I pay so $134 Total I paid and $161 health insurance paid. The same exam including the refraction would of cost me $10 (my copay) at most any other eye doctor. Eye exams are routine and any eye doctor can do them. I actually saw an assistant for 15 minutes for the eye test and an eye doctor for 10 minutes for the eye light exam....so they are making $600 an hour. When I called the billing department they said I was charged extra because I have floaters in my right eye. Yes I know this...Ive had them for 10 years and many people have them at my age. The dr. looked in my Rt eye for a total of 2 maybe 3 minutes...the same time frame as the left eye. So your saying that because he saw floater he can charge me $124? It took him no more time for the eye exam. Good luck and please do your own research (call around) so you dont get ripped off. I actually had my Lasik done there over 10 years ago and they did a great job, but when it comes to something like an eye exam, save your money and go somewhere else.

Honestly, I started coming here as a child under my parents preference, and I cant say that Ive ever necessarily had a "good" experience, especially as Ive grown into an adult taking myself to get my eyes checked. Ive been wearing contacts since I was 13, and glasses since I was 8. Im now 25. The last time I went in, the contact/glasses specialist told me that I needed to pay for my glasses at the fitting when I had already paid for them at my first appointment before the frames were even sent out for lenses. There have been countless dumb issues that have popped up consistently over the years, mainly with payment issues that should be very simple. Its nothing against the technicians or receptionists because they are all lovely people, who for the greater part, really care the most about your ability to leave Fichman being able to see, but for some reason there is NO organization at this eye center, and its an actual problem. You should never be accused of essentially trying to steal glasses when youve paid for over six pairs of glasses, countless contacts, and bi-yearly exams as a patient for almost 20 years. If you choose to come here, just be ready for long waits, and have your receipts, etc with you.

I had Lasix done back in 2000 and everything went very smoothly. I was a little nervous and a bit uncomfortable, but it wasnt too bad. I was better than 20-20 and am still happy with the results. Last year, I brought my 18 year old son and he had a wonderful experience with great results - he couldnt see the largest "E" on the eye chart before his surgery and hes now 20-30. My one and only complaint is with the follow-up appointments. We have never, ever been seen on time and so far have had to wait for over an hour each of three separate visits. Just dont make any plans too soon after a scheduled follow-up!

The Manchester office is not well run, there is only one doctor that I saw working the day I was there for my appointment. My appointment time was 9:15 and I didnt see the doctor till 11:15. I waited 45 mins to see a licensed staff who preformed my eye exam. After which I waited another 25 mins to see the doctor, who never introduced himself just sat down and barely said anything to me, HORRIBLE bed-side manor. He looked into my eyes, and said ok your eyes look healthy you can go out to the optical center and order your contacts. I would not recommend this place for an eye exam!

While previous reviews about the quality of the front staff are pretty accurate (not so professional and a bit scattered) I do have to rate this establishment based on results. I had my eyes done (lasik intralase) 3 days ago and my vision is now 20/20. The price of the procedure includes all follow up visits and they even gave me the necessary pre and post op eye medications free when I told them my insurance wouldnt cover prescriptions. The results dont lie- I couldnt be happier with the work they did at Fichman.

I went in on February 18th for an eye exam, bought myself a pair of sunglasses with my prescription and im STILL waiting for them to come in. My regular glasses came in alot faster than my sunglasses. I also paid 300 just to get lenses put in sunglasses that i havent even got to use. I keep calling and all they have been saying is they will call me when they are in.

I recently initiated a dispute over a refund due me. Due to my confusion and lack of clarity on the part of my bank, I was undeniably wrong. Dr Fichmans office was extremely patient with me and resolved the confusion. I heartily apologize to Dr Fichmans office for any previous negative reviews I submitted.

Have gone to the Manchester location for an eye exam and glasses twice. Both times the prescriptions were wrong and my glasses had to be returned and fixed after being re-examined. The second visit was worse. Would I have Lasik eye surgery done by someone that botched glasses -- twice?
