The Best Veterinarian Place Ive ever been too, not that the others were all that bad, but my dog seemed more comfortable here and he is an anxious dog at any vets. One reason is that since you need to make an appointment there are no crowds in the waiting room, so no other animals are making my dog anxious and they are fast to get you in to your appointment, so if you arrive on time they get you and your pet right in. Also, I had wanted my dogs nailed filed which they normally dont do but the assistant got an emery board and her and the veterinarian filed my dogs nails after the trim. I have no complaints about this place, only one although its not a big deal is that I think they are just a tad bit more expensive (just a few dollars more on a few things) than the last vet, but not much more but to me its worth it because theyre so good with my dog and all the things Ive previously mentioned.

Rude and uneducated staff, Called about neutering my small dog, I asked about costs they and what it included, receptionist said cost was for pain meds and "capstar" (which they require and is "mandatory" for their clinic) asked receptionist what that was she had no clue and had to put me on hold, when I asked for supervisor, "The Dr/ Owner" got on the phone and I informed him about my concern that his staff didnt know what a mandatory thing "that each of their patients get". He didnt listen to my concern and tried to defend his staff saying she was new (more than two months of working there, I asked) and that they wouldnt have everything memorized, I let him know that due to the uneducated staff I would not be using his facility and he got rude and raised his voice to me saying " I could find another facility then" and hung up. I would never trust my furry children to people like this!!!

Horrible attitude! Dr pirrung has no business ethic. Reviews Is by his employees. They dont explain what they are going to do. The assistant wasnt prepared. My dog is scared and they didnt direct me on anything. Of course a dog is going to defend them selves. Doctor said "youre the one that will be sued if he bites" why would you say that. You should tell someone that at the beginning of the visit. Just say hes too violent and we can move on. I work in the medical field Ill have him reviewed by higher ups. Dont be disrespectful to people cause you never know who they know. Be advised at you and your dogs own risk if you decide to take them here. This doctor is old and needs to retire with that horrible attitude. My money is going to someone that deserves it.

Im only giving this Vets office 3 stars because the doctor is wonderful. I really like him, as does my fur baby. My only issue with this place is the receptionist, the lady I spoke to was very rude! I ended up not scheduling an appointment and finding a new vet because of her rude she was. My dog is like my child, and she was in such discomfort that she was hardly even eating. She has sever allergies so I knew what was wrong. I called as soon as they opened to schedule an appointment. When I explained what was going on, she was rude and told me there were no appointments for another 2 days. My dog would have been miserable waiting another two days, thankfully I found another office who was nice enough to squeeze her in.

The South Mesquite Veterinary Hospital also has a Veterinary Clinic side-by-side. My dog has been to the clinic, not the hospital. I really like the clinic. They go by appointment which is real nice because you dont have to sit with a ton of other animals in the waiting room until who knows when youll get in, but instead, you get there at your appointment time and you and your dog go right in. Its faster than a first come first serve type of veterinary clinic. I did a little bit of research on fees lately too and found that their fees are actually cheaper than other places, so Im happy about this place. The staff and the veterinarian are very nice too. You cant go wrong here, your pet will appreciate it.

Absolutely love Dr.Pirrung was using another vet and decided to find a new bet for various reasons and I am glad I did ! Have had to call after hours on an emergency and he called back and actually helped tell me what to do to abaoid going to an emergency vet and accruing the expense ! This is what made my mind up to start using his facility . My bulldogs love him and we couldnt be happier with the service and the friendly staff and his vet tech is awesome . He is honest and doesnt waste your time with idle chatter chatter he tells it like it is and doesnt try to sell you on things you dont need yet saves you money with advice of optional treatments . I couldnt say more about Dr. Pirrung !!!!

Weve been taking our cat to SMVH since we moved to Texas 4 years ago. We love Dr. P! My cat is very nervous with vet visits, but Dr. Pirrung always calms her down before getting to the examine. We have never waited more than 5 minutes for our appointment and they are open on Saturdays. Its nice to finally find a vet that is good with cats, which we have had trouble finding in the past. You couldnt ask for a better vet and they are reasonably priced too.

THEY FIXED HER FOR NO KITTENS BUT ALSO CUT HER FRONT CLAWS DOWN TO THE QUICK . My cat could not even walk for three days . The least of my problems was a $ 36.00 price increase by the vet . The lady working out front said SHE ONLY works here and would not adjust the bill . I WILL NEVER GO BACK ..I had to take my cat TO-ANOTHER VET to get the stitches out . This place has bad service and worst a MEAN VET .... only after the almighty dollar ...

The staff was so helpful when I brought all three of my babies by myself and we were in and out in 20 minutes! One staff member even helped me carry one of my kitty crates to the car. I was expecting to pay about $100 more than I did and all of the rabies shots are good for 3 years! I didnt even know because the shots were only $13 a piece! I highly recommend this vet. I think Ive finally found the vet I will stay with for years to come.

We moved to Mesquite last summer. I needed to find a new vet for our animals. After reading the good reviews I decided on South Mesquite Veterinary Hospital because everyone seemed to have good experiences here. Mine was not any different. Everyone was very nice and the wait wasnt long at all! I was used to spending at least an hour at my old vets office in Dallas. This is a very good new vet for animals. :)

Theres been a Dr. Pirrung taking care of my family for the past 46 years. First a people doctor, now a vet. Dr. Mark Pirrung has been my vet for 20 years now. The doctors and staff at SMVH are the best. Theyve seen me through everything with great knowledge and gentle care. I wouldnt dream of taking my pets anywhere else. PS. I am not an employee or a relative or anything else other than a satisfied customer!
