Dr. Rickords called me to talk with my directly. He was very nice and has had a family emergency so he was out of the office and he thanked me for bringing this issue to his attention so he can fix it. Like I said the people that work there are great.-----------I have been taking my two dogs here for a year. The vet is great but the office staff and miscommunication is a HUGE issue! I always had to wait at least 30 min after my appointment time to get a room. Ok, I dont mind waiting if it is a good vet. But they messes up my two dogs records recording that one dog got rabies even though it was the other one that received the shot. I kept going to them because they are very affordable and I wont lie, they do seem to care about animals. My problem is I got a new kitten and she got a cold. I took her in at 10:30 am and they said just drop her off and they would keep her in the officers managers office. So I did and I hadnt heard anything by 4 so I called up there because I was worried she would be stuck in a crate all day. They said that they were still working on her. I finally called at 4:45 and the office lady said that they should be done by the time I got up there. I said ok whats wrong with her? She said the vet wants to talk to me but she didnt know what was wrong. I started thinking the worst because colds to kitten can be fatal. I went up there and the lady said I dont know if the vet wants to talk to you in a room or not but can I check you out? I said I dont even know what is going on. So she went back to get the vet tech, Skyler (he was very nice by the way). During this time they have a man sitting in the waiting room to fill out paperwork to put his animal down and telling him the different options. To me this should be done in the back to give him privacy. Then another girl in the front came up and asked if she could check me out and I started crying because I was so scared I would have to put this kitten down. Then Skyler comes out with my kitten and meds. He sees me crying and was super nice and saying that my kitten was fine. Turns out no one called me to tell me what was going on when they were supposed to. They took a fecal sample and gave her an antibiotic shot without asking if they could perform the procedures or telling me the cost. After that I will no longer go back there even though they are cheaper. This wasnt just a one time event and if they are going to perform procedures on my animal without telling me the price and then expect me to pay for it, who knows what else they might "forget" or "mess up on" that could cause my animal their life. I also have an older dog and I think it is disrespectful to have someone talking to a owner about what type of services (like a paw print) that they offer after they put down your animal while they are filling out the paperwork to do that procedure in the waiting room in front of several other clients.

We have never felt more love for our pets than we have at Rickords. Dr. Rickords and his staff are the warmest, gentlest, kindest and most nurturing staff we have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. We had a dog for 9 years, and had the pleasure of taking him to Rickords since it opened in 2008. Tucker was a beautiful brindle colored boxer-bloodhound, and from the moment anyone met him, they fell in love with him. It was no different at Rickords. They adored Tucker, loved to see him, and they were always sad to see him leave. Matt was particularly enamored with Tucker, and he would always greet him with a smile and a big hug. Recently, Tucker fell very ill, and the staff at Rickords took him in and nurtured him and loved on him, trying everything possible to make him healthy. Sadly, Tucker had a very serious liver problem, and he could not be saved. I have been around vets before that would try to talk you into all these various tests to take your money, knowing that the outcome would be the same as when the tests begun. That was not the case at Dr. Rickords office. Dr. Tran, a wonderful doctor with amazing bedside manner, told us if it were her dog, that she would stop the tests and not let Tucker suffer anymore. She could have talked us into any test in the world, anything at all to save our Tucker. But she didnt. Dr. Bellard made personal phone calls to us, and allowed Tucker to come home with us for one last night. Dr. Rickords made personal phone calls to us as well, even after business hours. As we made the decision to let Tucker go, the entire staff, Brittany, Stephanie, Taunee, Nicole, Matt, Skyler, Sharon, Jennifer(sorry if we missed anyone!!) and all the others gathered to say goodbye to Tucker. They all told us that is was a very sad day at Rickords Animal Hospital. We have never had the personal service and felt more loved than at Rickords. His prices are very fair, and he even worked with us as Tucker continued to get worse. As long as we live within 100 miles of Rickords, we will ALWAYS take our pets to them. We love all of you! My dog Barkley was my very dear to me, I got him as a 8 week old puppy and we bonded from day one. His was getting older, a bit over 14 years and I knew he had a heart murmur. He started having problems breathing early on a Sunday morning, he would just stand and wheeze constantly. After a couple of hours of this I knew something seriously was wrong with him. He wouldnt move. I found Rickords on-line, and they were the only ones open on Sunday. I called and told them what was wrong, and even though they were booked solid they told me to go ahead and bring him. By the time I got there Barkley couldnt stand anymore, he just laid in my arms and struggled to breath. They shoehorned him in between other appointments and examined him. His heart was failing and he had lungs full of fluid. I cried, Barley had been my constant companion for many years. I had to put him to sleep that day, but Ill never forget how compassionate and thoughtful the staff was to me that day. Days afterwards they send me a condolence card they all signed, even though I never saw them before. They know how important a pet can be to someone. Its a 60+ mile round trip to their office but since that day I will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Rickords and his staff are wonderful. Dr. Rickords has been seeing my little family members since 09. He has always provided the upmost care for our little babies. We have a Yorkie and a Maltese that he always makes sure that stay healthy, and they are always happy to see him. Everyone has always been so helpful with all of our needs. We recently lost our beloved cat or 15 years, his entire staff was there to help make sure that he was seen, even with the doctors full schedule. Our cat ( Mr. Jinx ) in his final days was so well taken care of. Everyone went above and beyond to explain every procedure that was going on. They were really wonderful, and I am very grateful that Dr. Rickords stayed by our side as we said goodbye. I could go on and on about how blessed that we are to have such a great vet and staff to rely on, we are very lucky. I have recommended all of my friends and family to visit this office with any of there pet needs. Thank you again !!
