Dr. Hanks had been caring for my lab pup since I adopted him 5 years ago. He had a chronic skin conditin that required medication and steroid shots twice yearly. She saw him in the summer and we returned again a few weeks ago for a follow-up when his condition worsened. Within a week, he started urinating in his bed and drinking water excessively. I called and the receptionist told me his symptoms were caused by the steroid shot and to wait a week to see if he got better. Within a week, he was having more serious symptoms: refusing to eat, weight loss, lethargic, vomiting..I figured out on my own that he was diabetic. I brought him in last week and they confirmed my diagnosis and started him on insulin. The receptionist called to get my permisision to treat him and told me that his "counts were high" but that his condition was treatable and they would keep him through the weekend. I called again at 3:30 the same afternoon and was told he was "doing : fine and resting comfortably". On Friday morning at 8:00am the receptionist called to tell me my dog had passed away sometime between 3:00am and 8:00am when they opened. Keep in mind, I have never spoken to Dr. Hanks during this whole ordeal. She did not even have the courtesy to tell me my dog had passed away. The receptionist said that Dr. Hanks had found a tumor on an xray the previous day; that was never shared with me and I believed I would be taking my dog home on Monday. When I finally insisted that Dr. Hanks call me, she was very defensive intially and then admitted that she was too busy to call me. This doctor is too busy to be treating animals who are really sick. She didnt take enough time to run tests that would have shown he was a diabetic even though I figured that out reseraching online. She is also too busy to relay the correct information to people who are entrusting her with their precious pets. I wish I had taken the negative reviews seriously and never taken my dogs to her. Yes, she is nice to the animals but I would never trust her to care for a sick animal. Her receptionst does not have a degree, but she seems to be advising people. in all the wrong ways..How did my dog go from being "fine and recovering" to being dead less than 24 hours later? My family is heart broken over the loss of our dog. We will be taking him home in a box today..

Dr. Yvone Wilson Have my full Support. MY dog is difficult and her staff did a excellent job. They are not afraid of any dog or Cat, they are educated and specialized on Dogs and Cats. My Che needed two melanomas to be removed and she removed three. While everyone else did asked me 4k she only asked me for 859.00 and that included operation, health exam, antibiotics, send the melanomas to a lab and find out what kind are them, one was on his mouth, one on his left rib cage and the other at his spinal cord area. So figure out. How costly they could be. She will not waste your time. And will treat your dog and cat with respect. Thank you so much for everything. Che is back to himself. And we could not be happier. the stitches were so good he got his skin do the rest. He is good.

We have taken our animals to her for years, check-ups etc.. They have always seemed to be quite caring and we were always pleased with her services. Too bad I hadnt read reviews of her when it comes to respiratory ailments, then I would have found someone with a better knowledge in that area. My sweet Pekinese little baby girl started a nasty cough for no apparent reason, was charged ridiculous prices for two meds that did nothing, was given some cough suppressant pills and told she had kennel cough and collapsing trachea, but would be fine. She died in my arms 1 1/2 days later. Seems like a common problem for respiratory problems in her care. Moral is, If your animal has respiratory problems, find a vet who knows what they are doing.

If I could give Dr. Hanks and her employees 10 stars, I would! We actually live in Coppell, a good 30-40 minutes away, and we still go to her for all five of our animals. She is WONDERFUL, so kind and sympathetic, and her employees have all been top-notch professional at all times, unlike several experiences we had at a clinic just down the street from us. One thing we love about her is that the prices for her services are so much more reasonable than what weve paid for the exact same services at the local clinic. I dont know how she does it but we never walk away feeling "gouged" or like weve spent outrageous amounts of money. Despite the drive we will always take our animals to Dr. Hanks! I cant recommend her highly enough!

We are new to the area and our 12 year old Rottweilder was in the last stages of congestive heart failure this weekend. I found Dr Hanks and all of the great reviews last night on the internet. Knowing that I couldnt let our dog suffer any longer and would have to do something this morning I took her into Dr Hanks office. She confirmed what we already knew. She and her staff were very supportive and very compassionate. After the decision was made Dr Hanks got emotional and I got emotional but I knew and was comfortable that our Roxie would be taken care of with caring dignity and respect. Thank you Dr Hanks and staff for helping make a very difficult situation easier to experience.

Love this place! I moved to Dallas a year and a half ago, and have had nothing but negative experiences with veterinary offices in the North Dallas Metroplex area. Hanks is the epitome of what I think everyone looks for in a veterinary clinic for their furry family members. They treated my dog and I like we were regular customers on the very first visit. They were laid back about my high energy dog and even played with her some. Most importantly, the services were not over priced and they even fixed vaccination errors they spotted with other veterary offices Id been too. I love this place, and I feel good knowing I have somewhere to take my pets if the need arises.

A friend actually recommended that I visit this clinic because they were very kind and friendly and offered very affordable rates. So, I took my Pomeranian here for her annual check-up. I am so glad I decided to give them a try! Not only did I get her shots for a very affordable price but they also found out she had a worm problem...gross. Never in a million years would I have thought my little sunshine would get worms. The whole process was pretty quick and the wait time was minimal. Thanks!
