My daughter went in in April for abdominal pain that was a textbook case of gallstones. Dismissed as having a hemorrhoid, given morphine after 5 hours, sent home after a blood and urine text. Comes back a month later, is given ultrasound, offered the option of removing it the next day or scheduling outpatient surgery. Stays overnight friday away from her new baby with a liquid diet and npo after midnight to have the surgeon come in and give her ten excuses why she should choose to wait til Tuesday. He pretended it was her decision but had no intention of doing the surgery that day. It was memorial day weekend. We know what he was doing. Promised her pain meds and to be back with a scheduled surgery. Told her nothing but liquid til surgery on Tuesday or Wednesday. Never came back in, eventually she was discharged with Tylenol for pain and told surgery would be Tuesday at 2. Todays Tuesday, and they dont even have her on the schedule!! Her job, my job, her kid, my other kids, our college, all on hold for this, in addition to her health. If the hospitalist hadnt ordered low fat diet, shed be going almost a week with no food! And we have been told that insurance may not even pay for the weekend hospital visit because she elected to come back later. One of his excuses was that this way would be cheaper. Drive to Rockford. Drive to Monroe. Numb it with whiskey and cut it out yourself. All are better options than this joke of a hospital. I can see the ER from my front yard, and I will never be back.

Went in to the ER for chest pains and high blood pressure. Was checked in and sat in a room for almost two hours before anybody came to check on me or hook me up to a EKG. No call light to get ahold of anyone or anything for two hours. Personally wouldnt trust this place taking care of my dogs. The best part is when the doctor prescribed me medicine for my blood pressure the nurse stated " I dont know why he ordered this for you but oh well" I looked at her like did you really say that and she must have caught the hint and replied " it shouldnt hurt you whether you need it or not" personally as a healthcare professional myself I would avoid this place like the plague and chance it going to a different hospital in another city. They dont know what they are doing.

My mom went in last night. She was in terrible pain. Her throat swelled up. Couldnt swallow or talk. It came on very suddenly. The doctor quickly looked in her throat. Didnt feel her neck and throat which was visibly swollen. Did a strep culture incorrectly. Gave her a huge motrin, in pill which she could not swallow! She said something and they ignored it. She said she had a virus and that was it. She ended up leaving without being discharged. She was there from 10pm-4am. Just disappointing. FHN needs to work on their care for patients. This isnt the first issue we have ran into

Horrible hospital. Staff is not friendly, they sit at the desks most of the time and dont care about the patients. Do not do anything quickly and have no sympathy for people in pain. Last visit they tried to keep us longer over something that was not a concern, was released as the hospital had no heat.

Very disappointed with cardiology, their diagnosis goes like this. Do you smoke, if yes thats your problem, if you drink that must be it. Much easier to blame your life habits, than look for the real issue. Mine is hereditary, no need to look any further, take these drugs and youll be fine!

There is little to zero common sense and caring from the staff for the patients. I could never recommend this place to anyone. Very poor professional choices being made to the patients. This hospital is misleading its NOT as they say.

The gift shop will deliver to the rooms, which was a very nice service. That lady nurse upstairs on the overnights, Aurora, is very mean to the patients.
