While the grooming service is great, and the staff is all very nice, if your dog ever has a problem they are not qualified to take care of your pet. One of our dogs started throwing up and wouldnt stop. I took her in and they sent her home that night, but she was still throwing up. Took her back the next day and they called at 5 to say I should come pick her up and take her to an emergency vet, and I wasnt able to get there till 6:30. One of the nice staff took her to the emergency center, thank goodness. But over the course of the next week shuttling her back and forth between them for daycare and the emergency center for nightcare I spent about $10,000. When the nightcare doctor went into labor, her replacement told me (long story short based on the tons of tests that had been done along with exploratory surgery) that she wasnt going to make it and needed to be put to sleep. None of the other doctors even said it was a possability. Thank god that doctor was honest. After that, my second dog had an infection, abcess on the side of her face. I took her in at 4:30 at night after coming home from the airport and they very kindly cleaned out the abcess, gave me medication and stayed 30 minutes after closing. The 2nd afternoon after that it wasnt looking right to me. They had shaved the area around the wound and put in a drain and the spot where the infection had been looked like beef jerky, dried out meat. I took her in and the doctor said, and I quote, "it looks great". I told her I didnt know much, but it just didnt look right to me. No, she said, it looks great. So the next day, still not feeling this was right I took her an hour away to our old vet and she told me she was so glad I had brought her in because this was bad. The skin was dead. She pulled the "jerky" looking part of my dogs skin off, yes pulled it off, about a quarter sized piece of skin about a 1/4 of an inch thick, and my dog didnt even flinch. Because she explained it was dead. It was just horrible. She could pick up the 1/4" thick layers from the top of the drain tube down to the bottom and the dog didnt even move. She took out the drain tube, had me treat it as an open wound and in 8 days she was totally healed, with hardly a scar. Unbelievable. I dread what would have happened if I hadnt taken her somewhere else. My heart broke over losing my first dog, and if I had lost both of them due to this vets incompetence, no matter how nice they were or well meaning, I dont know how I would have handled it. Bottom line, they were nice, and well intended, but stay away.

Im a dog lover, and found a stray dog in the area. After bringing her into Creekside, and learning that she had heartworm, I was devastated. We met with Dr. Wallace, who prescribed heartworm treatment (which totaled over $1500). Only to find out the day she was supossed to receive her heartworm injection that "the manufacturer was no longer producing them." There was no notification letting us know any earlier that they could not procure the vaccine. (We had already paid over $1000 at this point.) I have been working to get Oreo adopted for over four months. I found an awesome lady in California who wanted to adopt her and fly her out to San Diego. She needed a health certificate to fly, which Dr. Wallace said would not be a problem. I specifically asked if she could fly with heartworm, and Dr. Wallace said she could. Although Oreo had heartworm, she was in very good health otherwise. I gave Dr. Wallace the date the dog was to fly, and she said she would "post date" the health certificate (they are only good for 10 days) and leave it at the front desk for us. When I called the week of her flight, I was informed that the health certificate had "expired" and that I needed to come in for another exam. Which was a little alarming given that I had just talked to Dr. Wallace two weeks before, who stated she would post date a certificate, and that Oreo would not need an exam because she had been in two weeks earlier. After talking to the front desk for half an hour, I was told a new health certificate would be waiting for me. The front desk was extremely rude at this point. When I went to pick the health certificate up, I was charged over $40 for the certificate, which seems absolutely absurd. But the most disturbing portion of this chain of events, is that Dr. Wallace stated that she didnt know if the dog would be able to fly because she had heartworm. I immediately asked to meet with Dr. Wallace. She apologized and said it was her "fault" but that she was unsure if she could fly with heartworm. Apparently, Creekside cares more about collecting money than taking care of animals. Dr. Wallace knew I had been working to get Oreo adopted, but clearly didnt care. She cared about collecting money for her heartworm treatment, needless exams, and health certificates. After this incident, I immediately asked for my dog Coopers records. I hope others read this review, and move to a different vet who actually cares about your animal- not their bottom line at the end of the month. Please please please take your animal somewhere else.

Dr “Chip” Ponsford III and Creekside Pet Care Center are the absolute worst vets we have ever come across. Having had several dogs in the past, we have had our share of aggressive vets but this place takes the cake! Brought a 7 week old puppy into the clinic as we had just gotten him and the change in food was causing digestive issues. Without even a full evaluation or proper testing, Dr Ponsford instantly diagnosed our dog as having Parvo. He proceeded to tell us the puppy had 25% chance of survival unless he was admitted to the hospital at $800 - $900 per day for a minimum of three days. Furthermore; what kind of Vet smiles when telling a person this news ?? Was he smiling because he was now looking at his next few car payments sitting in Exam Room 2 ? He brought in a list of procedures and medicines but never attempted to do a simple Parvo Snap Test. After insisting for about 30 minutes to do the Parvo Test, he finally conceded and guess what… test was negative!! Wow, we spent $70 on the Parvo test rather than the estimated $2100. I am sure this clinic has helped many animals but it also seems to help themselves into the wallets of unsuspecting animal owners through scare tactics like “This puppy will surely die unless under our intense supervision”. We took the puppy to another vet who immediately said he had an upset tummy due to the food change and recommended a low fat RX food for a couple weeks. Its very rare that another Vet/Dr will ever disparage another Vet/Dr but even the second vet said this was way too aggressive and ultimately would have resulted in additional weight loss and malnutrition. The puppy is doing amazing and has surpassed our wildest expectations. The dog never had Parvo and honestly was never at risk of dying. Watch out for Dr “Chip” Ponsford and run the other way if he comes into your exam room!!
