Dusk Dawns
First, as Desiree stated, I used to see Brenda at Betts office and many times I had to wait 45 at the least! One time I waited an hour an a half before I got called and put in an exam room, then another 20 listening to her chat with the nurses in the office before coming in...did I mention that I got worked over by the nurse over a med I want taking any more...and got a "threatening" ultimatum over a urinalysis I was refusing to take because I want on any narcotic meds and under no contact for random tests. The nurse then accused me of being on drugs since I refused and the consequence was that they would stop prescribing all my meds... Which were pretty serious meds considering my severe medical issues. I took the test because of that threat and when I passed I didnt receive an apology, even tho I had every right to deny taking the test. Finally Brenda comes in, quickly goes over what the nurse wrote, signs my scripts, and gets up to leave. I stop her at the door because I had some questions and as she opened the door she said, and I quote "I only have 15 minutes per patient so you need to make another appointment." And she shut the door... Well until I caught it. I had some choice words and told them to stick their 2 hour and 5 minute consult up Betts ass. Ive now found an amazing doctors in Winchester if anyone would like her name. As for JCH emergency room, its a joke. Ive sat...alone or by myself, with deep lacerations requiring staples, constant vomiting, breathing difficulties, volcanic diarrhea, fevers of 101 and above, broken bones that need set... For hours before seeing a doctor with no one else in the ER. The one time I was most impressed was when I came in as a trauma patient with my arm broken in half, literally, with a laceration where the bone had come out of the skin. Even the attending physician came down from upstairs to see my crazy x-ray. That one time they were amazing with me and sent me on my way to Parkview... In and out in maybe 2 hours with x-ray, people who just had to see the X-ray, and the wait in the EMTs. If they could always be that quick, considerate, and thorough, JCH might be a decent place to go when you need to...

They are only concerned with whether you are a drug addict. I went in because I threw out my back. My first visit went very well, the nurses and attending treated me with respect and did everything in their power to make me comfortable and told me to return if my pain didnt recede. My second visit was with a Dr. Robinson, who lashed out at me and told me I was lying about when my injury occurred and told me I only wanted narcotics and that I was an addict since I couldnt take two of the medicines he offered. He refused to call my doctor to confirm that this was a new injury. I would never recommend going to Jay County Hospital. Always go to Ball Hospital or Lutheran in Fort Wayne if you can. At least youll be treated like a human being.

Weve been to the ER here a few times. Each time the wait has been incredibly short and the service was good. Staff were friendly and competent. Price was very good for the service received, which matters a lot if youre paying out of pocket.

Brenda at Dr Haggejos office makes patients wait for almost an hour before being seen. Stands in the hall and talks about the weather and other stuff while patients are waiting.
