New to the area, we had just used Tyndall AFBs Vet Clinic for a routine checkup, but two weeks later had to find emergency care for our very active German Shorthaired Pointer when she opened a gash while playing with other dogs that needed stitches. We chose Callaway based on the recommendation of someone we met in the waiting room at Tyndall (theres no emergency service there). I thought the service was a bit slow (by my yankee standards), but I appreciated the quality of care. Plan a little extra time. Dr. Korda and all the staff were excellent and took great care of our furkid. Its not the cheapest clinic weve ever been to (not by half), but isnt expensive for the local market, either. I did not feel pressured to elect extra services, but was informed and offered options to choose the level of care we could afford and were comfortable with. I valued Dr. Kordas 30+ years of experience and easy manner when explaining the treatment required and other concerns. She truly has our dogs long-term health in mind. The staff was thorough, catching the fact that she was overdue for a Bordatella vaccination when I thought itd been done two weeks earlier at Tyndall. I wasnt sure why they gave the shot AND the nasal mist, so I asked Dr. Korda about it: The nasal mist is effective within hours, but the annual antigen injection takes weeks to take effect; not ideal when there are sick dogs around. Regarding the negative comment about them recommended extra-frequent tests - the local area is ripe with diseases and parasites that northern winters kill off half the year - which requires extra prevention here.

We called quite a few vets in the Panama City area (we live on the Fountain/Marianna line), we decided to trust Callaway Animal Hospital with Peanut Butters care, and heres why: From the initial phone call, to the special arrangements for his entry into the Callaway Animal Hospital (in a large kennel) and to his two treatments (one the afternoon we brought him in and the other the next morning)--it was all "First Class." The place was immaculate, and EVERYONE there had a smile and knowledgeable and encouraging words. We had an unfortunate occurrence happen to our beloved Peanut Butter. To us, he is not a dog--but a member of our family. After trying to heal him at home for two weeks--Peanut Butter had a setback from playing and was in serious pain--which is what led us to our vet search. The Doctor: Doctor Korda systematically worked her way from his head to his tail and found the problem in less than five minutes. She confirmed her diagnosis with x-rays the next morning. It would be next to impossible to find a better vet anywhere.

This place is a rip off. I used to work in a vet clinic and the things they charge you for are insane. Two Bordetella shots? WHY? Just because it is given in different ways doesnt mean you need it both ways, the same day! That doesnt seem healthy, now does it? Just like the Flu shot...Im not going to go get the shot in my arm and intranasal at the same time!! Overkill...just a way to make some extra money AND SCAM the people who know no better. Fecals every 6 months? Everywhere else it is a year!! We definitely didnt do this when I worked at a vet clinic in VA, so I called around thinking it may be different here in FL...NO, just this rip off place! My dogs smelled horrible after I picked them up for the weekend. They also charged me for an exam, which ok, that fine, at least tell me how it went!! I will definitely be taking my dogs elsewhere and telling everyone else to do the same!

Absolutely the best and cleanest office ever. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful even with difficult animals. Dr Korda is very thorough and does not rush her time with patients She is very direct yet caring & friendly, The office staff is tops as are the vet techs; they show great patience and care to each animal/client. Office visit prices are comparable with others in Panama City. When going to a Dr, or vet, I look for good well qualified physician/vet with willingness to hear my concerns, their skills and knowledge and also caring attitude. I also consider staff; staff is very important to me.

Made an appointment to neuter my cat. Planned on getting rabies shot when I was there and was told over the phone the price was $75. When I got there they tried charging an extra $102 for a rabies shot and a fecal test. When I asked for a break down of the charges she said the rabies shot was $72. A rabies shot anywhere else is $20 or under ($20 is on the high side, too.) I cancelled the appointment and then they proceeded to charge me a $40 inconvenience fee after they said that they would not.

I came in for a visit today and was changed for a follow up visit 30 and office visit of 39.50. There is no difference in the visit nothing was done different. It should have been 1 charge. And I bought a flee pill. They said itd be 30% off. 20.00+tax (comfortis) when I told them I could go right down the road and get 1 for $12 they said theyd match the price. Where was the discount at?? Great staff very overpriced!!!

I have been going to Callaway Animal Hospital for many years now and I am very happy with the service my pets and I receive. The vets there have been practicing for a long time and they are very good at what they do. The office has to be the cleanest and most neutral smelling out of any of the other vets I have been to in the past which is a plus. The prices are fair and I know my pets are in good hands.

Horrible!!! Waited 2 and a half hours and vet was clueless on what was needed. Tried to tell us our pets had infections that they did not have. Treated our one year old with the same vaccines as two year old. Told us she didnt know if treatment for mites needed prescription . Other staff was great!

It was our first time, when we walked in the nice lady greeted us. We need to get some bordetella for our black lab pup, the staff was extremely gentle and fast working. It didnt even cost us $25 and saved us lots of time. We were there for 15 minutes.
