I began treatment at Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine on a recommendation from my husband and on behalf of my Neurologist who wrote the order. I suffer from symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis; back pain, shoulder pain, and muscle spasticity are the three I have received treatment for, so far. I was very reluctant to return to any physical therapist because of some bad experiences in the past, but this place made me realize there are better people and places for treatment. I was first treated at Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine for the back pain and shoulder pain; E-stym, heat or cool, massage and exercises. My back and shoulder pain is less severe, as is the spasticity because of the excellent treatment I received. I hadnt heard of dry needling before going to Layton Physical Therapy, but I was interested once I learned what it is. It is similar to acupuncture, but targets muscles versus nerves. Having undergone acupuncture twice in the past, I knew I would be able to tolerate it. To date, I have undergone four dry needling treatments for the muscle spams, (spasticity.) I must say that the dry needling is actually helping! Im ecstatic! At first, I was concerned that the MS was the root cause of the spasticity, and it may be, but the dry needling has definitely helped me. I had been taking 4 to 6 800mg tablets of Neurontin (Gabapentin) each day. After my third dry needling treatment, I am down to 1 to 2 tablets per day. Having just recently undergone the fourth treatment, I am hopeful that the spasticity will continue to lessen. I highly recommend dry needling for anyone suffering from spasticity, or any of the several ailments it can help alleviate. The professionalism and attentiveness of the entire staff is commendable. Alan does a great job making sure his patients are taken care of. Stacey is a wonderful massage therapist. She listens to feedback; if you want a great massage, she is the right person! Holly is a very approachable and pleasant Office Manager, making it easy to schedule/reschedule appointments. Whatever your physical therapy needs, Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine is the best!

Recently, my doctor told me about Alan Kerbs at Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine – that he provides “dry needling and Astym” as an additional therapy solution. I have experienced drastically better results in the last three weeks since I switched to Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine than I experienced from my prior PT provided (who treated me for the last year and a half). Layton Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine - uses progressive, modern techniques and services. Immediately after each dry needling treatment, I feel improvement in flexibility and movement. The Astym treatment has softened my stiff muscles and irons out the knots. Of course, I still do the strengthening and posture exercises – as any major injury needs a diverse approach. I must also put a good word in for the staff – they all knew my name by the second day and really make you feel comfortable – there’s just a good vibe when you walk in the door. They are truly healers and I thank them for pursuing careers that help improve lives.

Last year after continuous pain and loss of motion I had to give into right shoulder surgery. I had rotator cuff surgery along with a couple other tears with anchors, bicep tendon cut and screwed up and inflammation cleaned up. I started pt a week after surgery. They went through the process of recovery with pt, electro stimulation therapy, massage, exercise and stretching. They started out slow. It was a longer recovery then I excepted but over time and continued help from a wonderful, friendly, helpful staff all around, I was on the way to recovery with my range of motion back without pain. I recently got released and sent home with a home exercise plan to continue to increase my strength. I totally recommend Layton Physical Therapy. I am thankful for their care and concern to get me back to a better quality of life.

I wish I had searched out a treatment sooner! I have suffered with Achilles pain for several years. I prefer to maintain an active lifestyle but this pain was deterring me from doing things I love to do. I was becoming discouraged thinking I would just have to live with this pain forever. I read about a treatment called ASTYM, and agreed with the philosophy and wanted to give it a try. I found that Alan from Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine, specializes in ASTYM. Upon meeting with him, he also introduced a treatment method called dry needling. This combination of treatments, I believe, has helped get me on the road to healing in just a few weeks. I’ve been able to run and be nearly pain free. Thanks to Alan and his staff for the renewed desire to be active again!

I have never really liked taking meds to deal with my pain. I would rather fix the cause. After 6 years of the traditional approach using pain meds, steroids, surgery, and constant physical therapy, for my pain, tingling, numbness, stiffness, and tention in my neck, shoulders, arms and hands, I was referred to Alan Kerbs, Physical Therapist. He used a technique I personnaly never heard of before called "Dry Needling". After two sessions I am amazed! The best way I can describe how I feel is "I feel young again", "I feel like my neck and right arm is floating". I just recrived my third session of "Dry Needling" focusing on my neck and left shoulder. I am excited to see how I feel tomorrow, knowing how well it us working already! Thank you Alan Kerbs!!

I fell on my back the 3rd of March, I have had a constant back pain all month. I finally went to the doctor and he gave me a referral for physical therapy, also told me it could take up to eight weeks or more to heal. The pain was constant, hurting annoying me everyday! I went to my first appointment at the Layton Physical Therapy and met with Alan. After counseling he decided to do dry needling on me. Of course I was a little nervous, well really a lot nervous, but after he did that I was AMAZED! It was really painless, didnt expect that, or how quick the whole procedure was, five minutes. I still cant believe something like that could take ALL the pain away instantly! Highly recommend Alan and this office!!!!

I had bursitis in my left hip. By going to Layton Physical Therapy I am now able to walk without any pain. Most of my care was receiving dry needling twice a week. This has helped the most in my recovery. I also was instructed on some stretching excersies and strenghtening excersises as well. As a whole, my therapy was 5 weeks and I am close to 100%. Thanks to dry needling my therapy went super fast. Thanka ao much Layton Physical Therapy for all you have done. You have given me my ability to walk without pain!! The staff is so kind and professional. They knew me by name and answered any questions I had. I would reccommend Layton Physical Therapy to anyone and everyone looking for therapy.
