I went to the Emergency Room due to severe pain in my right leg. I had previously been at my doctors office and told me to go to the emergency room. I could not walk and had to get a wheel chair to leave the Dr. Office. I went to Memorial East as I had previously stayed for 12 days and had a great experience with the Emergency Room and the Staff on level 5. However this visit was different I left in more pain than when I came. The emergency room took me to a room then I got a Ultrasound which detected a Deep Vein Thrombosis DVT (a blood clot) the shift changed and the Doctor came to look at me, she never looked at my leg. I explained that I was taking Oxycontin for my ankles, I have severe arthritis (bone on bone) due to 24 years in the Marine Corps (Infantry). I explained the pain medicine was not relieving me from the pain in my leg (it was severely swollen). She said she would never prescribe that pain medicine as it is dangerous. I understand her stance against Oxycontin, however what was the alliterative to reduce the pain? Which she did not care about, this night shift could care less about my pain, my health, or helping me. I was then checked out and released. I took one step and almost fell, I said I could not walk on my leg. I asked for a wheel chair, finally they gave me one, the pushed me out to the Emergency Room exit and they left me, I wait until my my wife came and she pushed me to the car and helped me into the car. So I left the emergency room with more pain then when I came, I was not offered crutches, pain relief, and had to read the what DVT was and what the precautions were. I now have pain it my other leg and suspect that the blood clot has moved. The paperwork I received from the nurse states if I have the same pain in the other leg, I need to go to the Emergency Room. This hospital is close to my house, however I am reluctant to go to this place and receive terrible care. I am informing Tricare about the disregard of my care. The Dr. and nurses on the night shift did not care about me, I believe I have blood clots in the other leg and cannot walk, lets see how I am treated.

My 90-yr-old mom, who has dementia, fell at home at 2am on 6/19. We arrived at this hospital around 3am. The nurses, aides, & staff on the night shift were attentive & caring & very patient with mom. That all changed with the morning shift change. No one came in to introduce themselves. No one updated the dry erase board. No one asked if we needed anything. The social worker did try all day to help get an approval for mom to be placed somewhere. The PT & OT ladies were helpful & kind. We were across from the nurses station, which is apparently where the party was. They were loud & raucous, not at all professional and certainly not conducive to calm & healing. With the exception of the social worker, the PT & OT ladies, and one aide, everyone else should have stayed home or met at their local watering hole. The behavior of the staff was ridiculous. By 10am mom was paranoid, convinced the staff was laughing at her. By 2pm I had to ask to be discharged. That happened at 3pm. Mom was increasingly agitated, as was I. There is more to this story which I am putting in writing to management. 12 hours in this ER was about 10 hours too long. Mom recovered from the fall, but the trauma caused by careless staff may take much longer.

Hands down the most arrogant ER staff that Ive ever experienced. Im a 17yr active duty member of the military and went in at midnight due to severe muscle/nerve pain that made every movement painful. They denied giving meds and accused me of seeking narcotics because I drove from my residence in St Louis (as if I want to go to a ER in downtown STL). Un-friggin-believable!!!!!! The nurse then lied and misquoted me by stating that I told her my appointment with my PCM was at a different time. Which, doesnt even matter because I received anti-inflammatory meds. Which didnt work which was PRECISELY why I went to the ER to get help. Instead, I was insulted by the doc (who wasnt even remotely interested in hearing the symptoms and denied care). So glad I dont live in Shiloh any longer. Oh, then they accused me of kicking a door when exiting which is 100% false. I tripped because I was wincing in pain and misjudged the sliding door. Worst ER/medical experience ever.

My wife is currently being seen at this location. There is hardly any patients here and it took over an hour to see the doctor. When he came in he spent less than a minute with us. After two hours of being in pain my wife finally received pain medication, which took us calling her other doctor and her pain management on call person. The nurse also made the comment that they were not sure if she was a sheister, or meaning someone just trying to get narcotics! Well, if they did their job and looked up her history, they would see she is being seen for her pancreas issues, and the comments are unwarranted! I will be filing a formal complaint, and I do have the doctors name and the nurses that made the comment. The nurse even told us the doctor denied her Benadryl. Last time I checked, you can buy Benadryl over the counter, it is not a narcotic! What is wrong with these people here? Horrible, horrible experience from beginning to end!!

I was admitted to the labor and delivery and had the worst experience. I didnt see a doctor until 24 hrs after being admitted, and thats only because my husband had to ask one of the nurses. Also I rarely saw a nurse unless I had to call one of them, and the worst part my room was right in front of the nurses station. Anytime my husband would open the door to see why we werent getting good care, half the nurses were playing around on their phones or just sitting their talking. Not to mention when you ordered your food it would come an hr later and cold! Hands down the worst experience. Needless to say we ended up delivering at another hospital because of such poor care at Memorial!

The ER DR was horrible!!!! We arrived at 7pm on Sunday for x-rays, cat scan & stitches in a 5yr olds upper lip. We didnt see the Dr till midnight. He then put non-dissolving stitches in my daughters lip which had to be cut out today, needless to say her lip has now opened back up which i sure will leave a scar. And my i also metion after waiting endless hrs for the dr come to find out he was the man sitting at the desk on the phone & computer for hrs who i thought was a nurse. At midnight when i found out he was the dr we had a nice screaming match. I have never in my life met such a rude & unprofessional DR. I would rather die 1st before returning to that hospital.......

My husband took me to this ER because I had severe allergic reaction to something. After answering the question "Are you having your period?" two times during check in, when the doctor walked in he asked me that same question. Why? The doctor was rude and told me I had a hot flash. Seriously? Then he wanted to put me on a medication that is highly addictive that had nothing to do with my throat swelling up. He was not concerned about my symptoms and he was very rude. I couldnt get out of there fast enough. I hope I never have to go back there. One nurse was very kind and nobody else was there so we did get out in about an hour. That was the only good part.
