I want you to know the level of profession Banfield associates are working on. I’ve been with Banfield since October of 2016. We were in NC where we had our first incident with Banfield in Morehead City. I won’t go into detail with that location because that happened in December of 2016. Recently my husband and I have moved out of the country. Due to costs, we weren’t able to bring our pet during our move. We are now trying to get him overseas, at our own costs, so that is why we recently took our pet to the Banfield in Hurst, Texas. (860 N E Mall Blvd, Hurst, TX 76053) The Banfield in Irving, Texas was not offering the Titer Blood Testing which is why I had to have my sister bring our pet to the Hurst location. The associate/receptionist was very over powering during our conversation. I would try to speak and she would just interrupt me and speak over me. I was trying to explain to her quarantine days here in Japan because I had already spoke to the Veterinary services here so I had a clear understanding of what needed to be done. This associate kept telling me over and over that I would not be able to get my dog over there for 180 days because the blood testing would take that long to get back. Mind you, she was still being overbearing and overpowering with her words. When I had the chance, I explained to her what the correct circumstances were and that I’ve already spoken to the veterinary services here in Japan so that she would know for future experiences. She then set me up an appointment and the days moved on. I then get a phone call from my sister who is handling the veterinary care stating that Doctor Moore had told her, “I heard through the grapevine” that I was being extremely rude to an associate and that they weren’t going to be able to take care of your pet if this continued. This is the first I’ve heard of it. I don’t understand why I didn’t get a courtesy call explaining the situation so I called the Doctor which she had to call me back due to an emergency. Forty-five minutes later I get a phone call and Doctor Moore had stated that I had called the associate an Idiot. I was deeply hurt by this lie that had been created. I cried over the phone because I was in shock and disbelief. I told Doctor Moore that I cannot believe she can trust an associate that lies about her customers and how could she have gotten this far in her work. How can you trust an associate with a customer, let alone her job if she lies to her boss? That is completely un-professional. Then Doctor Moore stated that she trusts her associate because she has been working with her for so long. I didn’t know working with someone for so long was more important than carefully observing them in their work space and how they treat customers. I would never want this to happen to another customer. I read the reviews on this location a few days after this incident and I should’ve read them earlier. The reviews completely back up that this location is not the best at serving customers. I advise that you don’t take this incident lightly. I will not be returning to Banfield when my Wellness Plan is up in October of this year. Due to paying a fee for cancelling, I unfortunately have to wait. I am greatly disappointed in Banfield.

My 6 mo border collie had missing fur around her eye for a couple weeks before i finally had the money to take her to the vet. I took her to this vet when it was extremely icy outside and was just not in the best of moods. The vet tech was VERY friendly, he was really good with my dog, especially since she is very scared of men. He was calm and gentle with her. The vet came in and was very nice and seemed to know what he was talking about at least in diagnosing. They said she had puppy mange, did a skin scrape test and a skin impression (dont get this, waste of money... just go for the skin scrape). He came back in and told us we needed to have her on ivermectin (heartgard) for 3 months. Thank god I remembered that the breeder mentioned something about heartworm medicines, so I asked him if that was okay to give to a border collie. he said he thought she was a spaniel! she doesnt look anything like a spaniel at all. In case you dont know, heartgard can be fatal in high doses to border collies. While heartgard would have been the medicine of choice for mange, it should never be given to a collie. Moral of the story, ALWAYS REMEMBER keep yourself informed, research what doctors/vets tell you to make sure its appropriate. The vet and vet tech seemed knowledgeable and friendly enough, but the vet obviously didnt read the chart about her being a border collie (and even questioned me if i knew for sure she was a border collie, i had her registration papers there with me and had to pull them out to prove it!). While nothing bad happened from this experience, I think I will just go to another vet next time. I dont want to have to worry about my dog dying from medication!

Do not take your pets here. Even with the coupon for a free visit. The lady at the front desk was nice, but quoted us a price for a service we were looking into at the front desk that we decided to get done. When we got to the back room with the doctor and her assistant, we were told the service was double the price. Wanting to ensure my kitten had the test done, we obliged anyways. They immediately began the services without explaining any of what they were doing before we did it and did not tell us any of the side effects of the dewormer they gave him. They seemed like they cared more about how cute and small and young he was than his health. We are now in the local animal emergency room for my 6 week old kitten with bloody diarrhea from whatever they gave him. I will not be returning, ESPECIALLY because they (by they, I mean EVERY employee I spoke to) would not stop trying to get me to buy that ridiculously overpriced "health plan".

This place is pretty ridiculous. My dog is always TERRIFIED whenever I pick him up, so I started making Saturday appointments so I could go in with him. They seem to have no concern for the animals pain or anxiety. Its like a pediatrician who hates kids. Then I found out they didnt "transfer" my membership when I moved 20 miles away, they just decided to start charging me twice every month. When I called for a refund, they apparently just canceled it altogether, even tho I had an upcoming appt. So when my boyfriend showed up with my dog, they claimed theyd never heard of me, had no records of my dog, even tho Id been taking him there for 9 months now. I called and (after a 20 minute wait) desperately tried to explain to the idiot on the phone what was going on and canceled (after being transferred a number of times and numerous more waits). Go to a normal vet who cares about animals!

We have been taking our dogs to Banfield for over 20 years and have always had good care---our labradoodle started having gran mal seizures just walking in the door---so Dr Moore and I agreed that Lucy would no longer come in but could get her anti anxiety drugs thru Banfield. I have to take Lucy to an outdoor clinic for her shots. Today I called to get Trifexis flea control and her anti anxiety meds filled---THEY SAID SINCE THEY HADNT SEEN HER THEY COULDNT DO IT!!!!! If I bring her in she will have a huge seizure as she crosses the threshold----and Im talking a 75 lb dog pooping peeing and foaming all over the store seizure. So now she will be without care---need to find a mobile vet that really is concerned for my dog. I asked for a reference----they dont know of any!
