Jill seems like a good vet. The staff is nice and the location is great. The main (and big) problem is communication. We take our dog there so when we took over the care of my grandmas outdoor cat I called them for a tapeworm injection. The office manager told me it would cost between $15 and $25, which I thought was great, so I made the appointment for the next morning. We talked about doing a stool sample on the big cat and our kitten but he never mentioned any extra cost. I knew the were both clear of anything but I figured better safe than sorry. I asked him again about the cost and he said $15 to $25, never mentioning the stool check. I guess its my fault for not explicitly asking how much they charge per cat to check stool samples because when she was done, we were charged $75 instead of the original $25. The days of doing anything for the sake of courtesy and good business are long gone. I normally take a "suck it up and move on" attitude with this kind of thing but the office manager called about ten minutes after I submitted a feedback survey that they had emailed me. Instead of apologizing for not giving me the an accurate quote, he said it was my fault for bringing the samples in. He said he thought I would bring them in when I got the cats vaccinated. I have no idea where he got that from since we never once talked about vaccinating either cat. Basically, he used a conversation that never happened to justify not telling me how much the treatment would really cost until it had already been done. Ill even give him the benefit of the doubt and say that the vaccination talk may have slipped my mind. He still should have told me that if and when I brought the samples in, it would cost $25/cat to check. Thats his job and his failure to do it cost me $50 that I never agreed to. I know my opinion has absolutely no bearing on how they run their business, but it is really sad that ethical and moral business standards have dropped so low that its ok to blame the customer when you dont care enough to do your job right.

Ive taken a multitude of animals to Wea Animal Hospital. Dr. Bair is great to work with. She is extremely knowledgable, listens intently to concerns about the animal being examined, great at diagnosing, and open to discussion regarding treatment options. The staff is friendly, professional, and courteous. I always enjoy chatting with them when I have an appointment or waiting to pick up an animal after surgery. My bill for services rendered has never fallen outside the estimate the staff and/or the doc have provided... and Im in there almost every month with either my animals, foster animals, or newly abandoned animals. The medical care provided by Wea Animal Hospital is affordable!! This is greatly appreciated by me and my multi-cat household :). Finally, I enjoy the minimal 15 minute drive from my house when I have appointments. I think Wea Animal Hospitals location is perfect for Lafayettes south side, conveniently located on S. 18th just off Veterans Memorial Highway.

High quality facility with caring, attentive staff. My cat was feeling unwell and Dr. Childress fit us in right away. She follows up by phone to check on my cat, provides a balanced, unbiased perspective on treatment outlooks, and takes the time to get to know our fluff. Would highly recommend for Purdue students and area natives alike.

I brought my cat here for dental surgery (two canine extractions). Dr. Childress had her finished in under 2 hours after we dropped her off, sent her home with easy to use medications for recovery, and did a wonderful job. I can tell that staff here truly cares about the animals they care for, and your pets are in good hands here!

I love this place! The quality for the price is amazing and the vets here are excellent. We shopped around for a vet for a long time while we lived in Lafayette, we live an hour away now and still come back to see Dr Childress and Dr Bair and will for the foreseeable future. The staff and veterinarian were very friendly. The veterinarian (Dr. Jill Bair) was very knowledgeable and courteous. I would definitely return here again. My only complaint was the wait time. I had an appointment, but I had to wait 15 minutes in the examination room for the doctor to come. Perhaps this is a typical wait time.

Dr. Jill is the a trusted ally in our families lives. She has cared for our animals for many years. When she made the move to open her own clinic we followed her from Danville to Lafayette, adding about 35 minutes to our commute. When you find someone you can trust as much as we trust Dr. Jill you will make the extra effort.
