UPDATE: My Vet at South Seattle Vet Hospital ran blood tests and found My Husky was suffering from pancreatitis! Mystery solved. Why couldnt VCA just drop the authoritative/bureaucratic act and just given my dog some care? Original Story: My 4 year old Husky has been acting "cranky". One day she bit a dog at the Wescrest dog park, and the next morning bit my son in the face as my son was laying on top of her. I wanted to check if there were underling medical reasons or pain that contributed to the sudden aggression before I considered euthanasia. I walked in with no appointment, Every other vet Ive ever gone to always operated this way and figured given the circumstances, they might squeeze me in. The two vets were "out for lunch" but when I told them why I was there, the receptionist told me "Ill be right back." The female Vet, (forgot the name) that I had never met before, came up and shook my hand, asked me to come into the exam room where we could talk privately. She had nothing helpful to say, but instead started getting all bureaucratic on me telling me I better take my son to the Dr and call animal control, ON MY OWN DOG!!!! I was dumbfounded! The conversation deteriorated and turned into a debate about whether or not yearly booster vaccinations are necessary, and I eventually said "You know? Im feeling uncomfortable so Im going to go to another vet." I thanked her for her time and left. Well guess what she goes and does next? She calls Animal Control!!! Im having to deal with Animal Control now. On my voice-mail this morning, the officer working on my case received a fax from the Department of Health with a statement saying something about how "I dont believe in the vaccination." EXCUSE ME? This is ludicrous and unfounded!!! Im not positive, but possibly DEFAMATORY!!! As a result, my Husky is on a 10 day rabies quarantine. I cant even take her to the vet to check for an underling medical condition that might make a formerly sweet dog, mean. Ive raised my two babies with this dog. The bite wasnt even substantial. A couple scrapes under his eyes and thats about it. The teeth never broke through ALL the layers of the skin. My 8 week old Puppy (who is now 4mo old and up to date on his vaccinations) has done more damage!!! It left red marks, but not an ounce on blood was dropped. Certainly nothing I would take my kids to the Doctor for. Im not even sure if her report to Animal Control was called for. I feel my privacy has been unjustifiably violated. I wouldnt trust going back to that Vet. I caution others to avoid VCA in West Seattle, UNLESS you LOVE having Big Brother in your life. Seriously? Who would call Animal Control on their own, vaccinated, dog?

The entire team at VCA took such good care of me. I was rescued in April 2016 in Denton TX by Emerald City Pet Rescue. I stayed in TX until August while I waited for the next transport to bring me to Seattle. When I got here they discovered I had a moderate case of heartworm so I was sent to VCA where I stayed during the 2 months of treatment. In September I was adopted by this nice lady who was looking for a new fur baby. After I was adopted we discovered that I needed a few more visits to VCA to make sure I was heartworm free. Over the past few months we made the drive from Everett to West Seattle for overnight stays, treatments and blood draws, and finally for my spay. The spay was a major event because I could not have it done until the heartworm was all gone. Each time we went to VCA they treated my like family which made my new person very happy. Last Thursday was my spay and my last visit to VCA, and when we left all of the people who worked there said their goodbyes. This made my new person cry because she was so glad that they took such good care of me before we met. So VCA, from me and my new person we thank you so much for your love and care before and after my adoption. Hugs and kisses from your friend Bayou.

We took our animals here for close to 10 years, it was a rotating clip of Vets at this facility, some super caring, some just average. We had a bad experience with a procedure on a very loved elderly cat; and that ended our patience with this place. We moved our care over to Lien Clinic and it is like night and day. One big criticism of VCA that other reviewers have, we share...too many fees, too many tests, too many costs embedded in, even with simple well-animal checkup. Lien is a family owned clinic; VCA is corporate owned, and that makes a huge difference in the customer service in our experience. I want to stress that many of the negative things we hated about VCA have to do with the corporate fees and policies. Most of the Vets themselves seemed to have been caring doctors personally (with one exception that we had the very bad issue with.) Maybe that is why so many Vets have come and gone from VCA....they didnt like the setup either. We are very happy at Liens now and so are the animals.

Has anyone else had issues with VCA!! West Seattle? I feel as if they are more for the money than they are for the pet care. So do not go to VCA West Seattle if you love your Pet. I took my cat there for his second booster shot of the series and at the end was given a fee of $142 dollars for cleaning his ears?????? They ran tests without my consent and knowledge of what they were doing. This was very unprofessional, I felt as if they were Swooping in and charging me for stuff that I was unaware of while I was distracted tending to my Kitty. They also wanted to charge me $300 to have my cat nuetered, (thats without the fees) but I took him to Vets For Less and they provided very professional service, they were friendly and supportive, and it was only $50, so you do the math. VCA staff is not very attentive, it took them a week to mail us our labs that came in the next day. So my point is VCA Ripped us off please do your homework when it comes to picking a vet. Dont let them rip you off too.

Agree with many other WORST VET IN SEATTLE!! I took my dog in for a simple bladder infection that needed an another round of antibiotics. While taking a sample of her urine they injured her urethra. Basically my dog went in walking fine just having to urinate one or two extra times a day to not being able to walk after the exam. She is 120 pounds of love and seeing her sad eyes in pain was horrific. After my phone call they said I would have to bring her back, there was no way I would be able to lift her into the car myself. Finally got her to an emergency vet and after some additional pain meds, antibiotics for their injury to her along with additional antibiotics for the bladder infection and weeks of healing she was finally okay. DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE. Had many conversation with them and their assessment was she needed a full neurological work up and might have arthritis. Seriously she just turned 5 and didnt have an issue until the exam.
