Ive had challenges with dentists in the past. One had injected Novocain in a nerve, one chipped a tooth while repairing another tooth, and one just gave up before doing the filling. Ive also got arthritis that can affect my jaws & TMJ has been brought up by the doctor also - so I can have jaw issues that can be not dental friendly. However, I know that Ive flossed out two fillings & needed them replaced but Id been putting it off. Then, I chipped a hole in the back of a top front tooth & could put off dental treatment no longer. I have dental insurance through work & was provided options of dentists in the area. Well, Dr. Raymond W. Lim happens to be a block & a half away from where I live. Dr. Lims office is easy to find near that Three Flames/ Carriage something sign on Meridian just north of the Hamilton intersection. Im able to easily walk there & there is a great crosswalk right out front of his office. All you have to do is push the button, itll flash an amber light & you can start walking - traffic is supposed to stop. When checking for the area dentists, Id spoken with Dr. Lims receptionist & made the first appointment. She is pleasant, helpful, friendly, easy to understand - totally the reason that I chose Dr. Lims office over the other nearby ones. His assistant is just as nice & friendly & helpful. As for Dr. Lim, well, hes easy to understand - by that I mean, he actually explains things & demonstrates some things. He took x-rays - they were digital, really cool. Some of the bite wings for the x-rays werent working comfortably, but he has a trick that really works in making the bite wings more comfortable. He explained my x-rays to me & since they were digital, he was able to make each slide bigger for better visibility. Also, though the first visit wasnt supposed to include repair of those top front teeth, he fixed them right then. He used the white composite filling for those two teeth - the hole was due to cavities. I am beyond happy that I went. I returned for a follow-up visit to create a plan for my other teeth. Due to the arthritis meds, asthma meds, & previous dentists over the years, I seem to need most, if not all, of my previous fillings replaced. Totally needed, he actually went through my x-rays with me tooth by tooth explaining as to the conditions is for each tooth. I mean, really, its not good for a person to be able to remove their own fillings while flossing & other fillings of mine were cracked or separating from the tooth. So, Dr. Lim had a plan printed out detailing the format for which sections of my mouth to work on & the cost breakdown for my dental insurance & me including white composite fillings for all of the teeth I need fixed. Weve started on that plan. First up was my upper right followed by the upper left section. Ive had one or two issues which seem to be bite related. White composite fillings are hard right away - good to go as you leave the office. Unlike other fillings, white composite then dont mold to the bite. Dr. Lim has to shape them & though they seem to be right, sometimes the bite is just a teensy bit off. So, I go back & he adjusts it & so far just one of the many hes done is being a bit of a challenge. If he cant get it to be right, he may have to redo that filling. Im not worried; hes been great so far. Plus, he wont start on the bottom sections until the top is squared away, definitely conscientious & considerate. Once, my spine & hip achiness, due to my arthritis, posed a challenge while in the chair. However, now, at Dr. Lims suggestion, I have a rolled blanket under the small of my back & havent had that spine & hip achiness as a problem. So, if you fear the dentist or think that you have challenges that might be a problem for getting dental work done (like arthritis), or if you want a dentists office with an easy to understand, friendly, helpful staff, modern equipment, & an awesome dentist who actually explains things - then Dr. Raymond W. Lim is the dentist for you.

Been going to Dr Ray for 7 years now, and was finally happy to find a really great dentist after going through a few. He was recommended by a friend and I have never left. Now even my Wife goes here I can say from the front office and personal experience/touch they give is awesome. Dr. Ray gives you his personal cell number in case of emergencies. Great, Fast, and reliable work. Nearly painless.. (it is dental work so you have to expect some) but I never went under gas. And the follow up afterwards to make sure all is well. Not to mention the technology they use to remind you of appointments and confirming them, truly enjoy those! Once I has in horrible painful experience, and called his cell phone and office, having to leave a voicemail, I at the time didnt know Dr Ray was on vacation, but he within hours he called me back and got me booked into another office where they were able to help me. Truly couldnt put a price on that experience/day or personal touch.

Hands down, the best experience Ive ever had at a dentists office. The entire staff was kind and professional and Dr. Lim spent time with me before and after my cleaning to check my teeth and discuss qualified recommendations for cleaning and care more face time than I remember ever having with a dentist before!. The team was personable, asking regularly whether I was comfortable or in any pain during the cleaning, and their attention to detail was impeccable Dr.Lim took photos of my teeth to help document any changes for my next appointment, pointing out any problem areas I should be aware of. From reception through the end of the appointment, I felt I was in good hands with a staff that actually cared about my questions and concerns. Have finally found a dentist I love in New York!

Great service and very trustworthy. I would highly recommend Dr. Lim not only for adult dental care but also children. My 4 year old son went to Dr. Lim for his very first dental visit and his chair side manner and taking time to explain everything to him put him at ease. He is awesome.

Ray has been my dentist since the early 90s and I can only refer him to others with the highest superlatives. He is a truly caring person and I expect my teeth to last forever thanks to not only his care of my teeth, but also his skillful handling of my dental habits especially flossing.
