THIS IS WORTH THE TIME TO READ A year ago on a Sunday evening in Feb while at my Mothers birthday party my Great Dane (only 3 months old) came running up the outside deck to my calls. Her hind leg slipped in mid run and the momentum was enough to snap her leg in a horrible spot. The cries from my baby girl were horrible she wouldnt stop. I was scared and Knowing it was evening time and a Sunday to boot I began to call the closest emergency clinics in the area. One was NW veterinary emergency animal hospital.........I only have bad things to say in reguard to there response....they had no compassion, and just plain didnt care and told me that unless I had a full ammount of money for a surgury (that most likely would be required) that they wouldnt see me. Then I called VCA Southeast..........here again it was as though i was annoying them by my call. They seemed rushed and i felt as though I was interupting their buisy day...I was told that due to money issues (basically i couldnt afford 5000 dollars) that it might be best to cut my dogs leg off and besides she can still be happy and its cheaper..........YEAH RIGHT!!!! NOT. I ended up callin Tualitin emergency animal hospital.........THEY WERE WONDERFUL!!! They told me up front that it would be expensive but they would work with me and that they could stabalize her but they didnt have the facilities to do the surgury. They could help...... MONDAY MORNING came and they had called around for me in search of someone who would be willing to work with my finacial situation and get my girl the care she needed so she wouldnt be without her leg. They found Dr. Patrick Paradis. He was honest about the cost and outcome. He was also caring and understanding. He helped me aply for credit and with the down I got from the credit he then let me make weekly payments. My Girl is healthy, Happy, AND RUNNING ON ALL FOUR PAWS TODAY!!! I recomend this place and still drive the hour long distance for all my dogs care through him. The staff and the environment, the great service and my sweet girls happiness is worth the world to me...So in response to the review about nickle and diming you....yes they do charge a bit more but honestly would you take your child to a half rate hospital because it cost you less? Would you take the chance on your childs life your pets life to save a nickle or a dime.............I KNOW I WOULDNT!!! THANK YOU DR. PARADIS....THANK YOU EVERYONE AT WOODBURN PET HOSPITAL FOR SAVING MY GIRLS LIFE AND MY HAPPINESS.

1. Watching Dr. Paradis euthanize my old dog has caused me long lasting trauma. Watching him fumble around causing my dog great pain and suffering and finally admitting we needed to go to his office was far worse that watching a convict die of a lethal injection! 2. 3. Dr. Pardis arrived at my an hour earlier than agreed, without calling. He did not have the equipment necessary to euthanize my big dog. He asked for scissors. Although provided with the information, he didnt know my dogs name or his weight, or he would have brought some help! After four very painful tries, he was not able to put my big old dog to sleep as promised. My dog was yelping and crying. 4. 5. I worked for the last five years to keep my dog happy and comfortable. Luther, my dog, got insulin shots twice a day and never even flinched. Dr. Paradis said this procedure wouldnt cause any more pain than an ordinary shot. I will never be able to forget my dogs yelps from pain, not once, but four times. Member Comments: • Dr. Paradis told me he would need to take Luther to his office. He loaded him into his truck, using the dogs tail to lift his back end. Dr. Paradis evidently had the equipment there that he needed. My dog went to sleep after another very painful shot. I stayed with my old boy for awhile, unable to move, due to extreme anguish. I could hardly breathe. I wish the doctor could have been more caring and compassionate. He explained nothing and barely spoke. This is not the way I wanted my old friend to die. • The room where I was with my dog had a window. Every time I looked up, a lady at the counter was staring at me. She would not look away. Her staring made me so uncomfortable and embarrassed me. I DON"T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO SUFFER LIKES I DID! Do not use Woodburn Pet Hospital, and especially Dr. PARADIS Claire Robley

Dr. Paradis is not an animal lover nor a compassionate vet. In my opinion, he is only a practicing Veterinarian for the money and sought after prestige. He has lost dozens of clients over the last several years due to his lack of bedside manner, exorbitant fees and unnecessary tests/meds. I used to be one of his clients, until he delayed help for my great dane with pneumonia and treated him for kennel cough instead. He also was unable to help him nutritionally as he has no training in that segment of medicine. He then performed surgery on another great dane which died the next day of hypothermia. I had a necropsy done and the office could not find the paperwork from the lab. Dr. Paradis gave a lame excuse that she must have had a heart problem. Recently I had a dane in full bloat, rushed to his office which was the closest and he refused to treat her. I was stunned. I realized after it was all over, that he didnt dare treat her as his lack of skill would probably have killed her and could potentially have a lawsuit on his hands (especially due to the lack of proper treatment with my other danes.) Needless to say, in my opinion, he is a disgrace to the profession. His expensive new facility does not make up for the fact that he has caused several people I know to never return to him. If you do need to see a vet in Woodburn , I highly recommend Woodburn Veterinary Clinic. They have several qualified vets to help you.

Never take your dog for grooming at this place. I took my dog here for a grooming and before I did. asked everyone at this place how the groomers were. and they all said that they just got a guy from Salem in and he was one of the best for Bichons. I took there word for it. I got a phone call from this guy. sorry! cant remember his name. he called me to say that he was knotted and needed to cut him a little bit shorter. I was really surprised that he said he was knotted because I brush my dog every day. I went to pick him up and he was cut down to the skin. I was so angry! with this guy. and when I got home I thought about it more. and decided to call and talk to the own because I felt that I should NOT have been charged for what he did. my dog was NOT knotted to be cut down to the skin. when I called to talk to the owner. I was told that he was busy and hed call me when he had a chance. well! days went by and know call. I kept calling back and still no call. then when I called again. I was told that I wasnt getting my money back. and the owner never did get back to me. Id NEVER! take my dog back there for grooming. .
