Wife was told by her doctor to go to the ER and get a blood patch a couple of days after blood patch. We were told to "just show up and tell them we sent you to get a blood patch". We drove an hour and a half and arrived at 2:30 pm. My wife was in a significant amount of pain. At 9:30 pm (yes, 7 hours later) we were told that the folks that took care of blood patches were gone for the day. My wife was furious and wanted to go home. The doctor on call urged her to stay the night and theyd get the blood patch done first thing in the morning. Well by the time they finally got to her the next day it was 5:30 pm. Thats over 24 hours later folks... We were constantly told "oh youre next...youre next". Thank god the blood patch worked...a process that took less than 20 minutes by the way. Theres just no excuse for that sort of crap... If you can avoid them, do it!

I have had My MOM at ER 3 Times within past week. They finally Admitted her Friday, BUT it seems NOBODY LISTENS! She & I have explained time & time AGAIN to EACH PERSON MORE than ONCE that She has been living on nothing but Broth & liquid for a month & she cant go on like this!! Well, they have NOT found out the problem causing her difficulty swallowing, & SHE is NOT able to eat there, BUT was Told she SHOULD be Able to Eat soft foods. So, they are planning to Discharge her when Shes NOT Improved at all. I Used to Believe in St. dominics , but I have realized that they have WENT DOWN so BADLY in Appearance, Cleanliness, Poor Equipment, & Most Importantly RUDE, UNCARING DOCTORS & NURSES that ARE SO LACKING IN COMPASSION & TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!

I have several health issues and have spent more than my fair share in hospitals. Never have I received such competent care by such a compassionate staff. Everyone knew their job and did it with certainty, confidence, and knowledge. The surgery prep area was incomparable. Dr. Colley and his operating team were so very well trained, yet made me feel amazingly comfortable in such a sterile setting. The hospital was the cleanest I have ever been in, from the entrance to the operating room. How refreshing to be in a hospital so on top of its game, yet so aware that God is part of the healing process. What a blessing to have St. Dominics in the state of Mississippi!

Went to the ER in pain. Was given tests and pain meds. Great nurse & nice Dr. Once the meds wore off, I was told I had a tummy ache and to follow up with my primary care Dr. I asked questions about results and what to do. Was basically told they didnt know and follow my gut, which was still hurting badly when I was sent home. I felt dismissed, confused and betrayed. But at least I wasnt alone, as I heard the same EXACT speech given to another patient being discharged. Its such a shame to know that there are really great nurses and doctors there but a few insensitive ones can make the whole place look bad.

St. Dominic has spiraled down in spite of new bricks, decor and mortar. It is a money machine pushing unnecessary procedures like a used car salesman. Their healthcare staff does not display sympathy or concern for patients and many are bordering on incompetent. Staff does not follow their own rules or polices of service or hygiene and many nurses and doctors are rude, oppressive, and confrontational. Health care-associated infection happens frequently and they dont even bother trying or using the preventive measures available. The patron saint of hopeful mothers would roll over in his grave.

My husband is in room 6476 I reported to the nurse that urine was on the floor she said she would call maintenance. After 20 minutes I saw maintenance on the floor cleaning up a empty room and asked if she mind coming and mopping up the urine that was already in our room. Her response was when I finish the room I am in. The room she was cleaning was empty and I couldnt believe it was priority over the fact that we had to go into a room that wasnt even clean at all. I asked for the supervisor on duty and he or she hasnt responded.

My 32 year old son was taken to ER 7/15/17 around 12:30 a.m., they didnt get out of the ER until 6:00 a.m.! He had pain in his abdomen that brought him to his knees, and for that to happen to him, something serious is going on! Hes a veteran, and a strong man! The ER was found to to be horribly filthy. Unsatisfactory conditions! The nurse removed his IV and sat the the bloody needle on the bed, and then tossed it in the trash! The employees were over heard using profanity in front of patients! This hospital is a disgrace!

Id give it a lower rating than 1 if possible. Many of the nurses were very foul-mouthed (not in the room, but easily heard from the hallway), jaded, and seemed much more interested in what was happening on their phones than in caring for the patients. Some of the male workers could be heard flirting with female workers (including married workers) out in the hallways as well. Also, there was a cockroach in the bathroom. Not the patient bathroom, or some hallway bathroom, but one in the main lobby. Seems cleanly, right?

The emergency room staff are Very racist and theyll call security if you ask how long it will be. We were there five hours and they told us ppl were going before us bcus they seemed more sickly? Five hours? My gma had vertigo and was super dizzy. The nurse in the triage was so racist, that she wouldnt make eye contact and told my gma that shes calling security for asking how long will it be. It was so sad. If you are nice dressed black person, dont go to St. Dominic.

ICU department is the worse I have ever seen. My dad was there 8 days and no one in our family could ever speak to a doctor to get an update on his condition. Every ICU Ive ever had to go to always had either a set time or time frame in which the doctor could provide updates to the family. Especially if all of the patients family resides out of town. We asked the nurse to have the doctor call but we never got returned phone calls.
