Dr. Charles Proshek saved our little 3 lb., 8 yr. old teacup Chihuahua named “Littlebit” this past February 2015. We typically have taken our pets to low cost vaccination clinics and seldom use veterinary services. But she got so sick over a 2-3 day period. She wouldn’t eat, her abdomen was very swollen, and she got to a point she couldn’t even walk or hold her little head up. We started calling around to local vets on a Saturday afternoon when it was clear she was not getting better, but we quickly found most were closed as with many other businesses because there was a thick layer of ice on the road. However, Kingsbridge was open and picked up the phone. They said they were swamped and running only with a skeleton crew due to the ice preventing employees from getting there, but after telling them the situation they agreed to see littlebit immediately. We had a long wait (about 2 hours for the entire visit), but it was so worth it. It turns out Littlebit had a severe “closed infection” of her uterus and needed emergency surgery. Dr. Proshek did the surgery the same day and kept her over the weekend. He and his staff took such good care of her. Their passion and caring was very obvious, and Littlebit quickly returned to her old self within a short time. Once we researched and found out more, we realized how incredibly lucky we were. Littlebit would have definitely prematurely died if we did not take her in when we did or if Dr. Proshek and his team would not have acted when they did. Further, the cost of about $728 total was a fraction of what it could have run at an emergency veterinary hospital. We read lots of stories where it cost some folks upwards of $2,000 to $3,000 for the same type of emergency surgery, and many of them did not have the same positive outcome as we did. We still get teary eyed when we think how closely she came to a premature death. For this we will always be eternally grateful to Dr. Proshek and his staff. They have earned a special fondness in our hearts, and now we know where to take our pets always!

This vet was AMAZING. My dog has had severe allergies for years and I recently started taking her to another vet. I got home one day and her allergies were awful so I called the vet and it was a 5 hour wait so I started calling around to find someone to give her a allergy shot. The lady at the front desk was very kind and worked something out to fit my dog in. Since they had no open appointments I was told they would just give my dog her shot once they got the records from her other vet.The lady at the front desk had to call three times to get my pets records, while waiting for the records the nurse sat on the floor and talked to me about my pets history while kindly petting my dog. Once they finally got my records, the nurse got the wonderful doctor to exam my dog. He was very kind and determine to make her feel better. This was probably the best vet experience I have every had and my dog makes frequent vet visits. This is def my new vet!!!!!!

Euthanasia process: HORRIBLE. We show up at 5:20 for our 5:30 appt to have my moms 16 yr old cat put to sleep. We are kept in the waiting room until 5:50. Its noisy and smelly. We notice someone else just lost their pet and were leaving. Dawn comes around the corner with the clients pet in a bag. The bag was clearly visable and Dawn knew we were there. My mom was so upset that she saw that. Dawn shouldve had it covered by something. Finally we get put in a room. I say that mom wants to be there when her cat is sedated. They take her cat to the back to put the IV catheter in. The Dr comes back to tell us theyre ready, and that her cat is very sleepy. They had already sedated her. My mom didnt have a chance to hold her when she was awake!!! I was very upset by that, and will NEVER take my pet there, or recommend them to anyone. Very disappointed.

Dr. Proshek & Dr. Dunn are the best! Both of our cats got really sick. Dr. Dunn was through, professional, personal & knowledgeable. Usually at the vets office even sick they put up a fight being examined. With Dr. Dunn I could see they were more relaxed. They were well behaved, which is abnormal for my grandma & grandson kitties. The staff is very helpful, professional & caring. Well be using them again for vaccinations & any other needs our pets may have. Great Veterinarians who are very caring, & great staff. Grandma kitty, did fine for a week & then passed away. Her grandson got well for over 6 weeks, then got sick again. Dr. Proshek diagnosed him with Pancreatitis. Hes still in treatment. All the staff and Dr. Proshek have been so helpful. Best vets office, I have ever used, if you live in the Garland area you should check them out.

I have been taking my dogs to Dr. Proshek at Kingsbridge Animal Clinic for at least 7 years now. I have also worked at animal clinics before, and unlike doctors I have seen in the past that "man-handle" a scared animal to treat them and just get the job done quickly ... DR. PROSHEK takes the time to get to know the animal first and make them feel comfortable. He GENTLY holds the animals little face in his hands and gazes LOVINGLY into their eyes while speaking SOFTLY to them. When the animal feels more comfortable he begins his work, talking to them and calming them all the while. It just means so much to me that he cares about the way my pet feels and perceives things. Even my most difficult and timid dog gives Dr. Proshek kisses! Dr. Proshek and the Kingsbridge Animal Clinic staff are the best! ~Denise V

I called Dr. Prosheks office just before closing on Saturday. The told me to come right in with no waiting to put my Aust. Shepherd to sleep. I was beside myself with guilt and sadness. The staff and doctor went beyond any expectations to make this as positive experience as possible. I put my Great Dane down a year go, 5-2009, and it was horrific! My vet of 8 yrs and staff made me feel like business. Kingsbridge clinic made me feel like I was their family and helped me through a most difficult time. Thank you so much for your kindness. Even though I told them I have no more pets, for future business, I asked what I could do to thank them. They asked for nothing. This is an awesome clinic and make them your choice for your loving pet. God bless you Dr. Proshek. Robert and Maylee Green

Ive gone to this clinic with my pets since I was a kid and it was owned by a different doctor. The veterinarian back then was an amazingly kind man who helped me learn about life when I had to put my cat to sleep as a teenager. The current doc is just the same. We lost our beloved pup last year, but he and his awesome staff saved her once miraculously and did everything they could the second time, and when they couldnt, they cried along with us. They know us and especially our dogs by name and face even though theyre so busy! How could they know everyone? Its awesome to see a group of people truly care for animals like they do. They also groom and board pets, so its so easy to get everything we need!
