FEB 2nd 2017 Value Vet Visit Friday I took my 2 little boy yorkies Harley and Bentley to get their teeth cleaned into a local vet in hermitage that I have been using for years. When I dropped them off at 7:30am I was very verbal about my fear in them pulling their teeth and that I did not want them to just pull a bunch of teeth without calling me. This was due to the same vet pulling 4 teeth in the front of Harleys mouth years before without consulting me. I showed up last time and his teeth were gone! Nothing I could do then. SO this time I was clear about what needed to happen if they even thought about pulling any teeth. I said simply call me and go over things with me. The girl there at ValueVet assured me not to worry and that they would call if they needed to not to worry. We got a call that afternoon from the VET FRI at 12:30 pm to advised Bentley had 3 loose teeth in the front that could have root exposure and would be painful if they were not removed. We agreed to let them pull 3 teeth. So I called about 4pm to see if I could come to get my dogs and they said yes. When I got there they advised that I needed to wait because the DR. (Vet) wanted to discuss things with me? I started to feel like something was wrong. She called me over to an area where they had done the work and had a layout of towels with pieces of flesh and teeth that literally looked like a horror movie! I started freaking out and said these are not my dogs teeth are they???!!! Bloody mess of teeth on towels that she started to try to explain why they pulled all of their teeth!!!!! I was in complete SHOCK! THEY PULLED ALL OF THEIR TEETH OUT BUT 2 in Harleys Mouth and ALL BUT 3 IN Bentleys Mouth. I couldnt even speak, I was horrified. I was in tears for my babys. Bentley is only 6 and Harley is 9. They stood there and tried to tell me this was for the health of my pet!!!! I was like ....WHY WHY WHY didnt you call me AGAIN. I would have never agreed to you doing this to my dogs NEVER!! YOU CALLED ME AND SAID YOU WERE PULLING 3 TEETH ON BENTLEY?? THIS WAS MY FEAR WITH YOU GUYS BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU DID LAST TIME!!!! I NEVER GAVE YOU AUTHORIZATION TO DO THIS TO MY DOGS IT IS BARBARIC!! I could not believe what was happening. I told them to give me my dogs and had to leave immediately. She yelled at me that it would be 700.00 dollars MR MASON. I yelled BILL ME! I WAS COMPLETELY STUCK IN A NIGHTMARE. I left with my dogs and called the business and asked for them to contact me in regard to what they did and I wanted to speak to the owner. WE got a call yesterday from the VET who did this and she left a message checking on my dogs and said we have a bill to pay with them. She ignored my complaints and what happened all together and is asking for money. Its not the money were worried about its the fact this has happened twice at the same place and this time I was clear about them not pulling teeth and they did it anyway. Not just a few but almost every tooth on both of our dogs.

When Value Vet in Hermitage first opened I was really excited to try them out due to such high costs of annual exams other places. I took my chihuahua for her annual exam and shots. We were there for over 2 hours along with a few others. The staff seemed very unsure of what they were doing and the vet took forever to finally get to us, even though we had an appointment. However, I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they had just opened (they didnt even have their waiting room seating in yet!). It wasnt until 8 months later when I tried to get a prescription for heartworm medicine that I had a major problem. First, I was told that my dog had never seen a vet. I have a receipt that says she had her exam, I remember seeing a vet, and we waited 2 HOURS just to see him, but they have no notes?! Then, I was told that they cannot write a prescription except for at the time of the exam. I was not told this and had no reason to ever think that this would be the case. I was also told that they could sell me the heartworm medicine, but they could not write a Rx. This makes no sense! Also, they dont even sell the medicine, Interceptor, that I was looking for. All they sell is the higher priced version, Advantage. All in all, the staff was very rude and uncooperative and many things were left out! They are unorganized and I highly recommend paying $10 more to go to a "real" vets office.

I had been taking my dog to PetMed in Antioch, and i didnt know any better. It was close by and so i figured it was good. They were nice enough but each time i took my dog there i would come back with a hole in my pocket. I needed to get my dogs teeth cleaned and they said it would cost 220$. JUST FOR THE CLEANING. I knew i couldnt ever go there to get THAT done! Finally i called a friend up and she suggested Value Vet on Lebanon Pike. So i called them and the lady was very friendly and said the cleaning would cost 92$. I was astonished at the difference in price! I didnt care about the name " Value Vet" since we go to "Value Vision" and our glasses are fine! :D The young lady was the only one there and she was so efficient. She was friendly and even though i was a bit nervous with "separation anxiety" she gave me details and assured me Spike would be well taken care of. We came back for him earlier than usual because apparently the job was done sooner than expected and when we saw him , his teeth were so clean and white. He had never had his teeth so clean!! Definitely worth the drive and i will be going back there!! In this day and age youd think businesses would stop charging folks a kings price and be more down to earth! Well this place DOES! ****UPDATE**** They called 2 days later to check on how my dog was doing. This has never happened with PetMed!

Horrible experience. We came back from vacation and took our very sick cat to value vet to see if there was any hope for him, or anything we could do for him. It was pretty obvious that the cat was too far gone to really do anything. He was skin and bones with a bloated belly but what thought we would try anyway. They talked us into giving him anti biotics and a hydration shot til we could get the money for the blood work. When we brought him back to get the blood work after borrowing money they went to take his blood and when returned to my fiance, he noticed the skin on his neck was ripped away. The vet tried to say it was from them taking blood and my fiance was like, there is no way. He had heard them struggling a little bit with him and called over a guy vet or whoever and handled him too roughly and tore his skin off his neck. In the end we had to put him down because he would have had a hard enough time trying to heal his neck along with whatever else he might have had. We didnt even get a chance to try. We will never come back to this vet. What kind of places handles a sickly animal like that.
