We have never had anything but good experiences with Rivertown Animal Hospital, and weve been bringing our beloved dog there for almost six years, for routine check ups as well as for several surgeries. He is 11 now and is healthy and fit as he can be thanks in part to the great care he has received from Dr. Garlie and her wonderful staff. Everyone is friendly and genuinely cares about both pets and people alike. For a while there, I thought they liked my dog best because of how nice they were to him, but then I saw them treating every other dog and cat that came walking in the door the same way, so I guess they think everyone is the best:) Weight control, diet, and dental care are all things that are as important for pets as they are for people and these things are all addressed as part of routine check ups, in a kind and nonjudgemental way. "Senior panel" blood work is available for older dogs in order to catch any potential scary problems early, when they are most likely to be treated effectively. Noninvasive tests such as ultrasound are an option to catch certain things that blood tests might miss. These are offered with the goal of keeping your pet healthy and happy. Should your pet require surgery, the highly competent staff at Rivertown is able to provide the best care in this area as well. Pain control is a primary concern, and patients are well medicated before, during and after every procedure. The equipment is state of the art and the surgery suite, like the entire clinic, is immaculately clean. They also care enough to keep your sweet pet warm during surgery and recovery. We know this because our dog has been the recipient of this care on multiple occasions. From orthopedic surgery, to a couple of different mass removals, to a tooth extraction performed same day due to the severity of the fracture, he has come through each time without complication and with a quick, complete recovery. We wouldnt think of going anywhere else for our dogs medical care. To Dr.Garlie, Dr.Arnesen, Dr. Thorson, Dr. Strupp, Niki, Molly, Paula, Sandy, Jade, Katie and everyone else at Rivertown, thank you for treating Ranger like hes your own dog every time we walk through your doors. We cant tell you how much it means to us that he is in such good hands. You are the best!

We have been taking our dog Charlie (yellow lab) to Rivertown Animal Hosiptal for 9 years. Just recently it was discovered he had cancer in his front leg. We made a very difficult decision to have it amputated, and what a relief for him he was in unbelievable pain, not able to put any weight on the leg. My wife and I know that Charlie is gonna die one day, but clearly he showed us he wasnt ready....we bought a ramp at a garage sale for him about a year ago and now use it(the irony) He still wants to leap into the car when we go for RIDES. He is so happy to be living, and is a big part of our family thanks to Ginger and the staff at Rivertown. They have been absolutely AMAZING through the whole process, never once beating around the bush about life expectancy, limitations, etc. Thank you so much! !

THE BEST ON THE PLANET!! No kidding, Dr. Ginger Garley and her very trained staff are excellent. They have saved the lives of many of our pets from a tiny gerbil, our now 9 year old sweetie pie, 4.5 lb Chihuahua, Bowzer, and our now almost 14 yr. old part persian kitty, Bobcat. We are always blown away with how much they follow-up and the amount of time spent making sure we know exactly what to expect, what the test results are, and any options/remedies there are available. Seriously, I would hope our human doctors spent this amount of time off the clock conversing with us and answering questions, but then....its because these people at Rivertown really, truly care. You wont be sorry to trust the care of your beloved pets to this clinic/hospital; they are the best of the best!

Dr Garlie is amazing!! From start to finish the entire team there was nothing short of outstanding! Every staff member was so kind and extremely welcoming to us and our dog. They provide through and AFORDABLE services. We felt like family instead of customers! If you care about your pet Dr. Garlie is the vet for you! Drs Garlie, Arneson and Thorsen have superior knowledge and skill and the staff is beyond amazing. Kindness, authenticity, quality care, and superior service. I will never go any place else. I couldnt be happier with the TLC that was given to my dog while she recovered from a life threatening situation. Ive been taking both of my dogs to Rivertown for a few years and every time we arrive, we are greeted with a smile and someone to attend to my dogs as if they were their own!!! Every one of the staff is kind, thoughtful, caring and knowledgable and makes me feel completely comfortable with their competence in the care of my dogs. Couldnt recommend them enough!

I just picked Dr. Garlie out of the telephone book when we moved to Oak Park Heights from Ames, Iowa ten years ago. I was later told by a long time resident in this area that I made a very lucky choice, that she was the best vet here! Communication, it is SO VITAL in business! Rivertown Animal Hospital has it in. The lack of comm at the last vet that did PennHip is why I found Rivertown. The doctors here meet with you, cover what may be going to happen in procedures, visit on variables, ask if you have questions, follow-up with phone calls if you need further assistance. Its WONDERFUL working with this group with GREAT communication! Keep it up!!
