This place is just terrible. My pet bunny was a bit sick last night. She stopped eating so it was her GI system issue. We have another bunny at home who has had a similar issue before so we knew we just needed to give her the same medication, so we took her there. We did a check-in and the receptionist said it would be a 45-min wait so we waited. In 20 mins, she comes out and says the doctor thinks its better for us to go to another ER in Cambell without even looking at her. The bogus reason is he thinks any GI issue is so serious that the animal has to stay over night (this is so not the case i have experienced in the past. My other bunny has been to an ER twice for the same reason and it was just a simple treatment each time) and they close around 8:30 so they cant take her in. We said we would prefer to wait there instead of going to another ER which is 30 mins away. They insisted we leave so then we went to the Cambell location but then the location was temporarily closed. We then had to rush to another location in San Jose, which this Mountain View ER initially advised us to not go to because they close at 8:30am the next morning too. We had no other option so we went to the San Jose location. When we did a check-in, the nurse took her in for vital checks. In 15 mins, the doctor came out all worried. She started questioning us whether our bunny had other issues than not eating. We said no and told her she just needed some meds for her GI problem. Then the doctor said our bunny had just broken her back getting out of her carrier. Can you believe it? What kind of craziness is this? My bunny is a 6 month-old tiny dwarf bunny, who is always scared. I couldnt believe that they werent careful enough that she ended up breaking her back. The San Jose location is terrible to not be careful handling our bunny but I am so upset with this Mountain View ER about turning down to see our bunny and sending us off to another hospital with some bogus reason. If they had been really seriously worried about my bunny being that sick, they should have checked on her first before rejecting us. It would have been a simple problem to take care of but they turned this into our nightmare. We dont know if our bunny will be okay. For sure, she will never be able to walk or run again. I just hope she will survive. I read some other reviews about this ER and it looks like a pattern that this ER puts off animals to other hospitals for whatever reason at a given time. They get high grating from the patients that they choose to be nice with but you have to think twice if you want to take your pet to this ER. You might not be a chosen one.

my 10month old kitten was rushed into the emergency clinic when she had issues with breathing. They let us sat outside for 1hour and 45minutes and simply put her on oxygen. We asked over and over again how she was doing, they just said very bad and nothing more. We then sat in the waiting room for a doctor for over 25minutes, when he finally came, he had no clue what was wrong with the kitten, not even a guess. He then proceed to take x-rays of our kitten, without telling us how much it costs of course. And then had us looked over the x-rays with him, he simply said the situation was bad and there were fluids all over her chest, he then went ahead to extract the fluid sample to see what it was, we asked him how long it would take, he said 5mins and he will have the result. Instead, we sat and waited for over 25mins, scared and worried. He came in with the samples and said it looks like puses (the best result of all) and that it would be treatable but expensive. Soon after the nurse came in to go over the costs with us, no more than 10mins later, they rush in and told us our kitten was crushing. All the way from the second she was submitted till she passed away, they continue to call her a *him/he* even though we correctly them multiple times. When we were left alone to spend some private time with her kitten after she passed away, their nurse came in to go over the bills with us. When the doctor came in, he was cruel and had no kind words of the situation, he said that no matter what it wouldnt have been treatable, which contradicts what he said when our kitten was still alive.. Please also beware the cost is high, its a $97-$100 just for starting off, oxygen treatment was $55 at the end of the night, our bill was $530. Please ask about the cost if money may be a problem for you early on, they would not tell you how much anything would cost themselves/

Our very small Yorkshire terrier travelled with us to California over Christmas and was taken ill during our stay. Our initial contact with this hospital was by phone and the person who took our call listened to our concerns and then suggested we bring Stanley in immediately. When we arrived at the clinic, we barely walked in the door when we were greeted and Stanley was given a quick cursory exam prior to our even filling out the necessary paperwork. This act, along with the phone conversation, instilled immediate confidence in our choice of clinic. From then on, everyone we came in contact with was fabulous. They admitted Stanley immediately and began his treatment. This was on Christmas Eve so you can imagine our relief to find them open and able to take care of him so quickly. With a dog as small as Stanley, one cannot afford to lose any time prior to treatment. During Stanleys stay, we were told to call anytime and to feel free to visit him if we so desired. The doctor who treated Stanley was very knowledgeable and clearly loved her vocation. When she learned that we were to travel to Yosemite on December 26 and were concerned about leaving Stanley in a kennel, she offered to have him stay at the clinic until we got back. This was incredibly helpful as then we knew if Stanley started to deteriorate again, he would have immediate access to medical care. We have the highest regard for everyone we came in contact with and cannot recommend this clinic too highly. Finally, we found the pricing for an emergency vet clinic to be very reasonable.

Id rate it lower if possible. Short version: we take our older Berner in after a series of seizures (3 in two hours); the duty vet takes the standard path which includes Valium (3 ml) and phenobarbital (5 ml) but she doesnt seem to be able to wait for it to take effect without pushing more into him; after another hour of her wanting to put him down, my wife bails him out (after $1000 bill) and brings him back home. 18 hours later he is now recovering from the standard symptoms of phenobarbital but with no seizures (yet) and also no prescription or blood work to determine a proper dosage. No call back from the vet. An initial call to get results from blood work and x-rays resulted in contact with an office moron who seemed to take it personally that I even wanted to know the results. With time to read online references on dogs and seizures, not convinced this was the best that veterinary medicine has to offer. Stay clear of this place unless you know the vet. Lots of them are working part time here with practices elsewhere.
