Firstly, I want to apologize for the lengthy review, but I need to get this off my chest. Because the way the doctors in this ER conduct their work is unacceptable. A summary of my condition/situation. I suffer from very severe abdominal pain/issues. Ive had surgery and Im taking multiple medications for it. Previously, when Ive visited this hospital/ER in the past. Ive received nothing but great treatment there every time. The only reason I give it 2 stars, is that believe it or not, Ive seen worse. I would say Ive visited Anderson ER an average of 2-3 times a year. The reason for this, is that I have been hesitant to take pain meds on a daily basis, so I resort to the ER. After going around 9 or so years like this, Ive finally given in to the pain. Last year, my specialist at Barnes tried some meds that are nerve and other types of lesser pain relievers that are not addictive and wont cause more issues. Well this has seemed to have worn out its use, not that it fully helped anyway. The past two times Ive been there, luckily, almost all of the nurses and staff Ive had were awesome and genuinely caring. But something has happened recently in the last year or so. The last two doctors Ive had here were very arrogant and judgemental as well. Ive never had an experience like this before there. I was in excruciating pain and the doctors did not seem to care one bit. Both times, I sat there waiting in AGONY for hours and hours, only to finally walk back and sit more hours and hours for NOTHING! I got no relieve for pain whatsoever. And what bothers me the most, one of them acted as though they were not taking me serious. I said is there anything you can give for pain. One refused to do anything, and the other offered a med that Im pretty sure I had a reaction to before. And what did he tell me? "Well Im not going to give you anything else." Now what is the point in making a comment like that? What a joke of a doctor. I had a talk with one of the nurses, and she told me that one of the reasons theyre acting like this towards their patients is because theyre cracking down on doctors because apparently theyve given too out many meds and now I guess they assume everyone that comes in is a drug addict. That seemed to me how the doctors were treating me. But the nurse insisted that wasnt the case. Im very far away from being a drug addict, actually Im quite the opposite. I do NOT appreciate being labeled this if that is indeed what theyre doing to people. People that really need help with their legitimate pain, which most of those doctors would probably not even understand what theyre dealing with. They should not have to pay for others mistakes. I think it is ridiculous that they go from one extreme to the other. From handing out whatever drugs to people that come in that dont need it, to not giving it to ANYONE, including people that are in very severe pain or have a history of serious issues. There is a big difference than someone that is in your medical records database with issues, and some random person that walks in the door. This should be unacceptable to act this way towards their patients! And FYI to the doctors. If the patient has a history of medical issues, it might help to look that up when youre treating them. These doctors didnt even know the medical terms I was telling them, let alone look up my medical records for themselves. One was even looking through a book as we were talking to find it! Thats just insane. Ive literally never seen a doctor have to do that before, and Ive spent a lot of my life in a hospital. They were a pathetic excuse for a doctor.

I had called and placed my son on their waiting list in March after he had failed his hearing test and he is 3 years old, after keeping in touch with them calling once a week to check to see how much closer he was to the top of being called, I was then told in the middle of May (almost 2 months waiting) that a kid had been put in front og him, at that point I was very upset thinking to myself "Well how many other kids have been or could be placed in front of my son before he actually gets an appt to be evaluated" ...At that time after the call and expressing my concern of how long he had already been waiting, I reached out to ABC Pediatric Therapy in Ofallon and they were able to offer me an actual appt right then and there, yes granted it may have been a month out BUT ....we did get an appt and here we are the 21st of June and I called this facility again today to see what was going on and see if my son was still on the list and she said yea, looks like hes almost there and I told her well please remove him because the last time we spoke I called and was able to get him into another speech therapy that rated 5 stars online, that had a month waiting for the appt but hes going to be seen this week with them...If had I known it was going to take my son 3 months to get in your door...actually longer since your telling today "Hes almost there" ,which Im assuming he still has kids ahead of him, I would have called around to other places sooner, you could have atleast called and told me to open my resources or something! Instead I have to call 3 mths later not even knowing if you even have his name on the "waiting List" ...I also told Eileen she needs to get with the supervisor or someone in charge and update some ways they do things there and/or get more therapists with more availability because waiting 3 mths with out one phone call of any type, even out of courtesy is totally unacceptable I think...I work in the medical field and our office and co-offices would NEVER make someone wait this long without at least telling them an approximate wait time...seriously, would not recommend this place to anybody if they have to be placed on the waiting list...please help yourself and save some time and try ABC Pediatric Therapy in Ofallon IL...very friendly and accommodating,...my son will be seen the end of this week but still on the "waiting list with no updated calls" for 3 mths now with these people, What a joke!!!!!!!!

I have had a bit of experience with Anderson Hospital over the years being its the "local" hospital. Not all of those occasions have been great ones but I did have really great care there last week. I went in with a cyst on my leg, it ended up being abcessed and had to be drained. Dr. Lee (pretty sure that was his name) was really great! The nurse I had, I dont remember her name but had these little pig tails in the back (short reddish hair), she was so nice and caring. She felt really bad because they tried to put an IV in for pain meds and my veins just were not having it. They stuck me 3 times and no go. It was not her fault, I must have been dehydrated because Ive never had an issue before and this was two nurses trying. Being it was not her fault, she was so apologetic and really tried hard to make sure I was ok. The procedure was terrible, I would be on the verge to call it barbaric being that I didnt have pain meds and they had to cut me twice with a scalpel! But the whole time Dr. Lee and the nurse were so nice and trying to be soothing even though I was trying to suffocate my self with the sheet they gave me. Im betting most of Maryville heard me screaming on Wednesday, it hurt that bad. All in all, they preformed a service for me and they were nice about it. I was in and out right away. I wish more people understood though that the patients that in the worst condition receive treatment faster. I would rather wait 3 hours then be seen in 5 minutes with a crowded waiting room. It means you will be ok in the long run. Thanks Dr. Lee (might be Lee Young?) and thanks nurse pig-tails :)
