I want to take a moment to personally thank all the staff and doctors at the Banfield Pet Hospital inside PetSmart in Apexs Beaver Creek Commons. Banfield has been our dogs vet for many years. We felt like it was high quality, thorough, good value, and convenient (we mostly did the drop-off appts for his twice annual exams). Every other year, we would upgrade plans and have his teeth cleaned. Mid- May our lives were turned upside down when our precious, almost 9 year old GSP, started limping. Dr Davis took an x-ray and it was bone cancer. She referred us to NCSU Vet Oncology Clinic. Confirmed as an aggressive type, most likely already spread, and only given a 10 month prognosis on even the most ideal treatment options, we spent the last 1.5 months trying to give him the best possible quality of life. The doctors and staff at Banfield were wonderful throughout this whole process. They truly seemed to care about not only our pet, but for our family as well. They discussed medications, disease progression, answered all of our questions....sometimes multiple times in a week! Dr Davis even called us one evening as a follow-up from an earlier phone call with staff. After our dogs passing, I returned to Banfield to thank them for all they did. Diane, one of the front desk staff, greeted me warmly and knew exactly who I was. To all of the staff, we personally thank you for helping us take care of our dog through health and through sickness. To anyone looking for a vet in the Apex area, I highly recommended the Banfield Pet Hospital inside of PetSmart. 5+ stars. Some things you just cant put a price on.

This is not your neighborhood pet hospital this is a factory. If you have the patience of an angel and the determination of an Army General you will do well at this pet hospital. Our issue might be the fact that we have their "pet insurance" But I believe it is more about how the staff is trained to serve their customers. I normally would not write a bad review but when little lives are at stake I think it should be done. For example, we were given a prescription for our pet, unfortunately when we got it home I realized they gave us two different dosage instructions. I called them and was given attitude, "you should know the bottle instructions are the correct one" Okay some one had a bad day - but the fact is no matter how many times we ask for a follow up on a bump or any other condition it is like pulling teeth to get good answers. At the time I am writing this the marketing person and a supervisor are trying to contact us - a perfect example of how the system works at Banfield, slow, slower to stop.

They got me in very quickly for an appointment and then call two days ahead of time to reschedule due to an emergency surgery to be on that day. OK, things happen. Now that the appointment day has arrived: I accept responsibility for the fact that I was over 15 minutes late for the drop off time that I was given. However, after I waited in line to check in, I was informed that since I had been over 15 minutes late for the time given, my appointment was canceled and I would have to reschedule. This is for a WALK IN appointment!! You have my pet all day long. Not like youve missed time to care for my dog. Its hard to get pets together to get them in the car to get them to the hospital. My time is more valuable than this. At the very least I shouldve been informed that the policy when the appointment was made. very frustrating. Will not be back

Today was a very sad day for our family b/c we had to put our 14 year old pug Maggie Girl down. I chose Banfield Animal Hospital in Apex b/c of the positive experiences we have had there. Well, today, they went OVER AND ABOVE with customer service. The staff and doctor went out of their way to be kind and gentle and supportive in our decision. The process went so smoothly and they gave us a beautiful box and sweet cards to take home with our pugs pawprints on them...we will treasure them forever!!! THANK YOU to everyone involved today....you guys are THE BEST!!!!!! I am the owner of Furry Friends of Fuquay petsitting, so I know alot of vets, but my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION is with Banfield Pet Hospital in Apex!!!!!

Slow and most workers seem mentally checked out... sadly the only word I can use to describe this experience is incompetence... my wife had the same experience last time... we will be looking for other options once our contracts are up... sadly...

The vets are great, Dr. Boynton is do caring and understanding. Ive had several dogs only see her their whole life with me and shes always listened to me.
