I have been taking my three cats to Family Pet Clinic since they opened. Drs. Randy and Dan Matthiesen continue to impress me with their kindness and compassion as well as their knowledge of veterinary medicine. One of my cats, George, was diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Dan worked with me to manage the diabetes with daily insulin injections. When Georges kidneys eventually began to fail him, Dr. Dan taught me how to give him fluids at home and special injections to increase his red blood cell count. I know that without the care I found at Family Pet Clinic, my dear George would not have graced us with his presence these last two years. When the time finally came to say goodbye and have George euthanized, the entire staff at Family Pet Clinic was incredibly supportive. Dr. Randy Matthiesen made a house call so that Georges last moments could be in the comfort of his own home. I wholeheartedly recommend Family Pet Clinic, Drs. Matthiesen, and their staff to anyone who wants caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable care for their pets. These experienced vets are very dedicated to taking care of animals.

I dont normally write reviews. I have to be either extremely satisfied or equally dissatisfied to post a review. Recently I moved to another state and I needed to find a vet in order to get a prescription filled for my 13 year old lab, who has been on this particular medication for the past 12 years. It became so difficult to get this accomplished with the vet I took her to that in tears of frustration I called Family Pet Clinic, where I took my dogs while I lived in Oregon. They are always so friendly, polite, knowledgeable and responsive that they make every encounter Ive had a pleasure. I can always rest assured that my pets are getting the best of care; the doctors as well as the staff listen and always follow through. They even called me back on a Saturday to let me know my prescription was on its way. I, and my dogs as well, will really miss this office. When youve had a bad experience elsewhere it makes leaving a good thing all the more difficult.

I have been a client for 4 years. The Dr.s are wonderful ! However there is issues with the front desk receptioinst, she is rude and is down right nasty to her co-workers and clients. some days she is some what nice and others when talking on the phone she is just nasty. I stopped in one day and she was taliking rudely to the new receptonist and putting her down infront of clients! I could see the embarassment in this poor ladies face, I felt very bad about it and talked to the dr. about it on my next appt. It wasnt long after that the nice receptionist wasnt there any more. I feel that the rude blonde ran her off, I really liked the redhead and feel the blonde should have been the one to go. Its the receptionist who is the first impression of the clinic and I always felt I wasnt being treated very repectfully. There should be more people like the redhead. I hope she has a great job at another veteinary clinic.

I have taken my cats and dog to this vet on numerous occasions and have always had a great experience. I have found their rates very reasonable and have really appreciated the fact that they listened to me when I said I was on a tight budget. They have always given very compassionate care to my animals and even helped me cut costs where I can. The Doctor suggested buying our doses of frontline for both the dogs and cats at the same time in the package for dogs and dividing it out ourselves, this saves us about $30. I would recommend them to anyone!

Dr. Dan is simply fantastic. Down to earth, practical, and 100% for the pets comfort above all. In the over ten years we have been going there, he has turned into a wonderful person on top of being a top shelf Veterinarian. Hes hands on, gentle, respectful, and even the tragedy of putting down a few of our animals over the years he has been a comfort through. Its really hard to find someone I trust with my animals, and I am thrilled that he is there! Now if hed just go take some exotic bird classes Id never need another vet! :D

We boarded our rat terrier at this clinic and were called a couple hours later with the news that they could not handle him. I picked him up and sure enough he was barking at the staff. He had a bloody swollen eye and blood on his coat. The staff informed me that they had to use the stick w/ noose to get him out to administer his shot and he resisted so much that he bloodied his eye. He can be difficult to handle but I am sure that a dog treat or toy would have done the job. We will not be returning to this clinic.

I sure like this vet. They are just good folk, they listen, ask and give their best advices. They spent 2 hours with my new puppy. My little one played in their little play vet area. They are just flexible, informative, easy to work with. They dont make you wait a long time for no particularl reason, they are professional and just generally make taking our pup or kitty to the vet easy. Thank you , esp. like the new vet Dr. Greaves.

We have used this clinic for our dogs for a few years now and between regular vaccine visits , emergencies to maintaining allergies and love them. We are happy to be seen by any of the vets on staff and LOVE the front desk gals. Their front desk manager has helped us problem solve and work with our last min needs on numerous occasions and I have never left or got off the phone feeling as if my pets needs we not met.

STAFF IS TOO ROUGH!! My puppy yiped as they unsuccessfully attempted to flip my pup onto her back. They were rough and hurt her ankle in the process. Some staff seemed friendly. Others seemed condescending and didnt bother to ask what Ive done for my pet so far. Biggest concern would be they cant even flip a dog onto tveir back witg out causing pain. I had a shoulder surgery and can easily flip my pup with no pain.

Highly recommend Newberg Family Pet Clinic. Today I found a badly injured lost dog in my driveway. The poor thing couldnt move and was laying there in the horrible weather. I called Family Pet Clinic who was completely empathetic toward the situation and was determined to help me. They really stepped up and went above and beyond! This is a clinic that truly cares about animals.

My wife and I have been using this vet for a year now and have been very satisfied. We had to put our dog down a few weeks ago and we found the staff there was compassionate and helpful. We had an opposite experience to the one reflected in the other review,but I dont know their situation. We have been very happy with this vet and will continue to use them with our new dog.

This is one of the most friendliest wonderful staff you could ask for, I am from AZ and used them this summer while visiting for three month. I wish I could find a Veterinarian in AZ with the skills and staff. I highly recommend them.
