My grandmother was here for a few weeks...i highly recommend not to send your love one here .. Since she was moved to another place we found out that Southland had been giving my grandmother b12 shots for energy but let them tell it they dont give shots there.. also had her on 6 medications for stuff that wasnt even wrong with her that caused her to stay asleep all the time so she getting energy shots and sleeping pills... Something dont sound right...2 nurses dropped her while trying to get her out her bed... And she was being checked on like 2 times a day and wasnt changed for hours... This is a place you take your love one if u dont care for them thank God we got my grandmother out of there....

I was not excited about going to rehabilitation after total knee replacement, but it was not to be.. Well I arrived..greeted by head of Southland, who told me she loved me. Everyone in the facility, not even one were not first class..the rehabilitation unit is super, and I will go back should I need further rehab. They worked with me to regain my strength and stamina.. Never thought I could walk up 14 stairs at home..well I did. Also the facility is extremely clean..and I toured the facility in wheelchair, even visiting one of mom friend who was recovering from fall. No I do not work there, but I do want people to know we have a 1st class facilities in Southland Rehab in peachtree city, ga

During my fathers stay at Southland Rehabilitation he was treated horribly. He suffered a stroke and was treated like he is mentally insane. His speech is very limited and everytime he attempted to speak to the nurses, directors, etc. they would ignore him. Even when he yelled to get their attention they would continue to ignore him and make rude remarks to one another underneath their breath. His right side is very weak because of his stroke and when they moved him they did it as if he was a sack of dirt. Not only did we watch him get treated terribly, as he learned to speak clearer he told us himself. I hope that your fathers first sentence will not be, "Nobody takes care of me."

My grandfather was severely neglected here. He was admitted after suffering a stroke. We would come to visit him and he would be falling out of the bed. He would wait for hours to use the restroom. They wouldnt brush his teeth for him. He was barely ever checked on. The facility was infested with scabies which I caught and suffered with for a long time. He eventually developed MRSA from this place and was basically comatose when we decided to call an ambulance where they told us what he had. He died from the MRSA a couple of weeks later.

The physical therapists are outstanding; the place is clean. Some of the nursing staff seem to prefer not to have to actually do nursing work. Small amenities for the patients fall short. When you are sick and have to be in a place like this small things make a huge difference.
