For two weeks I was having what I thought were bad eye allergies. I had no plans to see an eye doc but things were getting worse, not better. So I called Ascent Eyes and spoke with the doctor there. He told me to come in and that it didn’t sound like typical allergies. I still didn’t want to go in but my vision seemed to be getting worse and I didn’t want to risk it. Ascent Eyes got me in that same day. It was most certainly not allergies. Turns out the middle layer of my eye was so inflamed that the colored part of my eye was sticking to the lens in my eye! I had no idea but this was a legit medical eye emergency and some vision loss could be permanent if not treated. While I was in the exam room, Dr. McDaniel put several drops in my eyes and my eye was actually feeling better by the time I got home from the pharmacy (to pick up 2 different drug prescriptions). In the end, I went back 3 different times and things are completely back to normal now. It was scary to find out how serious things were and I immediately become nervous. That didn’t last long at all. Both Dr. McDaniel and Thomas made me feel comfortable and relaxed. They were confident my eye would getter and they explained exactly what was going on and how the treatment would progress. That was a great relief for me. Now that this problem is over I am very excited to go back for my regular vision exam and get glasses. The glasses here are the best I’ve seen anywhere. They have very high end stuff that is not for the budget conscious (one line was Gold and Wood and are made out of exotic woods, reclaimed bison horn, and high end metals). There are several lines that are hand made by small companies, in Italy, France, and the US where you can literally see and feel the quality in the frames. There are a ton of Ray-Ban and Oakley options. The selection is the highest quality and most fashion focused I’ve seen. Even when I went in the first time and was in pain, I couldn’t help but notice the design and feel of the place. It’s different than any eye doc/optical out there. It is more like a piece of art than a medical facility. When you schedule an exam with them they will literally tell you “we do things differently here…” You have to experience it to understand but they are right on. They explained to me how everything in the office was designed to make the patient experience special and not to make the doctor’s or employees jobs easier. Now that I’ve experienced it, I get it. No air puff tests (I HATE that test), a dropless eye exam, and no waiting. Really – no waiting. You walk in and check in for a couple of minutes and you don’t even sit down. You are immediately taken back to be seen. In every way my experience with Ascent Eyes was fantastic.

In looking for an alternative to the optical chain store experience, and having read not-so-stellar reviews of the optometrists available in the Aurora area that carry Davis Vision insurance, I broadened my search and am so glad that I did. All the reviews I read couldnt possibly be true... could they? YES! Upon first walk through of their frames, I was gulping, gasping, wondering if wed made a mistake; were on a budget - even with insurance. Thomas Cervantes (ABO Certified Optician) was On It. He pulled out frame after frame in a price range that we could afford and in styles that my family wanted. Dr. John McDaniel (OD, MLHR) answered question after question, never once making us feel like we were a nuisance. They listen. And they actually return your call (how often does that happen anymore!?). They have designer frames for those who desire such (from Oakley to Prada) and frames for Working Joes like my family. We live on the eastern plains, so the drive is a long one for us, but so worth it. Not many opticians carry Davis Vision Insurance. Ascent Eyes in Parker does and they deserve the 5 stars Im giving them.

I had the most incredible experience at Ascent Eyes. Dr. McDaniels is an absolute expert in his field. I suffer from a certain eye condition that is common but was never given good information about it from any other eye place I have been to until Ascent Eyes. I left feeling at ease about what I have and whatcan do to help it. The knowledge I gained was invaluable to me. Dr. McDaniels also spent the time I needed with him. He was patient and kind and answered every question I had. Thank you Doc. Thomas is the other gentleman you will work with there while getting glasses or even setting an appointment. Once again Thomas is extremely knowledgeable and super awesome!! I do not know his title but basically he does everything. He helped me pick out a great pair of glasses and was extremely patient. The first pair he recommended happened to be the ones I got!! And I love them!! I work long hours and Thomas stayed late for me one night so I could get my glasses. They have to be adjusted to you and Thomas did mine. I highly recommend this business to everyone!!

This was my daughters first experience with an eye doctor so I was a little nervous especially since this was my first time at Ascent Eyes. Dr. McDaniel and Thomas made us both feel at ease even using the various machines to check our eyes. They guarantee your exam in 25 minutes and they hit the mark, if not under but we never felt rushed. Both gentlemen were patient and took their time answering our questions (even the non-related ones from my daughter!) Choosing frames for me is always a process and Thomas took his time with me and was very honest, which I appreciate. Additionally he worked out many different options for me based on my insurance and my need (or want) of multiple frames. Great selection of frames, too! I had so many that I wanted.

I love Ascent Eyes so much, they are so patient and understanding and really just want to make sure you are happy. I just went in today because the paint on my glasses was starting to fade just a little on the nose area, something very minor. Thomas was so understanding and helped me out with fixing that on my glasses, even though it was something very small and insignificant! I cant wait to go in for an actual appointment, as I know they will be so friendly and professional. I definitely recommend this place if youre looking for an eye doctor, they care for their customers very much and will be sure to help you out, no matter what the problem is.

Walked in to see about getting glasses with them because my old eye doctor does not take my insurance. Thomas was very helpful, he said that they would be more than happy to help me out. He called my old eye doctor and got my prescription sent right over, he helped me find new glasses that I JUST LOVE, and when trying glasses on he made me feel very at ease. He gave me his honest opinion and help me make the right choice. I am supper happy that I came in to see these guys and they will be my new eye doctor for sure!! Trust me if you need your eyes taken care of, THIS IS THE PLACE!!! Thank you guys! Rachel
