The very first time I went to this dental office I had a decent experience. I simply had my teeth cleaned so the work was simple. This time around I scheduled an appointment a week in advance for a cleaning & extraction; the office set my appointment for a Thursday because that was the day I was available as well as it was a later appointment (3PM) I went in for an appointment just to have an ex-ray completed and to hear them tell me they were not going to clean my teeth or complete the extraction. (i also took off of work this day so now I missed money just to NOT be helped) so ofcourse my insurance paid for the ex-ray and visit for no reason . I asked the assistant if they wer closed the following day she responded yes , it seemed as if they did not want to do the work because they were off the following day or did not wish to be in the office longe. They even called me prior to my appointment and asked if icould reschedule for that Wednesday instead; Ofcourse not! I felt rushed out of the office just to be prescribed a mild medication and charged $30 just to draw up the RX. So there was no work done, they advised they do not do "same day extractions" (although iset my appointment a week in advance) and they refused to clean my teeth. Before i left the office she was sure to tell me I had cavities I needed filled as well. But ofcourse I wasnt able to get that done either. The very next day I went to Mint Dentistry who completed all the work they should have done at River Trails Dentistry in one sitting! I got 5 fillings for $50! GREAT WORK! I received a tooth extraction for $53 as opposed to the $90 i would have been charged at River Trails just for an extraction as well as had my teeth cleaned & received FREE whitening trays customized for my smile! The service at Mint was GREAT! I also watched Netflix on my beat headphones while receiving spectacular work! Id aslo like to mention it seemed as if Dr. Hong and her assistant were trying to convince me to pay for some sort of gas to put me to sleep during the extraction which would have ran me $300 had igotten this done at River Trails! This was not something I needed or even offered to me at Mint. Simple numbing was all that was needed. I am so glad I switched Dental Offices because I would have been out of pocket and out of time had I stayed with River Trails Dentistry. I will never go back to that place. If you have money to waste be my guest if not, make better decisions. :)

I apologize for this lengthy review, I am usually not one to voice my problems but I felt I must make others aware so this does not happen to them. I went to this dentist after moving to Texas, I had only known a small family dentist in the past and didnt know what to expect. During several visits including crowns and fillings she was NOT gentle but rather very forceful (its not my fault I have a small mouth and can only open it so far!). She also proceeded to tell me how I needed to seek other options besides blood thinner as if I havent already seen numerous hematologists in 2 states and dont have an underlying condition for it! During the crown procedures she asked me if everything was ok at the end, as if I was a dentist and knew what was good and what was bad, this is good for those who know what to expect but I do not as this was my first crown. Needless to say after 1.5 years of having the crown, it fractured for unknown reasons and it was not flush with my gum line. After going to my new dentist, they explained to me a crown on the same tooth would likely not be covered under my insurance since it was within 5 years and that I should try talking to the dentist who previously did the old one to cover their work and replace it. I went to Dr. Hong who told me the fracture was my fault and provided numerous excuses for the fracture. However, she did offer to replace the crown for a fee of $100 which I felt was a good deal and grateful for at the time. However, during the final procedure of cementing my crown they kept asking if it was ok, again I AM NOT A DENTIST! Of course it looks ok but you are the dentist who should be checking my bite and if it fits properly. I wouldnt have been so upset and writing this had they not reminded me NUMEROUS times that they do not cover any of their work on this crown and anything that happens after I leave their office, including if it comes off etc. After paying her another $100 and walking out of her office for the last time all I can say is I should have listened to my parents, theyre always right!! After everything has wore off it feels like my bottom teeth must be hitting the crown when I bite down, meaning I will have to go pay for a new crown in the near future that fits properly because I know not to call her! $100 down the drain again, I could cry because this crown has been nothing but a money pit! =(

I tried Dr. Hong twice and can honestly say that any reviews that say shes caring and "warm" are absolutely false. I highly suspect most (if not all) the 5 star ratings are fakes. As far as her dental practice, she is ok for a cleaning and that is about it. Any other procedure should include patience and understanding and Dr. Hong lacks both with her arrogant attitude towards the patient (and her staff). She is insensitive to your pain, is extremely rough and impatient, pressures you into an expensive treatment plan with no input from you, and quite frankly doesnt seem to even like her job. At one point I wanted to remind her that I was a paying customer, not a North Korean prisoner. Needless to say, I wouldnt go back even if she paid me. How she became a dentist is almost as baffling as why. EDIT: Since posting my review, more generic 5-star reviews were posted immediately. I am now convinced they are all fake. It appears easier for this woman to post fraudulent reviews instead of changing her attitude. Now Im doubting she even went to dental school. Find a good dentist elsewhere.

UNTRUSTWORTHY! My husband went there to have his impacted wisdom tooth removed. She offered a deep cleaning when she was done so my husband, not knowing what their definition a deep cleaning was, said yes because he hadnt been to the dentist in 3 years. A month or so later, she tells my husband that we owe her over $400 because the insurance denied the claim. Apparently the deep cleaning she performed is something you do for patients with signs of periodontal disease!! He showed no signed of periodontal disease so they denied the claim. Now we are on the hook. I asked for payment arrangements, they said sure. $50 November and December then PIF by the end of January! WOW! Because this happened in July so they have been waiting this whole time. Really? It shouldve never happened to begin with....they are a startup little shop DO NOT GO THERE unless you have money to throw around!
