This was my first visit to this Western Dental. It was a huge mistake. Inspite of taking appointment, i had to wait for almost 2.5 hrs in the office, though i was on time. IF you google about their reviews, everyone complains the same at any of their branches. I made a mistake of not searching for their review before visiting the office. Next, also this was my first even dental visit in a US dentist office. I didnt know about the terminologies or how they can rip you off. I had gone for oral examination and then cleaning. They said ok, we will do it. After x-rays, they said dont do cleaning, do deep cleaning. Also i had gone in december 3rd week. They said generally deep cleaning requires that we do each quarter of your mouth separately, but for you we will do it before end of december. I smelled something fishy here, hence did not agree for that. Only when i came back home and after few weeks, came to know that they had done full-mouth x-ray, bite-wing xrays, etc and my insurance covered full-mouty x-ray and panoramic x-ray once in 5 years only? So now for 5 years, i wont be covered for that service. Also i started getting calls from their office that you havent paid for the servies, though i did pay whatever deductible and the invoice was. I then had to call their corportate office to tell them that all my charges were covered by my insurance, and then only they stopped calling. So all in all, a total rip-off and especially if you are ignorant, they will draw every ounce from you. Stay away.

First off the first few times I came in I waited for hours with never being seen. Than I got a referral from another Dentist and finally my 3rd time I only waited about 10 min before being seen by the os Dr. Emummy Dr. Emummy, the os for many western dental locations is awesome! He goes to a different location every day but i saw him at the downtown location. He is nice, funny, friendly, explains everything in detail, gental with giving the numming shot, and most importantly he is good at his job. He took 4 teeth out, after getting num it took about 10 sec each tooth with no pain or problems. He deserves 5 plus stars, but he only does os (root canals and extractions) I wish he did general as well. As for the office staff, half are good, the other half not, a few ladys were rude and unprofessional, not caring and seemed like they hate their jobs. Thus why I only gave 4 stars. I have an appointment in 2 weeks to get some fillings done and we will see how good general is. As for the os dr, he is awesome and if you need root canal or extractions, I recommend you go see Dr. Emummy!

I only come here because I am an SJSU student and I have no car to go somewhere further. I dislike the customer service here very much. Ortho here is okay, very friendly helpful people but general not so much. They refused to work with me because I was not 18 and I had a really bad cavity that needed to be treated ASAP (words they said). I had to explain to them that my parents are in a different state and that they couldnt sign any papers but I was less than a month away from turning 18. Even after explaining my situation and have my parents write a letter agreeing to letting me sign all papers, they refused! The worst thing about this place is the receptionists, one of the girls is so snotty and unprofessional. They always have me waiting longer than I need to because the girls are always gossiping about their co workers. Get a better staff!

If you are looking for braces.. DO NOT come here! I regret signing that dam paper..well any type of treatment really. (I also had wisdom teeth pulled, fillings, etc) Ive been coming to this location in particular for well over a year now..the average wait time for me, at the minimum is one & a half hours. today was 2 hours but two weeks ago I had an appointment but no one ever seen me! (I left with an appt for today) The last 3 appointments were to put brackets on my front teeth..BUT they just keep prolonging it and now its 3 months of nothing! And they wanna wait another 4 weeks, f%#& them! Wasted money and time.. I finally am transferring to a new office.. Didnt wanna pay to see a new dentist (transfer fee) but decided time was more important than the money.. hopefully things will be better at another location

Well, this is my first review in my life. Im currently still at this place. My appointment was at 12pm, its now 2.45pm, so 2 hours 45 minutes have passed. Also, they took 2 people before me, the first one came here about 30 minutes, and the second one about 2 hours after me. And one of them filled a yellow form, so I guess this is his first time here. Oh by the way 2.5 hours ago I asked them for soap to wash my hands in their bathroom, they said okay but still no soap in the bathroom. Well they just called me in for my dental work but I refused to get in, I told them that my appointment was 2.5 hours ago. They said okay, Next please!

My visit at the Western Dental office in Downtown San Jose, CA was a pleasant one. Even though I received bad news in my opinion in terms of my insurance not covering Deep Cleaning and Antibiotics, the Staff remained calm as I went on a rant. I appreciate the Staff for being honest with me and telling me to look on the bright side. My insurance can approve it since my gums in areas are at a 5 or 6 and I need Antibiotics, I could be approved being that those numbers are considered poor and the patient actually needs the work done on their teeth. I hope it works out for the best. Western Dental was awesome!

I wish there was a zero star to choose! I went there for the first and last time, I had an appointment at 11AM, I waited 4 hours!! yes till 3PM, then after the doctor finally was free to see me, I told him i want to do the basic cleaning, so after checking my teeth he said I have some "gum disease" and he have to treat my gum and I need deep cleaning which will coast me 1200$ !! I said no thank you I want the free cleaning that my insurance pays for, they said we cant do that we already diagnosed you with gum problem!! so after wasting 4 hours I left and cleaned nothing!!

Scheduled an 11am appointment, they told me I wasnt even in the system and that they had no record od my appointment. Waited 2.5hrs for a terrible cleaning where they blasted water all over me constantly. They told me I needed to pay extra for a fluoride treatment. I figured this was in the toothpaste they use so they told me i was finished and that I could leave. As I was paying a lady ran out and said oops we forgot please come back, right as I was paying for it!! I almost paid for something I didnt even get! What a terrible experience

Great place in my opinion. Yea, sure, the place is old looking and a little run-down, but most places in the downtown area are. The staff are great to work with. Theyre nice, have a sense of humor, and are really easy to talk to. I have had no problems with them so far. And Ive never waited in the waiting room for more than 15mins. Im always taken great care of and right away :) 4stars because the place is just a little old and should be updated a bit.
