My husband and I made an appointment for our Boxer mix after he had gotten bitten by other dogs. At the time of the incident we cleaned and wrapped his wounds, and a week later he was scabbing nicely with no visible signs of infection, but his behavior had changed. As much as we dont trust most doctors, human or otherwise, because of our past experiences with them, we made an appointment just to explore if he may be having an emotional response to the trauma hed gone through. We called and got an appointment time the very next day. The vet tech was very knowledgeable and suggested that we give our dogs their boosters at this time. The vet agreed that the problem may be psychological but he wanted to rule out physical pain first. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory and an antibiotic just to be safe, but recommended holding off on our Boxers booster shots in case he might have an adverse reaction to something in the pills. The vet tech suggested that since we had our Chihuahua mix with us (we didnt want to leave her in an empty house by herself) and that since our Boxer wasnt getting his shots today that we could update our little dogs shots while we had her there instead. After initially being hesitant about a vet visit, we had a great experience with the veterinarian, a pleasant interaction with the vet tech, quick service at our appointment time, two prescriptions for our Boxer, and two booster shots for our Chihuahua for less than half the cost I was anticipating. AND the office called this morning to see how our Boxer had been adjusting to his prescriptions! This office has blown us away, and as long as we live here, we will sing their praises and never go anywhere else for our fur babies.

Everyone at VCA Olympic Animal Hospital is fantastic; from reception, to the vet techs, to Dr. Dammeyer - and the other vet we saw, Dr. Ryan. Weve had our golden retriever a few times in the last year, from a normal yearly checkup, to a pair of emergencies - a split nail and a crazy staph infection that came out of nowhere. Each time, the staff there has been fantastic - greeting us and our dog like were family, taking care of us like were family - and never, ever letting us leave without answering all of our questions (in fact. Dr. Ryan was so thorough in his explanation that we almost wanted him to stop talking -- its one hell of a great "problem" to have -- an animal medical professional who wants to make sure you know exactly what is going on and exactly how theyre going to treat it?! It was fabulous!) Were moving soon and we wont have our pets back again, but I cant stress enough how great VCA Olympic has been to us. The prices were very reasonable (especially coming from Denver, where we usually paid about two to three times what we paid here!), the staff friendly, thorough, and you can tell right from the beginning that they really, really care about their patients and their families.

I just moved to Silverdale from Texas, and was not looking forward to finding a new vet after going to the same one for 14 years. I had a coupon for a free first exam and decided to give them a try. I am so glad I did! Dr. D... (I cant pronounce/spell his name!) was absolutely wonderful with my 6 month old great pyr/anatolian puppy, as was the amazing staff. Everyone was extremely helpful and I loved that no one tried to upsell me on expensive services like so many vets do. On my way out I checked their cost for boarding and it was very reasonable. I am so glad I went to them; it was just like going to our vet back home!

I was with Olympic Animal Hospital years ago until it was sold to a national chain and my veterinarian moved on. Then I went elsewhere. I went to a different clinic where Dr. Mike Ryan and his wife worked. Dr. Ryan spent less and less time at this other hospital but more time at Olympic. So I returned. I guess the only thing better would be to have his wife, Dr. Mardelle Ryan (I hope I spelled that right) also working there! The staff are very cheerful and helpful and my dog and cat feel about as comfortable, I guess, as any animal can when they know theyre about to be poked and prodded.

Great and friendly customer service. Clean environment. They truly do care for your pet and not so much just about the money. Didnt take advantage of me or pressure me into anything more but worked with me with what I could to and get the most results. Kept me updated every step of the way during my cats experience.

We thought we had found our new Veterinary Clinic. On bringing our dog in the male veterinarian was so good. However upon picking up our dog the next day the female veterinarian that had such a bad rapport and bedside manner that we will never return to this Clinic.

We have been with Dr. Dammeyer for 24 years, even when he worked at another clinic. He is a great vet and I dont feel like Ive been up-sold services at every turn. The staff is always friendly and kind. I highly recommend them!

They have been great with our two dogs! Whenever we travel we board them here as we know our 12 yr. old Yorkie is in good hands. Staff is great and they really care about your pets well being.
