I used to love the staff and location, and so did my dog! That is, until about less than a year ago. First of all, they signed my dog up with a premium wellness plan once her puppy plan was up... that I did not authorize, sign for, or anything! After that, they made an appointment for her to get her teeth cleaned... that I never set up. So far Ive had to cancel two teeth cleaning appointments that I have not made myself. I dropped my dog off yesterday for yearly checkup. I had signed a waiver that said "please contact me if you go over $0 dollars in additional fees." They never called, and ended up cutting her nails, expressing her anal glands, and giving her some $20 Benadryl medication for after her rabies vaccine without my consent, not much but they wanted to charge me $80. I told them that shes never gotten any kind of reaction to her vaccines (maybe if they looked at her file, they wouldve noticed)... they claimed that her breed was in "high risk" for allergic reactions to the vaccines. Ummmm my dog is a mutt, I dont even know what breed she is. On another occasion, the vet there gave me the wrong medication after I specifically said I wanted the other kind, I just ended up throwing it away. She also told me that my dog needed a $300 surgery to remove an eyelash from her eye.... so even though I told her I would think about it, the Dr. set up an appointment anyway. I ended up plucking the hair for free...it was so easy and FREE. Needless to say, beware! Its starting to feel like it is completely a scam, the Progress Ridge location in beaverton one, at least.

Let me start off this review by saying we as a family think of our dog as family, not as pet. So if I come across as sensitive to non-sensitive person please understand. Our family member had hurt himself and we thought it best to get him checked out. So we searched for an open animal hospital. We found Banfield Pet Hospital that closed at 7pm on Sunday. We all pilled in the car and were on route to Banfield Pet Hospital. At 6:30pm we made the mistake of calling this Banfield Pet Hospital and were greeted with rudeness and distain. We had already checked to see what time the hospital closed and it was 7pm. So we thought we would do the right thing and call a head. However after informing the person who answered the phone that we were three/four minutes away (this was verified by google/maps). We were put on hold and then informed that the hospital would not be able to take us “as imaging can take some time”. We then asked if they were aware of another hospital that was open and this question was taken with utter distain that we had the audacity to ask this. Grrrr We then pressed for a hospital that was close to them as we reaffirmed we were that close to them, we were given a name (the phone number was in accurate). I have since done a search and found that there was at least three hospitals closer that were open and closer than the one we were given. I am not sure if the person who answered the phone was having a bad day as we all do from time to time. But this hospital definitely made my bad day even worse.

Beware! Two months ago, we adopted our awesome dog from a shelter and brought her to Banfield for a check up, blood work and a dental exam. It is standard for them to do the blood work before the anesthesia for the dental exam/cleaning. They missed a _HUGE_ red flag in my dogs blood work that would have assuredly led to a diagnosis of insulinoma (cancer on the pancreas that causes hypoglycemia/low blood sugar). Additionally, they were grossly negligent when they ignored the blood work and put her under for unnecessary dental surgery that could have killed her. They never told us about the extremely low glucose levels in her blood. In fact, they told us that her labs came out great! So, when I took my dog on a regular afternoon walk 2 days ago, she had a grand mal seizure due to extreme low blood sugar. Today, we had to put our dog down because they didnt do their job. The doctor took full responsibility and apologized. But, how can that ever be enough?

This review is for Dr. Ackerman and her outstanding care for my furry child. Dr. A is knowledgable, caring, attentive and personable. She cares about knowing you and your pet and establishing a care plan that best suits the needs of your pet, while also accommodating your lifestyle. I could not ask for more in a Vet. I always feel as though she genuinely cares for both my dog and I. At the end of every appointment she double checks to ensure shes addressed all questions and makes an necessary suggestions moving forward. I am so grateful to have met her and had her by my side as I struggled with several issues my dog went through. I would absolutely recommend her to any and everyone seeking a new vet. This location, however, is not without flaws. The wait times are usually 15-20 minutes after an appointment was supposed to start. However, the staff is very kind, competent and resonsive. They take an interest in your pet and provide excellent care!

Banfield is a retail store 1st and a place that cares about the well being of your pet 2nd. During your entire visit they will try and sell you things you dont really need or want. The main thing they are going to try and sell you is their Wellness plan which is pretty much health insurance for your pet. Unless your pet is terminal this is not needed in any means. Yet they will try to sell it 3-4 times before you leave. They will also try and tack on things to your visit such as extra xrays special drugs or food etc. Thats for all Banfields. This particular branch is especially bad. Not only do they do the above but the people at the front counter are extremely slow at everything they do. I also dont really like how some of the doctors talk to me about my pet. On top of that I was called yesterday to be reminded of an appt i never made. I will be looking for a different vet.

I am not a fan of Banfield as a company. I have been to many of their locations and have not been entirely satisfied. But the veterinarian here and the staff at this location are the best in Portland! Dr. D and the staff are knowledgeable, courteous, passionate about what they do and they truly care about your pets and you. They take the time to get the job done right. Again, I am not a fan of Banfield...in fact I dislike the company, their pricing and their health plans (which are a waste and difficult to terminate). The staff here is the only reason I am still Banfields customer and I will recommend this location to anyone! If Dr. D ever leaves Banfield....they will lose a customer as well.

Deplorable scam, they used pressure points, they will literally make you feel as bad as they can and as afraid for your animal as they can plus imply that youre a bad pet owner if you do not get insurance! to try to sell insurance that their company provides! The place is a great big scam, Whatever you do steer clear, Side note as I was pissed off waiting for them to process my bill, lady in the front has the nerve to tell me to calm down or else she will have to ask me to leave. Literally they do not want the people in the front to catch on that this is a scam Lets just say Im going to be calling my attorney about this
