i found this physicians clinic lacking in their expeditious service when it come to patients request ( ie medical records). i had to request my medical records under the threat of filing a complaint under the hippa provisions and the texas medical board. however, the clinic is very quick to accept new patients and will overbook their physicians for profit at the expense of the patients health. for example, my appointment was rescheduled several times resulting in an overbook appointment with a temperamental and brutish dr. manuel garcia. surely, if this clinic cares for its patients it would not overbook and would recommend other physicians or offices. however, this was not the case. this office is an insurance mill. do not go there if you have private insurance and have self-respect. no one should be treated as an insurance number. do not allow this office to overbook you for the sake of money. i advise all my senior citizen friends not to visit dr. manuel garcia unless you wish to be verbally abused.

It has been two months since I was in the hospital for pneumonia and having a battery of tests done which indicated MVP (Mitral valve prolapse) with regurgitation serious enough to repair with a clip. Since then I have seen three cardiologists (Drs. Nguyen, Alvarez and Garrison) and taken more tests (dementia questions, breathing, etc.). Dr. Nguyen said he only does tests, Dr. Garrison said he only does open chest surgery, and that means Dr. Alvarez will do the clip. Everyone seems to be too casual and noncommittal about what comes next. I am getting a little impatient about the uncertainty and waiting.

When you arrive and step inside office it is very intimidating. That feeling goes away quickly with the first contact with the staff. While I have never spoken with the same person they have all been upbeat, helpful and knowledgeable with the computer system, procedures, and medical staff and the length of waiting is very minimal to see your doctor or go do labs. All scheduling and follow ups have always been done and prescriptions completed quickly. They have always impressed me in a positive way. I trust Doctor Jude with my health the office lets him think about his patients. That is important to me.

We see Dr. Font in this office. My dad receives excellent care. Dr. Font is extremely caring and gives his patients 100%. Hes great at explaining what the problem is and whats the best way to treat it. His assistant Pauline is wonderful. She always responds to my emails / phone calls in a timely manner or will relay questions to Dr. Font. The front office staff are courteous, get us checked in and out quickly. I would recommend this office if youre looking for a great cardiologist.

My experience with this facility has been excellent. All the staff is friendly and helpful, from the reception to the discharge staff. The majority of the time, I am out of there within ninety minutes. Of course, with any medical facility, there is always the rare occasion of delays but those are far and in between. I have been a patron of this facility since the 1980s and overall, this facility and staff are most excellent!

For the most part my care has been good to excellent. The doctors ands nurses are professional and courteous. Appointments have not always been prompt. The Achilles heel seems to be the administrative staff. Their service is sporadic and it is quite difficult to reach anyone on the phone or get any assistance on over the phone.

If you want or need a doctor who does not communicate with you about the most important muscle in your body, go to South Texas Cardiology Institute and get an appointment with Dr. Nguyen. And dont bother using the "fast, efficient way of communicating with our office" either. Nobody reads your messages.

Dr. Gonzales changed my appointment dates at the last minute and was brief with me. I felt that he could have taken the time to explain exam results to me thoroughly but he seemed to be in a hurry.
