Our dog has frequented their dog daycare for over a year now with a standing every Wednesday reservation. We were willing to overlook the lack of webcams since we liked the location and the large backyard space. We have decided to stop taking our dog here for various reasons. I believe that this facility is too busy to want our business; the emails they send and the Facebook posts all have a tone of "were too busy for your dog, dont come here". I have been feeling this way for several months now because several times when Ive dropped off my dog Id be asked if I can change my days from Wednesday to another day, and over and over Ive told them no. Why in the world would you try and get a regular customer to change a recurring daycare day; this makes no business sense whatsoever. Also, Ive been extremely disappointed over the last year as I would pick my dog up and hope that someone would tell me about my dogs day. That has literally NEVER happened with the exception of last week when I had to ask for a report of my dogs daily activities while in their care. I stated that the entire time my dog has frequented here, no one has ever taken the time to give me an update. After asking, I was informed that my dog goes and lays in the corner or on the wall and doesnt socialize. Why wasnt I told that a year ago? To be fair, I was informed that my dog does enjoy the outside and loves playing with the ball. I also get the sense that the daycare portion of this business is run by kids. As a client, we recently received an email from them that they were closing daycare for a week due to their staff returning to school for the season. Huh? We recently received ANOTHER email from them, again changing their system. This time I was optimistic since they were going to an online reservation system. Their email specifically said "We now have our Online Doggie Daycare site up and rolling! This site will be used by you to register for the days your pet is participating in PlayCare. Soon you will receive no more texts, emails or calls unless we have your pet as registered and your pet is not with us by 9:00." I created an account line per their instructions, I entered my recurring daycare days of Wednesday and figured I was all done. My husband dropped her off this morning to a statement from the staff "oh we are really busy today, dont you get our confirmation emails, shes not confirmed. Wednesdays are busy for us, can you change to Monday or Friday?" This was the final straw for us! My husband called concerned about the interaction with the front desk and I asked him to turn right around and pick our dog up and that enough was enough with them. I phoned and spoke to the manager about my numerous complaints and stated that if they decide to fix their systems to feel free and call me back, but until then, my dog wont be back.

Worst experience ever. Terrible. We recently got two puppies from an animal rescue and they both needed to be neutered and micro-chipped (we had not had a dog for almost two years after our previous dog of 17 years passed away). I called Murphy Road Animal Hospital because it is 5 minutes from our house. The receptionist was very nice, but informed me that the next time for doing surgery would be in about a month. I thought that was kind of a long time because our old vet would never have made us wait that long. I would have gone back to our old vet because we absolutely loved him, but unfortunately he passed away almost two years ago. Well, I decided to go ahead and make the appointment. I was informed that I would be e-mailed forms to fill out and information on the neutering, but that e-mail never came. In the meantime, one of the dogs was having what appeared to be allergy problems, so I called to make an appointment to take him in. I was able to get an appointment for two days away. I figured when we went in that I could fill out any paperwork and get the information on the neutering, so I was not too worried that I still had not gotten the e-mail I was told I would get (should have known better). Well, we arrived at the Vet for our appointment to check our dogs allergies, and we were told they had no record of an appointment for that day. They had a record of the appointment for the neutering, so I knew we were in the right place. Plus, I had the vets name, Dr. Mathis, and that was correct. I was told they could try to fit us in, but it might take a while. There was one other person in the waiting room at the time. I was just going to re-schedule, but then the receptionist told me she would check with Dr. Mathis. She came back and told me Dr. Mathis would work us in ASAP. Well, an hour later we were still waiting and there was now a room full of other people and pets waiting. My dog, being only 5 months old and not being used to being around a bunch of other pets, was whinning and barking most of the time. After that hour wait I finally got fed up and told them we were leaving and to cancel our neutering appointment too. I have made arrangements with another vet, who seems very nice and accomondating, but we will see. How I miss my old vet.

TERRIBLE. Cares more about money than animals. Example #1 – My friend adopted a dog from the adoption across the street which Murphy Road operates. After paying a sizable adoption fee, they informed her that she was required by contract to get the dog neutered at Murphy Road and that part of her adoption fee went toward the neutering. She thought no big deal.... UNTIL THEY CHARGED HER $500 FOR NEUTERING. Average cost is barely over $100. Not Convinced?. Example #2 – Every 3 months when I get heart worm medication from PetMeds which requires a authorization from my vet. Problem is Murphy Road blocks the authorization and then tries to sell me the same medication. I say no because I have quit going to the vet because of the insane pricing. They then proceed to tell me, “Well, we assure you where the medication is coming from unlike PetMeds and we only want whats best for your dogs.” I still tell them know, please authorize our payment. They then tell me, “Well I will submit this to our Vet, but I am not sure when they can get to it.” I then say, so what you are telling me is you want whats best for my dogs, but wont authorize my payment? They then proceed to hold up the payment for 3 days after 2 more calls to their office demanding to speak with a vet, which they declined to do. Example #3 – I have been getting email marketing, direct mail marketing literally every few days for months telling me my dogs are overdo for services they have already had. I am not joking, at least once a week for months. Example #4 – Our vet bills were almost double the bills we have now with Richland Animal Hospital. This business is a racket. Do NOT give them your business. Try Richland Animal Hospital instead. Much better service and fair pricing.
