A complete lack of concern. The two stars are for annual checkups and vaccines - wonderful clinic, sweet people, not terrible wait time, and $99 package for everything included! Definitely makes your wallet happy. HOWEVER, this is NOT the place to go for procedures! I have had a terrible experience with this clinic to take care of my dogs ear hematoma as described below. Sunday 8/13: Discovered my dog had a huge bulge on her ear, I had no clue as to what it was. Monday 8/14: Called clinic to set up the appointment, soonest they could see her was the next afternoon. Tuesday 8/15: Took dog in for appointment. They informed me it was an ear hematoma that had formed from an ear infection. They suggested they drain it, made sure I knew it wasnt 100% effective, and quoted me $207. Thursday 8/17: Dropped her off that morning, they said the doctor would call after the procedure was complete to let me know how it went. Three o clock rolled around and I had not heard anything so I called; the front desk told me she had done fine and to pick her up at 4:30. She came out with a man who seemed very inexperienced. He handed me her meds, told me to go pick up a No Flap Ear Wrap that "any pet store around here will have," and keep an eye on her so she doesnt shake her head. I asked how long she should wear the wrap and he just said, "until it looks healed." He told me about six more times that theres a chance of reoccurrence, handed me my $279 bill, and left me confused. Off I went to find this wrap... the man at Petco looked at me like I was crazy when I asked where they kept their wraps, said he had never heard of that and to look online. Turns out, there is only one specialty company who makes them and it would be another 4 days before it arrived in the mail. Friday 8/18: Upon waking, we saw that our dog had wiggled out of the Ace bandage contraption we had constructed to keep her from flapping her ear... and the hematoma had returned. That was only 12 hours upon picking her up. Unacceptable. Weekend: Continued giving meds to see if it got any better. Dog stopped eating and drinking on Sunday and was miserable in the Ace bandage contraption. Monday 8/21: Called the clinic at 8 AM right when they opened and left a voicemail since no one answered. Called back at 10:49 AM and spoke to the front desk clerk who told me she would ask one of the vets to call me back (the one who did my dogs procedure would not be back in until Friday). Called back at 4:18 PM and spoke to a different front desk clerk who informed me that a technician was notified of the problem, would tell he doctor, and then the doctor would call me back. Hematoma looks worse than ever. Dog is lethargic, not eating or drinking, all around miserable, and I cant get the veterinarian to return my calls. This lengthy review is all to say one thing: Do NOT take your animals here for anything other than a routine annual check up. They dont know what theyre doing otherwise, and dont care at all once theyve collected your money and sent you on your way without the tools for success. I will not be returning.

I never write reviews. Im pretty sure this is my first ever, but I felt compelled to do so, on case anyone is going through what I went through. I have an adult female cat, 6 yes old. She started acting strange, less friendly, more agitated than normal. Frequent trips in and out of the litterbox, scooting, excessive licking of her genitalia, and then inappropriate urination outside of the litterbox. When I noticed it was tinged with blood, I knew I had to get her to a vet. Now just having moved to Austin not even a year ago, I had not set my cat up with a vet yet, which in retrospect was a bad idea. I am also going through a bad breakup, and literally need every cent to make it back home to NJ. I called roughly 25 local Veterinarians looking for advice, and prices. All wanted to see her right away, for hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Even after explaining my financial hardship, I was only met with, "we do not bill out", and "try applying for care credit". Its maddening. Sometimes, financial hardship happens, and its a shame that most Veterinarians are first and foremost a business, and only see you as a dollar sign. I want you to know that Thrive Affordable Vet care is different. What a godsend this place has been for me and Lola. They offer a 10$ exam, and work with you every step of the way. Their prices are not only affordable, but totally doable, and they do not guilt you, which makes it so much less stressful! The Vet tech was so friendly and reassuring, I wish I remembered her name. The Veterinarian, Bethany Fackler, was not only one of the nicest people I have ever met, she was very knowledgeable, and gentle with my cat, who is not very trusting of anyone besides me. She really took the time to answer all of my questions, and make sure Lola was comfortable. I highly recommend bringing your pet here for excellent care, and very affordable prices. They truly have your pets best interest at heart!

They were great when I was able to schedule an appointment but today when I go in after being told on the phone that I could do a drop off from 8:30-7:30 that after they said I could bring my dog in (with a wound) that the male who spoke with me that they were too busy and I couldnt even leave her to get looked at. They offered no assistance in helping or other options. I find it highly unacceptable that they will do as much as let a poor dog leave injured. You can forget future buisness from either of my 2 dogs because clearly taking as much as 5 minutes of looking at her is not important. Im just glad it wasnt a worse injury because he didnt even do as much as look at her, that speaks volumes on how much they care about the health and welfare of animals.

I have only been to Thrive 1x so far for my dogs office visit when I first moved to Austin. . Everyone was nice, the Dr explained everything to me after the exam and answered my questions. I will be back with my dog and cats. The only odd thing to me is that you wait in a room while your pet is brought to another room? Not sure why they would do this. I had never been to an vet office who chose is way to exam. I would prefer being with my pet during an exam so I can ask questions at that moment as my thoughts come in. Wish they would change this practice. To me its more customer friendly to bring you back with pet. Besides this strange thing to me I will still use them as long as the quality of care is top notch.

LOVE this vet! We have two cats and two large dogs and let me tell you, their care adds up. We used to see a nearby vets office - we loved the vets there but its frustrating to get a $100-200 bill every time your pet needs their vaccines! Thrive on the other hand is amazing and super affordable. The staff are lovely, the whole place is really clean and chic, and the prices are AMAZING. Its only $10 for a head to toe exam from the vet! And for just $76 you can get your dog updated on rabies, bordatella, DHLPP, plus a heartworm test and parasite screening. Thats literally less than half what Ive paid for the same things at competitors. Love this place and its the only vet office well go to from now on!
