Long Overdue Review. If I could have given 0 stars I would have. I relocated to Baltimore from Miami in February and I had been in touch with BVC prior to my move regarding my cat that had kidney disease. Staff was nice and helpful and Google reviews were great. I wish I knew then what I know now. I faxed over all my cats medical history and explained to them that my cat get anxiety at the vet. This has never been an issue for any vet I had taken her to in the past as they would have 2 people in the room. 1 to restrain the cat with a towel and the other to administer the test. NOT ROCKET SCIENCE right? I made an appointment and it was downhill from here. We were met by Dr. Nancy Kauder. She look afraid and timid as she entered the room (mind you, my cat was in her carrier quietly sitting down). Dr. Nancy Kauder kept speaking and waving her hand in front of the cats cage which began to anger my already upset kitty. No big deal I though to myself, I have seen my kitty in a worse mood at the vet back when she was in her prime at 6 years old. Now an aging 16 year old, she is more meow than bite. I stepped out of the room for what may have been 45 seconds, saw the doctor walk around the bale that my carrier was on, was called back in and told by Dr. Nancy Kauder that she could not assist me as she was afraid and couldnt attempt to take my cat out of a carrier that easily comes completely apart and has a top and side load. My old vet would open the door and turn the cage upside down and whala! But no, this lady was afraid and flat out refused to help me. To add insult to injury she told me that the only way to take my cat out would be to put her under Anesthesia and that she could die if I chose to do that. WHO THE HECK SAYS THAT AS AN OPTION?! I asked if there were and anti anxiety meds like Gabapentin which worked wonders when i took my cat on an airplaine and had to take her out the carrier at the TSA checkpoint. No she said "only Anesthesia and she can die." What a crock of ish! Imagine my distraught at the very first experience in Baltimore "Charm City." My experience at Belvedere Veterinary Center and how I was treated on the day I arrived by Dr. Kauder is DIPLORABLE. I get emails form them about pets of the month etc. Perhaps they should focus on trying to administer proper care to animals than turning sick pets away. Perhaps they need some new talent or someone who actually gives a darn. Hey I have an idea, how about A VET WITH COMPASSION. Turning away a sick animal whit not even as much as a referral AFTER 45 SECONDS OF LOOKING AT HER IN A CARRIER is just disgusting. So yeah, go here if you have an overly friendly docile pet. Anything less, you will be turned away. BTW - I left this office the same day and took my pet to a competitor in Towson and my cat was on extreme edge by then thanks to BVC but the competitor vet waited about 30 minutes till my kitty calmed down and she was treated and seen with no issue. Belevedere Veterinary Center, shame on you. There was nothing "Charming" about this experience or the Dr. that picks and chooses her patients depending on how friendly they are. How would you Dr. Kauder, like to be discriminated against the next time you go to the doctor because you arent in a good mood because you are sick? What a shame and a waste of my time. Never again and I will tell everyone I know with a pet to stay clear of this place.

This is the best vet experience I have had since moving to Baltimore nearly 4 years ago. Dr. Elianne Amstalden and her team are wonderful. We worked primarily with Thor, but everyone we encountered was warm and professional. I have a sweet, but hypersensitive dog who has become more fearful recently. Before I even gave my dogs history, they introduced themselves to him in a way that clearly made him more comfortable. Throughout the entire visit, they observed and acted on his behavior in ways that demonstrated knowledge, expertise, and genuine understanding of both mine and my dogs concerns. Dr. Amstalden listened carefully to our history and the issues Im currently worried about without rushing through the appointment. She involved me in his care, which helped us both to be more comfortable. She made sure we took care of all his physical health needs, while offering helpful recommendations for both his physical and mental health moving forward. I left our first visit feeling like we had finally found a place to go for truly skilled vet care. I feel so lucky to have found Belvedere Vet Center!

We recently rescued a dog and this was the second vet we visited—and we have definitely found our permanent veterinary center for our pup! The receptionists were so nice and thoughtful every step of the way and made us feel very welcome. Our dog was very relaxed there, which was so impressive because she is not a fan of vet. The veterinary technicians were thorough, gave plenty of treats and love while also taking her history and listening to our concerns. The vet (Dr. Moulder) was very detailed, didnt rush at all, and explained his treatment plan for her allergies while also making sure we were on track with vaccines and heart-worm/flea and tick. He also reviewed the sparse medical history we had for her and discussed it with us. Moreover, the place was very clean, fresh-smelling, and had a convenient parking lot. Highly, highly recommend. Edit: Our dog recently ate a shoelace, and the team was amazing at getting her an emergency appointment and caring for her. Still very happy.

Dr. Elianne Almstaden is wonderful. Everyone really seems to enjoy their work here and they care deeply for their patients. The hospital is very clean and has a relaxing, calm lobby with a nice aquarium. They have lift tables in the exam rooms that are draped with towels to keep your pet more comfortable during examination. They are generally quick and thorough with communication. Sometimes it does take a free tries to get in touch with the Dr. but as with any good veterinarian she obviously has a lot of calls to make, so this is understandable. I like that as many services as possible are performed in the room with you present so you remain involved in your pets care. The center also has a wide variety of therapeutic diets available for a variety of medical conditions. Finally, their services are very modestly priced for the level of care they express for you and your pets.

I have had a great experience at Belvedere every time I have been there. My dog was vomiting and had GI problems, since it was a weekend, I made the mistake of going to the falls road 24hr emergency vet, and they charged me an arm and leg and did not even fix the problem. I waited until monday to take my dog to Belvedere and they charged me less than $100 and my dogs stomach was feeling better by that evening. They know his history, and are always very quick to help when his stomach starts acting up. I just adopted a kitten and I did not hesitate to bring her to Belvedere for her check up. I live about 20 min from Belvedere, and I am sure there are closer vets, but I will not be changing vets anytime soon because I just LOVE this veterinary center. Very reasonably priced, super friendly team and vets, and an appointment does not take forever!
